Play As Darth Vader! (Warning! contains Ep III speculation)

I got a great idea for a video game. It's a game based on Episode III. You play as Darth Vader. Your mission is to hunt down and destroy the remaining Jedi Knights left. Have showdowns with Jedi such as Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Kit Fisto, and others. Then your last showdown should be with Mace Windu. I just thought that would be a cool idea for Lucas Arts.

That does sound like it could be a great game. You could go to different locations around the galaxy hunting for Jedi. Maybe to find them you need to search for information or terrorize people into giving it to you. When you find one of the Jedi you get to have an epic lightsaber duel. Maybe there could be some two-on-one battles as well. And for fun, throw in a few missions where you have to crush groups of dissidents to Palpatine's rule, which would be similar in gameplay to the parts of JO where you have most of your Force powers and fight hordes of stormtroopers. I would really like to see a game of this sort. It would also be a great idea for a JO mod!

 

Homer mentioned a mod for JO where (Eppy 3ness) he "was Mace and went darkside on teh clones arses" or something. Sounded cool.

Agreed, but perhaps instead of JO style, maybe in KotOR style.

 

Yeah, it could have some KotOR-like elements but I'd imagine for the combat JO would be better (with an even more improved saber system).

 

I appriciate the responses to this thread. This is now my second post here in this forum. I mostly post in the Episode III spoilers forum. Anyway, I was talking to my brother and I thought of this idea and boy did he eat it up and all my Star Wars buddies did too. Hunting Jedi would be fun, but the most fun will be the lightsaber duels you get into to defeat the Jedi.

Just how n00bs to Games, either are like "I'm new here, don't be so mean" to the first few replies (cause they're generally flames), or "thanks for the responses!"

I just find it funny how n00b authors thank people for replying.

 

I'm new to this forum, but have posted over 2,300 times SithForceLord. I just like it that people think my idea for this game is a great idea.

 

It would certainly be a change from playing the good guy. I wouldn't mind playing as Vader in a game. I'm not sure I'd want Vader to be the main character, but he would make a great game secret.

 

Bounty Hunter was a change from playing the good guy too, and it turned out great.

I think this is an awesome idea for a game, and I for one would have much enjoyment playing it.

As for being the bad guy. In Episode III, the bad guys win. So naturally since this game idea is based on Episode III, being the bad guy is the whole idea. Some people like being the bad guy. Sometimes, people even like seeing the bad guy win. Also, with the popularity of Vader, I believe this game would do awesome. If somehow I could get this idea to Lucas Arts and they could start working on it and have it ready in time in 2005. Just in time for the release of Episode III.

D_Lowe, sounds like a great game. I would buy it. I made this thread a couple of weeks ago. There's some other fan-created games over there, some are quite good. That Star Wars: Padawan that somebody made sounds great!

Sounds like a good idea to me.

But somehow I get the feeling that LucasArts would mess it up. Like in Bounty Hunter, you wouldn't actually hunt good guys (Jedi), but guys who are just slightly more evil than Darth Vader :rollseyes:

Why?

If Lucasarts want ideas for games, they'd have a 'SEND US YOUR IDEAS FOR GAMES' section on their site.
Which they won't, because LucasArts won't ever use unsollicited scripts.
Just as LucasArts won't come onto these forums for their game ideas.

We've all got a game in us, just the same way as we've got a book in us.
So, If someone think's they've got a REAAAALLLY good idea, prove it, build up a portfolio and send it to some of the big publishers.

It could be very cool indeed. It'd be the TIE Fighter to the DarkForce/JK franchise. Gamers who liked playing the bad guy in Bounty Hunter or those with a perverse streak that enjoy playing the hoodlum/Godfather-wannabe of the GTA series could up the ante by playing a Sith Lord. Yeah, that's the perfect name for the game: SITH LORD. The first level would have a neophyte Darth Vader jumping through Sidious/Palpatine's hoops before sending him to carry out the Jedi Purge. You could play alone or alongside his majesty's finest Stormtroopers and Imperial officers. And if one of those selfsame officers or troopers look at you funny, you may 'discipline' them at your leisure. Heheheheheh...

Mmm...I think I better shut up now...

 

I am going to be spoiler free till eppy 3. Plz don't give out any Episode III spoilers, or I'll get really angry.
