Back when the comic started, I was sure that Kare Kun was going to die as an explanation of why she wasn't in TFA.

I like Black Squadron and all but the book is called Poe Dameron and I would be kinda annoyed if it's just recounting Poe's events of Last Jedi crosscut with What Black Squadron was doing.

I felt disappointed with this issue, it just felt like one of those random, insignificant stories that nobody cares about. The plot twist was obvious from the beginning, and the characters are in the exact same position they were at the beginning of the issue. Normally I wouldn't be so bothered by that, but this is the third last issue of the series so I was expecting some ramp up to a big finish.

    Nothing exciting...
Black Squadron met with this race of bug people. The King told them to escort some of his ships as they fly around the area but didn't say much else. The King's ships get attack by a rebel group, Black Squadron reluctantly helps defend the King's ships. Then the King's Ships defeat the rebel fighters and destroy a giant defenseless rebel ship. Black squadron is outraged, and it's revealed the King was loyal the First Order all along. Then Black Squadron flies away and it's over.

Is it just me or are Poe and the Resistance much...dumber than the Rebellion?

It seems so. I guess it depends on your point of view.
I did love Snap's last line.

Yeah. Add me to those who was really disappointed in this issue. It was very much filler and the twist was so obvious, I'm really wondering what the point of it was. Honestly if these are the Resistance's "allies in the Outer Rim" that Leia was so desperately relying on to swoop in and save them at the last minute, the only takeaway is that Leia is a terrible judge of character and the Resistance probably deserves to get wiped out.

It's doubly disappointing because not only are there only two whole issues left in the series and this does nothing to either try and wrap it up or advance the story, but the previous nine issues were extremely strong.

eh, I didn't hate it, I actually like that Black Squardron got the wool pulled over their eyes and it adds more points to the First Order Reigns docket.

Also I thought it ties in Thematically to Last Jedi which is "The greatest teacher, failure is" like the little green man said. Everyone fails in that film so turns out Black Squardron was keeping the fail flame alive.

I agree that having the third from last issue be mostly a self-contained side quest (for lack of a better term) was a bad idea. They should be building up for the series to go out with a bang.

Anyways, calling it now: in the last issue, Black Squadron will be stuck in a seemingly impossible situation. Just as all hope seems lost, the Millenium Falcon will swoop in and save the day. Poe will reunite with his wingmates and the series will end on a high note.

I would be very happy not only with the Falcon swooping in to save the day but we get Poe, Rey and Finn all fighting together at once, if only for a splash panel. I dunno if that would be against the point of a book that is about Poe Dameron and Black Squadron but I'll let it slide.

Arguably, and IMO, the best current ongoing SW comic...easily.

I'd guess sales. Also for such long running book, in today's comic book world, they are looking for new #1s.

I do think the SW comic line is due for a refresh.

Best case...the do a new SW book with Soule and same artist...not sure of name...but great work.

Story-wise, I'd agree...missed opportunity. Business-wise, probably smart...if they put out some good, new ongoings.

I'm not particularly impressed with the Rebellion/ Republic/ Resistance series...which looks like a series of character one shots so far.

I'd be happy to be wrong about that.

I'm not sure. I drive an Altima as the Maxima was a lot more expensive.

I'm going to miss this series. The stories were sometimes little dull, but that was to a large extent due to limitations imposed by Lucasfilm I think and it was nice to have a series set in the timeline of the ST. And I love the art! This is the best looking SW series Marvel is putting out IMO. Wish the main series would look this good.

The previous issue also confirmed that it was indeed Rey who stole the Jedi books and not Yoda.

I'm also expecting this series to end with Leia having a talk with Poe and telling him he's in charge of the Resistance now or at least promoting him to a General or something.

Yikes, it doesn't look good for Black Squadron. I wonder if they'll get the Rogue One treatment.

Overall, this was a decent comic series and I'm glad it got extended. The art has been decent and consistent, but some of the stories have been way out of left field. It isn't until now, at the end, that it feels somewhat important to the big picture of things.

As first, it's like, when is Poe gonna meet Lor and that got super dragged out. Then they finally meet and it was during some wardrobe story. Like who came up with that? Also, what happened with Terex? I have totally forgotten. I think he got free but not sure what happened after that. I guess I have to go back and revisit the series once it's done.

Seems like the only thing we know is that she's a colonel. The other officer she's speaking with looks familiar as well.

Not a fan of the "A distress call can only mean one thing...distress" bit of writing there, but I like the way this is exploring new corners of the era.

Wonder if the planet Ikkrukk has a freakin' sweet hat.
