Hey guys, forcing people who sit on computers all day to work in the office isn't just to shore up commercial real estate. It's also to prevent workers from getting uppity and demanding more crazy things like "retiring before I'm 78" and "health insurance without a $10,000 deductible" and "spending more than four weeks with my newborn for most of my normal pay." Better to keep them miserable and hopeless and dazed from the freeway exhaust fumes after their commutes.

I would say more on this thread, but trying to change someone's political view is like arguing with an idiot, which in turn is like playing chess with a pigeon, no matter what happens the pigeon will poo on the board and walk away like it won.

I can't help but think it's a bit intentional that she tries to act like that is the case no matter which direction the blood transfusion is going, when the paper itself states that "The present study adds to these findings, showing that transfusing blood from female donors to male recipients is the only form of sex-mismatched transfusion that is significantly associated with mortality." (emphasis mine)

Like, to link to a study that very specifically found the significant issue being female donors and male recipients (even though it also looked at male donors and female recipients) and discusses a general elevated risk with female donors in general seems to really be glossing over some stuff that would mess with who she wants to treat as the dangers in this scenario.

(though there's a core of a real scientific claim here, so I'm not seeing Twitter's basis for discarding it. Though the links to pregnancy that it brings up are an interesting avenue. I loathe when references to open science are obfuscated like screenshots of partial links without still linking the original stuff for independent verification)
