ST POLL: Rate/Rank/Compare The ST Films

The two I saw, TFA and TLJ, should be rated in negative numbers. Ugly, badly paced, awful writing. TLJ only works because every character in it drops 20 IQ points. TFA is an insult to the OT. TLJ has the added bonus of insulting the new characters too.

I haven't seen TROS and I doubt I will, even if I get a free trial of Disney Plus.

Haven’t seen Rise yet. My expectations for a SW film have never been lower, so maybe that will actually help me enjoy it more.

 

This is exactly the same for me. I too haven’t seen TROS and will likely never see it. If I do, it won’t be until I can see it for free.

TLJ- a generous 3/10

Disclaimer- while I think TFA is a better movie than TROS, it is also less rewatchable to me because of what I know will come next.
While TROS isn’t a good film in its own right, it’s also past the worst of the trilogy, minus the terrible kiss.

I don’t really like any of them but my ranking would be TLJ > TFA > TROS.

Tough choice. I would be easier if it had the option "I dislike them all equally".

I would say the most interesting one is TLJ, the most emotional one is TFA, and the most comical one is TROS.

Even thought The Rise of Skywalker has a lot of issues, I still believe it's the best.

I have no firm clue how to rank the three movies, since their quality is all over the place, even when comparing parts of the same movie. But I will say TFA takes it because its first act is the best part of the ST as a whole. The second and third acts, not so much, but no parts of TLJ and TROS were so good as to displace that first act of TFA. TLJ tries to be too cute by half, and TROS is a narrative mess. Which isn't to say I hated them; all three movies are pretty enjoyable and rate as mid-pack entries among the entire nine-movie saga.

Apparently I've been shilling for Disney since TLJ was released. I must have a huge backlog of checks in the mail because I haven't seen a dime yet.
