Post-release Spoiler Rules and Forum Changes

As you all know, Attack of the Clones is fast approaching. The other mods and I thought we'd fill you in on what we have planned in regards to spoiler rules and forum restructuring.

On Monday, May 20th, spoilers will be allowed for discussion in most of the forums. The only exceptions to this are the Fan Force forums for countries that won't have AOTC by then, such as Japan, India, and Peru. Here's our plan for May 20th:

• The "Attack of the Clones and Episode III (Non-Spoilers)" forum will be renamed "Episode III (Non-Spoilers)".


• The "Attack of the Clones (Spoilers)" forum will be renamed "Attack of the Clones".


• The "Episode III (Spoilers)" forum will be left as it is.

Again, no spoilers will be allowed in the Fan Force boards of countries who haven't gotten the movie yet.

If you have any suggestions or objections to this plan, now is the time to voice them. For definitive information on when each country will get AOTC, please refer to the Official Site's Release Date List. Thank you!

I gotcha, loud and clear. No combining TPM and AOTC, like the CT is all on one board, huh?

Well, either way it's fine with me. I plan on hitting PSA Thursday after I see the movie to see what I could've learned ahead of time.

If you combined the TPM and AotC, it would cause sort of a mess. AotC is going to be the busiest forum for the near futere, not question. It would probably drown out all TPM discussion. The OT is so far in the past that no particular film drowns out the others. Maybe in a few months TPM and AotC could be combined, but right now it's best to keep them seperate.

 

Boo...since i probably won't see the movie for a long time, I'll be forced to either leave the JC entirely, or learn every detail of the movie before i see it.

There'll be too much AOTC specific talk to combine it with TPM for awhile, it would be beyond chaos. But I'm guessing that sometime in the future it will happen.

Sounds good. There will definitely be an infusion of people (like myself) into the soon-to-be ATOC forum that have avoided spoilers and discussion.

ive got a few rules to add to that list:

1. Every post referring directly to AOTC must include the word "Viva" in the opening sentence.

2. if responding to an AOTC post in a fashion that does not refer to AOTC directly, please refrain and leave your post blank

3. Try and "mistype" the Title of AOTC at least once as "attack of the crones" in order to introduce such much needed ageist/sexual tension into the movie forums

 

I fought that battle a while agao and we're keeping the TPM and AOTC forums separate for the forseeable future, for many reasons.

 

Conn, why aren't you going to see it soon?

 

I guess that means after this I'll be a AOTC mod, and an Ep 3 non spoiler mod, as I plan to be spoiler free for the next one. Weird thought....

 

Thanks for the info, Nate. May I just add that we would appreciate it if a list of when the movie is released in the different countries may be collated? I understand that this may take quite an amount of work, but it would help to prevent us from commenting about the movie in the FanForce forum of a country that has not yet seen it by accident. Thanks!

Seriously, I guess this means activity will really be dying down in NS in the foreseeable future and yet it will have five times as many mods as it does now? I think the administration ought to try to get the mods distributed around the forums a little better.
