Even though John Lennon & Paul McCartney are credited with writing the songs for "A Hard Day's Night", one song wasn't theirs. "Don't Bother Me", the first song George Harrison wrote, is briefly heard during the scene where the Beatles are trying to enjoy themselves in the nightclub, and Norm tries to corral them.

The word Beatles would earn you 27 on the triple word score in scrabble.

Sean Connery agreed to return as 007 in "Diamonds are Forever" in return for a huge salary (mostly given to charity) and a three-picture deal with United Artists. Unfortunately, only one movie, "The Offense", was made under that deal.

In the British system of Royal honors, the Order of St. Michael and St George has three classes: CMG, KCMG and GCMG. They are translated as Companion, Knight Commander, and Knight Grand Cross. (Or there's the "Yes, Minister" version: Call Me God, Kindly Call Me God, and God Calls Me God.)

On May 25, 1977, when "Star Wars" was released, it played in only 32 theaters in the whole United States. That total was raised to 43 the following weekend. By comparison, "Smokey and the Bandit", released days later, premiered in over 300 theaters nationwide.

The WB cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn was based on Senator Claghorn, a character played by Kenny Delmar in the "Allen's Alley" segment on the radio program "The Fred Allen Show". However, the cartoon character was copyrighted, while the Claghorn character was not. So, Delmar had to get permission from WB to perform Claghorn anywhere outside of the radio program.

There are at least four songs by The Beatles that contain the word 'yellow' as a lyric.

    From memory:

"Yellow matter custard, drippin' from a dead dog's eye." I Am the Walrus

"Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, towering over your head." Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds

"We all live in a Yellow Submarine." Yellow Submarine

Damn, can't think of the fourth one...

When casting the original "Star Trek" series, actor Jack Lord was approached to play the lead role (eventually named Capt. James T. Kirk). Lord was willing to appear, provided he was given 50% ownership of the series. Series producer/creator Gene Roddenberry refused the offer, leading to the later casting of William Shatner as lead.

There’s music made especially for cats. It seems like cats develop their musical taste soon after they’re born.

Now I'm going to have to go looking for this music... which I guess makes it useful?

Napoleon Bonaparte wasn't short. He was somewhere between 5' 6" and 5' 7", which was actually above the average height of his time.

Attila the Hun may have been a dwarf (but probably wasn't). He had a nosebleed on his wedding night, passed out in a drunken stupor, and choked to death on his own blood. Another account says his new wife stabbed him, possibly severing his penis, which caused him to bleed to death.

Cass Elliot did not choke to death on a ham sandwich. The sandwich story comes from an attempt to cover up the real cause of death, which was thought at the time to have been a drug overdose. It wasn't. An autopsy revealed that Mama Cass died from a heart attack. No drugs were found in her system. I'm not sure if they found any ham.

Mr. Spock was originally going to have red skin, and a tail. Instead of being from the planet Vulcan, he would have come from Mars.

A tooth with an actual filling was found in 6500 year old human remains. The earliest evidence of dentistry (teeth drilled to remove rot), was found in 9000 year old skeletons, at a site in western Pakistan.
