LilQui-Gon: Glad you liked it! I thought it was sweet cuz she finally admitted to herself that she does love him [face_love] *grumbles about how lucky the Archivist is...*

Hrmmm what was that in Moulin Rouge? How 'jealousy will drive you mad'? Ayi!! *snrk* hehehe

Well here is the next chappie... thanks for 'gandering' t_s hehehe and also BIG thanks to my Master in allowing me to use her Master Healer and Kyran (I have him being a Padawan still hope that is correct since he's what 21 or 22 since Qui is 16 if he is a Knight I'll edit it accordingly) ;) I figured I might as well incorporate some OCs to keep some sort of cohesiveness... sorry guess the military got me into that type of 'way' hehehe
    THANKS again Layren!!

Dooku thought back on what had just happened as he walked toward a lift down from the Thousand Fountains room. A connection had formed between him and the Temple Archivist. When the two had opened themselves up to each other again during their lovemaking, there had been no holding back. She had held back some on her end before?but this time? The feeling had caused the two to feel like they had been soaring with the Force itself. The sensation had been like no others ever felt before. She is mine! A smirk twisted his lips as his eyes narrowed slightly causing his expression to take on an air of arrogance.

But another thought drifted through to dampen his current mood. A family?attachments are not allowed for a good reason. The tall Jedi bowed his head as he awaited the lift to take him to the Master/Padawan quarters' level. His mind was a whirl with doubts and questions.

For how can one maintain their focus if a loved one ever comes into danger? He snarled and raised his head when the lift's door slid open. He stomped out and walked down the hall to his quarters. I do not enjoy losing my control?or my focus.

Entering the quarters, he called out to his apprentice for he had felt the young man's presence. "Qui-Gon?" He took off his robe and laid it neatly over the chair in the sitting room.

"I'm here Master." Qui-Gon answered as he came walking out of his sleep room.

"What did the healers have to say?" He eyed the young man intently and felt along their bond to sense the Padawan's mood. It appeared that the apprentice was relaxed and was no longer suffering from pain.

"Oh Healer Han'yaie said that the burns weren't too bad. But he is still threatening to name a part of the ward after me and Kyran." His blue eyes sparkled with mirth as he looked at his Master, a slight smirk played on his lips.

Dooku actually chuckled at that. "Yes, you and the newly Knighted Josel have an outstanding attendance record there don't you?" But the Master got serious and gently laid both his hands on the young man's shoulders.

"I am truly sorry for allowing my focus to lapse. I?I could have seriously hurt you." His near black eyebrows knitted as a concerned expression crossed his face.

"Master don't think about it. I'm fine and nothing serious happened." Qui-Gon shrugged and looked away. Even though what occurred could have turned out more badly than it did, he didn't want to talk about it. That possibility actually frightened him a little.

Dooku took his Padawan's chin with his right hand and turned his face to look back at him. "Maybe you don't Padawan, but I do think about it. I would not be able to forgive myself if you had been seriously hurt by my own two hands." He then took his hand off Qui-Gon's chin and the other off the young man's shoulder to gaze down at them. "Never will I ever do anything like that again." He said harshly.

Qui-Gon could not tell if his Master was saying that to him or to himself. All he did was nod. "I?" Blinking a couple of times, Qui-Gon could not clear his sight for they had suddenly gotten cloudy. What is going on? He attempted to reach up to rub his eyes, but his muscles would not respond. As he started to feel lightheaded, he glanced back at

    Great chapter Kynstar!

looks like Qui's propensity for pathetic life forms has him in real trouble.

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Fine posts! Young Qui-Gon and a younger Dooku are so well written.

"Your love for all things has probably gotten you into trouble once more my Padawan."..I liked how this plot point developed, though even though he got sick, Qui-Gon's opinion about caring for all kinds of life forms will probably remain the same.

Pathetic lifeforms could be Qui-Gon's downfall. Good thing his Master was there or he would be in even worse trouble than he's already in.

I love Dooku's concern for Qui! [face_love] His concern for creatures looks like it has gotten him into a lot of trouble. I think Dooku loves him all the more for it.

And Dooku's thoughts about Jo~ [face_love] Looking forward to more, Kyn!

Jedikma: Hehehehe yep it's got him alright! ;) Thanks!! :D

Hey Master! Yep poor Qui! Guess he has to have something happen to him eventually when dealing with his 'pathetic lifeforms' hehehehe Thanks!! Glad Han'yaie went well ;) Hope he goes well for the next chappie too.

Keeper_of_Swords: Thanks! I'm still shaky on Qui, but glad you're enjoying them!

Yep that boy will continue to 'save' them pathetic lifeforms, how unfortunately for Dooku! hehehe

dianethx: Hehehehe I don't think Dooku can help Qui with his love for them! Qui is just destined to continue doing what he does! hehehe Thanks! :D

jeday: Hehehe Qui's forever weakness has nipped him in the bud! Thanks and fear not! ;)

LilQui-Gon: Qui has a version of rabies *snrk* though similar to ours but slightly differing.
    ;) Thanks for reading

t_s: Yeah Dooku doesn't want to admit that that one 'flaw' of his apprentice is humorous to him. Though it is troublesome most of the time, it is a comic relief! ;) hehehehe

Glad you enjoyed the Jo tid bit :D

The healer had been able to get the planet's directory and it took only a little time to track down the animal specialist.

The signal finally got through after several attempts. The hologram brought up a man who seemed to be holding some type of bird, at least to the healer he thought it was a bird. The creature had wings, though it had several claws at the end of the tips.

"Hang on a moment!" The small man popped off as he put the creature inside a cage. The man was wearing an apron over a brown shirt and darker brown trousers.

Pushing the strands of hair out of his face, the man turned to the terminal to see who was calling.

Now that Han'yaie could see the man, it appeared that these Manyians were similar to humans. The only difference was that the nose was flat and only holes showed where they could breathe. The hair was only on the top of his head, none grew on the sides.

"Yes, can I help you?" The man said as he finally concentrated on Han'yaie.

"Doctor Jans Kel?" The healer wanted to know for sure that this was the man he was looking for.

"Yes, and you are?" Doctor Kel took a seat as he began to jot down some information on a durasheet lying on the desk.

"I am Healer Han'yaie at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant."

The man's head shot up at the mention of Jedi. "Oh? A Jedi? How can I help you?" The man's expression changed to a warm smile as he remembered the young Padawan's help with the stratt.

"Master Dooku and his Padawan helped your government out, but Padawan Jinn helped you with an animal issue as well, correct?"

"Yes, bright boy! We are indebted to him. If he had not have found the stratt, that village could have been wiped out." His forehead crinkled slightly in confusion. "Why are you contacting me?"

"Padawan Jinn is ill and I was hoping you could provide me with some insight on the sickness that the creature had."

"Oh? Well it's not contagious?well to us rather?" He paused as he tapped his chin thoughtfully. "It could possibly be contagious to those not native to Many."

At his revelation, the specialist frowned and his eyes widen in alarm. "You mean?you think the boy has caught the Kilyias sickness?" He blinked several times. "I thought that Jedi were immune to sicknesses?"

Han'yaie couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Why do you think the Jedi have healers then? We do more than just patch up the wounded." He nearly sighed out loud. Some people thought the Jedi were omnipotent, but they weren't.

"I?um?well I had thought?well I knew your kind could get hurt, but never thought?" He stopped himself from rambling as his pale skin took on a red tint. "I am sorry?I should not have presumed. I'll bring the antidote myself. It is the least I can do and also apologize to the boy and his Master."

You better just hope that Master Dooku doesn't lay into you once you arrive. The healer thought as he nearly sighed again. "That would be best. Tell me what this sickness does and what I can do for Padawan Jinn."

Doctor Kel went into details at how the sickness can cause seizures, foaming at the mouth, and delirium were well known symptoms that the animals portrayed.

"How long does it last? Is it fatal?" Han'yaie recognized the few symptoms and mentally logged them as it definitely sounded like what Qui-Gon was suffering from.

"It varies from six to eight days?causing massive pain and sometimes brain hemorrhaging towards the end of the cycle. It is?um?it is fatal." The last part was whispered as the specialist's eyes widen once more.

"The serum is only for animals?it'll have to be worked to be compatible for the boy." Doctor K

Nice post, Kynstar! I liked that both Qui and Dooku had dreams the were preminitions of the future.

Poor Qui! Sounds like he is in terrible pain. Nice to see that Dooku cares so much for him. :)

(On a more personal note, I hope you are relaxing today, bringing down the BP and getting rid of that headache! There is no try--just do it! :p [:D] *huggies* for good measure! :) )

Thanks! Yeah... I thought that it would be a nifty twist to have them both have a lil dream about the future ;) Though I think Qui's was a little more disturbing... but then again... Dooku not helping his fellow Jedi out was most disturbing to him too hehehehe

Yep yep, pain is part of the sickness unfortunately. At least he's able to go to sleep somewhat. Hehehe glad you like Dooku being nice to him ;) Dooku does care...it juz takes something drastic to happen to wring it out of him hehehehe

Thanks for the hug! :D Yeah... believe me... that headache lasting that long was a pain!! Man... never had one last as long as that and be as painful for the full length of time. So yeppers I've been relaxing when I can! BP is somewhat down, not as low as the docs would want, but as low as it can be right now. They've adjusted my meds, so I'm sure soon it'll be all peachy! hehehe Thanks for the 'juz do it' hehehe ;) So *whew* yep I'm better! And working on my next chappie for The First.

Both of those visions were powerful, Kyn! I'm so glad Dooku was able to open that bond and bring Qui back from that horrible nightmare! Poor Qui- seeing that in the dream and Dooku seeing a possiblity of the future! So sweet when he holds Qui- loved it! :D I love your portrayal of our favorite count! [face_love]

So glad you're feeling better, that high BP sounds so awful. Take good care!!!

I thought the dreams would be an interesting twist. ;) I'm glad that you liked them :D

Yep and it's a pity that it took something so drastic to get Dooku to realize how detrimental Qui is to him.

Yep, yep! I'm most def feeling better! :D Thanks!

    Keeper_of_Swords
Yep the dreams they both had were a rude awakening. Qui's more deadly while Dooku's hit a nerve and he did not like what he saw. But Qui's condition was more of a priority at the moment.

    Glad ya liked the dream!

    Playing catch-up.

8/25 post: Yan really needs some help with his rather selfish look on things. (Plus, I doubt Yoda thinks he was all that perfect. ;) ) Hmmm, don't know if going womewhere private is all that good of an idea Jocasta. See, I knew it! I did almost expect Yoda to interrupt them but it's meant huh? Interesting.

8/31: Hmmm, interesting thoughts raging thru Dooku's mind about family then his loss of control. I hope he's able to abide by his promise of not losing control like that again. Whoa!! That seemed very sudden with young Qui-Gon! "Your love for all things has probably gotten you into trouble once more my Padawan." He said as he caressed the young man's face tenderly. -- sweet finish to the chapter.

9/11: Holy smokes. The cycle of the sickness Doc. Kel describes sounds horrid. Vivid vision Dooku has. I wish that it would help him change his ways for the sake of the future. And Qui-Gon's vision... now there's a future I'd love to see changed.

    Wonderful story Kynstar!

Glad you were able to catch up! :)

8/25 post: Yan really needs some help with his rather selfish look on things.

Hehehehe yeah that's Dooku for you at this stage in time *snrk*

(Plus, I doubt Yoda thinks he was all that perfect.)

Of course he doesn't, but he had high hopes and still does for his old Paddy.

Hmmm, don't know if going womewhere private is all that good of an idea Jocasta. See, I knew it!

Hehehehe for some reason that made me chuckle!! Yeah his charismatic *snrk* 'ways' got him into the exact spot once more!

I did almost expect Yoda to interrupt them but it's meant huh? Interesting.

Yep yep, he was gonna interrupt but the Force had other ideas. And this has knocked the ole troll's socks off indeed! (if he even wears any... *snrk* hehehe)

8/31: Hmmm, interesting thoughts raging thru Dooku's mind about family then his loss of control. I hope he's able to abide by his promise of not losing control like that again.

He has a better grasp on the situation and it is still puzzling him how he can lose control. He ain't a happy camper about it either, let me tell ya!

Whoa!! That seemed very sudden with young Qui-Gon!

Yeppers, the sickness hits hard it appears for humans.

"Your love for all things has probably gotten you into trouble once more my Padawan." He said as he caressed the young man's face tenderly. -- sweet finish to the chapter.

Glad you liked that! :D I thought it would be a great ending for the chappie too ;)

9/11: Holy smokes. The cycle of the sickness Doc. Kel describes sounds horrid.

Yep yep and I took that from some of the information I got from rabbies hehehe. Qui has a form of it ;)

Vivid vision Dooku has. I wish that it would help him change his ways for the sake of the future.

    One never knows! ;)

And Qui-Gon's vision... now there's a future I'd love to see changed.

Yeah... ditto on that one my friend!! So glad you are enjoying the story so far!!! :D Thanks so much for reading!

As for the next post... I'm sorry that it's short, my pup (well my kid... doona know why I call him pup...been doing that for years now hehehe) has been sick these past two weeks and things have been really hectic. So not to leave you all in suspense I'll give you what lil I've done. It ain't much... but hopefully it'll be enough until I can get an actual chappie done up. Hope you like it! Once again sorry for the shortness!!

Dooku sighed as he felt his apprentice drift off to sleep.

Han'yaie brought the pain reliever and administrated it to the young man. "I checked your blood sample and it appears that you don't have any traces of the sickness."

The Knight nodded as he continued to observe Qui-Gon.

"Master Dooku, you can go now if you like he is out and probably will be for a while. You know that I will contact you if his condition changes." The Healer sensed the tension and worry coming off the normally controlled man.

"No, I am fine. My place is at my Padawan's side." Dooku stated as he pushed several strands of hair away from the apprentice's forehead. The sweat had finally dried causing some of the hair to stick to the young man's skin.

"All right, but I will run you off around evening meal." Han'yaie crossed his arms and eyed the taller Knight warily.

Dooku scowled, but nodded once, anything to get the man to drop the subject. The Healer could be a real pain sometimes.

"I have concern for all, not just those that are sick." Han'yaie smiled and left to ready a room for Doctor Kel to work in once the man arrived.

Sighing, Dooku laid Qui-Gon back on the bed and covered him up. He then sat back down in the chair and watched the Padawan sleep. A day?it will be a day before the specialist arrives here. He silently hoped that Qui-Gon would sleep the whole time, he did not like seeing the young man in so much pain.

"Master Dooku?" A feminine voice quietly called from behind him.

    Dooku turned to see

Here's some more :) This week is hectic due to this being our last exercise before the 'BIG' inspection next month ;) Enjoy!

I am having Jo be Tahl's Master... I don't recall ever hearing who her Master was. Since she was really good with researching (even prior to her blindness) I'm having Jo be her Master ;) Hope that is all right with everyone? I juz thought it'd be cool.
    _________

Dooku did not know how much time passed, but a familiar presence entered the room. He did not have to turn around to see who it was.

"Padawan, there you are?" The Archivist's voice filtered through Dooku's thoughts.

Tahl nearly jumped at her Master's voice. Turning, she blushed slightly. "Yes Master, Healer Han'yaie told me about Qui-Gon. I had to come and see him before our sparing." She lowered her head a little.

"That's all right, I understand. He is your friend after all." She smiled as she walked up to the young woman and lifted the Padawan's chin. "You did nothing wrong." Smiling once more reassuringly, she then glanced at her friend's apprentice. The young man was still pale and breathing slowly.

"Master Dooku said there is someone bringing the antidote tomorrow." Tahl spoke quietly as she turned back to Qui-Gon and retook the clammy hand she had let go at her Master's presence.

Jocasta looked over at the window and watched her old friend. The tall Master had not moved at all. I wonder how long he's been like that?

Just by observing the tall Jedi, she could see the tension in his shoulders. The way he clasped his hands behind his back indicated that he was deep in thought.

She walked over to his side and looked up at his face. There was no serenity in his expression and he looked far older than his true age.

"Yan?" she gently touched his arm to get his attention.

"I am fine." His words were short and crisp.

"Are you? Will Qui-Gon be all right? What is wrong with him?" She was worried for at first she had thought that perhaps Dooku had done more to the apprentice, but she pushed those thoughts away. Nonsense! He loves the boy like his own!

"Like your Padawan stated; the antidote will be here tomorrow. He has caught something that is called the Kilyias sickness from the planet we have just returned from. He got it from that beast." The last bit was said with a deep sigh.

Dooku closed his eyes as the knowledge of his Padawan's love for all living things crossed his thoughts once more.

"His love for life has nipped him in the rear this time and if he isn't administered the antidote in time?it wasn't made for humans either."

He turned and eyed Jocasta with concern reflecting in his eyes. Gulping, he shook his head as for the first time the thought that his Padawan could die registered in his mind.

The Archivist grasped his arm once more. "Han'yaie will work with the serum and fix it up so it will be compatible with Qui. Yan, you must stay strong for him."

Dooku's eyes narrowed and he clenched his jaw tightly. "Are you insinuating that I am not?" The words came out harsher than he had meant for them too.

Jocasta was startled by the vehemence in his voice and let go of his arm. Taking a step back in order to get a better hold of her shock, she clenched her own jaw slightly.

"No, I was not presuming and you know that. You don't have to get all defensive Yan." She crossed her arms and cocked her head to the side a little.

He nodded as he sighed once more. "I'm sorry Jo?I'm just worried. A little while ago I had to go deep into the Force to bring him out of a delirium nightmare. He would not wake up?he was dying?something was killing him and there was nothing I could do for him!" He quietly rasped out as he flung his hands upward. "He called out to me asking why I had left him. Left him Jo! I was right there beside him! Whatever the dream was it was not good at all." The tall Knight rubbed his haggard face roughly.

Jocasta was surprised by the anguish that was reverberating off her friend. "But he is all right now, right? Can he slip i

    Beautiful and well written!
