How come lucas Arts did not make KOTOR on PS2???? I think they should have because I and alot others only have a PS2. Another thing I notice that mostly all star wars games are on the X-box and not on PS2 why is this???
Since PS2 has been out longer, the graphics will obviously be worse than the other systems. Also, the Xbox has a larger memory than the PS2. It's really just a matter of power. When the PS3 comes out, there'll probably be more games for it. I think the newest one for PS2 is Battlefront.
MY DAD WOREKS 4 LuCARSTS AND HE SEYS IT IS BECUZ TEH PS2 IS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, you might as well be asking the same thing about the Gamecube; KOTOR is graphics and memory intensive, and the only console capable of playing it is the X-Box. Or Alternatively, PC, but I would'nt recommend buying it for the PC, because the high-res textures are crap compared to the UBER WOW QUALITIE OF X-BOX GRAFFICS!!!.
It's apparently to powerful for Playstation 2. But fear not. Lucasarts is releasing a very cool jedi/sith game coming out for PS2 called Star wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith( which by the look of it could be the movie-based game of the year). Besides you're not missing out on anything special or new. KotR is just basically a normal RPG game just set in SW. Besides with all the good games coming out for the PS2 by better companies, you can actually live without Lucasarts or SW on PS2. Xbox needs something to attract gamers, so they have SW, Halo, and a whole lot of Sci Fi games( I've never seen a system with so many Sci Fi games). For PS2, it's MGS, DMC, a load of platformers, and whole lot of RPGS( some pretty d*** good RPGs).
Besides you're not missing out on anything special or new. KotR is just basically a normal RPG game just set in SW. Yeah, it ONLY won 48 Game of the Year Awards.
And GTA:SA won Best Game for PS2, but I found MGS3: SnakeEater to be the better game with a better story, graphics, and gameplay. Basically what I'm saying is although KotOR looks cool and is a good game, there are other good games out there even on PS2 that can be a good substitute so no one will feel let down for not having KotOR. Gamecube is getting this amazing Zelda game and has Rogue Squadron. PS2 has MGS3( enough said), DMC, and alot of RPGs( including Suikoden and FF). Basically if you look at it, KotOR is a regular ordinary RPG just set in Star Wars. KotOR is basically the same as FFVII only one of them has better( incredibly, amazingly better)graphics. We PS2 users can live without it. Would we like to have it for PS2? yes. Can we live and be satisfied without it? yes.
KOTOR is a pretty talky version of SW. SW is about action. KOTOR, although somewhat enjoyable is about . . . well talking.
plus my friend has an x-box and I can always play it over there, I defintely would not buy an x-box for just one game.
Another reason is, beyond just technical limitations, they don't make every game for every platform- they spread things around for each platform. So you had a slew of PS2 titles at one point, then the Gamecube had most of the titles coming out, and now the X-Box is starting to get a decent spotlight of SW titles.
