well i see some ppl are having fun w/ this, i stillstand by the OT then PT. the revelation would not be the same as of right now, cause GL can TRY to make the revelation work, but that could be wierd. but he is the man.

I mentioned something similar at a FanForce meeting once.

I pass the 'Naïve Person Of The Evening' Award to you. Congratulations! :p

I chose "Other" because I'd give them a lot of the Post-ROTJ EU.

I'd make reading a privilage and a reward rather than a chore.

"Billy, you didn't do the dishes, no Truce at Bakura tonight."

    "NNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

1-6 because that is the order of the movies. It should be watched in order as it was meant.

Simply on a matter of principal. OT, and the PT.

I enjoy both immensely <(sp.), but thinking about what would've happened if I had seen it the other way around leads me to believe that I need to continue it that way. Plus, it was Lucas's idea. Are you going to argue with him? Also, they're going to know the "history" of Star Wars, so they'll understand it better that way. But I'll probably just leave it up to them. I know they'll choose wisely...

i think if i was showing the films to someone for the first time, i would show them 4,5,6,1,2,3.

i agree with Lucas that they should really be viewed in 1-6 order, and thats the order i watch them in, but i think that really applies to people who have already seen them, and know the story. i don't understand how that can be his intended order for people who havent seen any of the films, as that would contradict his decision to make the OT before the PT.

also, what do you think is the ideal age to be introduced to Star Wars?

I'd show them from PREQUALS to ORIGNIAL ORIGIANL TRILOGY to SPECIAL EDITION ORIGINAL TRILOGY firmly stating which each one is and explaining what each one means.

    Definitely 1 to 6.
I mean whats the point of having them numbered if you don't follow the numbers (its also a good teaching tool for kids to remember correct order of their numbers ;) ).

Besides I don't see the saga as the PT or the OT anymore thats [typical teenage girl voice]soooo last year[/typicalteenage girl voice].

    4-5-6-1-2-3 ;)

I agree that a lot of the humour in the PT only works if you've seen the OT.. the little things like Jango bunping his head, Obi-Wan's, "You're going to be the death of me..." and Palpy's, "I love democracy..."

Then of course there's the "I am your father' scene that needs to be taken into consideration - as much of a genius that George is, he can't make that scene a surprise when watched in chronological order. And I mean, that is THE SW scene of all time. ;) And then there's other things that the PT spoils for the OT, like who Yoda is and such.

And then, most SW fans saw the OT before the PT, so it must work that way too.

Oh, and to leave my kids wondering if the Palpatine they see in EpI is the Emperor from ROTJ... :p And I say show them a fair way apart to leave them speculating too. That's half the fun of being a SW fan. ;)

With all that being said, there are advantages to showing the PT first, but pfft. That's not the way I'm doing it. ;)

it's nice to see my poll back up here. i am tossed on the order, for all the reasons given above.
i may let them decide saying.."Do you want to see it in the correct ordef, or the order i saw them..."
i was brought in by my uncle who had all the toys, and they are all tucked away somewhere in my g-parents house. i have time b4 i decide, so im not really that worried right now.

i want to confuse the hell out of them. since i don't think i ever want to have kids, maybe a totally bass-ackwards viewing might be good. i read "As I Lay Dying" backwards for the first time, going chapter by chapter from the last to the first. it made for a pretty intersting read.
