    The first time: OT then PT

    After that: 1-6

    SW will only make sense viewed from the OT then back to the PT. Plus it's cooler that way.

    OT then PT, but it might be cool to show one 1-6 and see what they think when they don't know how it's going to end...

    I'd show it to them in 1-6 order as Lucas intended it to be seen.

    First the OT, than PT. That's the way I saw them and that's how they'll be watching it. Besides watching it from ep. 1 to 6 would spoil the whole "Luke, I'm your father" scene. It has to be OT first.

    I would have to start with the OT, then Prequels.

    But I admit one thing... The 'I am your father' revalation would not be ruined a bit. We know Luke's father is Anakin... But do we know that Anakin is Vader? :eek:

    So ultimately, the scene would have more weight, as the viewer would have to realize that Vader is Luke's father and Anakin Skywalker, whom they all loved in the PT.

    Unless, of coarse, they show Anakin adopt the name 'Vader'.

    Two ideas for this one:

    1) The standard 4-5-6-1-2-3, so that the backstory of the OT is filled in.
    2) 1-2-4-5-6-3. Watching TPM and AOTC, one can get a hint, but would never know that Anakin becomes Darth Vader. Watching 2 then 4 would lead one to believe that Anakin had been killed by Darth Vader, another pupil of Obi-Wan Kenobi. This would also help expalin the animosity between Lars and Kenobi, since Kenobi's unruly student killed Luke's father (and Owen's half-brother). It also leaves no hints that Luke and Leia are related.

    OT then PT

    The Bespin scene between Vader and Luke needs to remain a shock. The PT kills it.

    OT --> PT.

    Lucas made the OT first and that's how most of the fans viewed it, so it only makes sense. 8-}

    I'd show the movies in order. Then they can watch the movies in any order they want.

    OT to PT. You just can't ruin that "Luke, I am your Father" line can you? It's a classic :D

    I think 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 would be a good viewing order.

    I'd like to have them get hooked on Star Wars in the order of 1-6 because they will experience the fun/happy atmosphere of ep 1 first, when they can handle it better, mature into ep. 2-3. Then, they'll cheer that Luke's in the picture, get mad at Vader (say DUH to "I am your father"), and then have a happy ending.

    My original thought was OT then PT but . . . by the time she is old enough to watch these, EP3 will have been done. I think it would then become confusing to her (she very logical although slight eccentric . . . just like her mother).
