There is a feedback loop built into the nervous system basically that lets the brain know its you that is touching yourself.

Its there so that everytime you do touch anything you don't get surprised!

Since your brain knows its you that doing the tickling the reaction is muted.
    -----signature-----

then explain the pleasure associated with touching yourself smart guy!

I want my floating car. In all the scifi stuff from the past, they always projected to the year 2000 or a little beyond. Most of them had floating cars. IF we can get flip cellphones from the origal Star Trek (ducks jays blaster bolt.)Why cant we have floating cars. I want my floating car, damit. Ok i feel better.

I'm holding out for the men in the yellow suits blasting Van Halen into my head!!

You are right Winch. I can remember Science class from grammar school and how they always told us we would be gliding along on moving sidewalks ansd have floating cars in 2000. Then again, they said a goofball like me would never amount to much and that nobady likes a wiseguy. For their information, my friends adore me....both of them!!

I'll answer. EL is short for Electroluminescent.

Basically its the same stuff that makes Indiglo lights work for your watch. You can also go to a place that sells fancy add-ons for your car and buy EL-wire in different lengths.

Advantages: it glows with fairly minimal power requirements (a 9V battery is more than enough). It generates no heat as well.

Disadvantages: Its not as bright as it should be for a lightsabre blade, but there have been advances lately and the newer EL sheets are much brighter than they were just a few years ago. You can also do some tricks with the container to brighten it up. Basically in a low light to dark environment its great. In full sunlight its invisible.

I'm looking into making my own EL blade as well someday. The electronics is fairly trivial, and there are enough suppliers of the material. Its just one thing on my very long to-do list.

How about a Hoth background?? Seeing since this is the North Ridge and we're probably all looking at snow outside.

This looks like Halloween colours. Me no like. A North Ridge winterish colour scheme sounds good to me.

We are glad to hear you made it safely.

As far as the header goes on the boards, how about a snowtrooper all along the left side column? The group icon would look sharp up there as well!!

I'm thinking we can't have a day go by with no one posting!!!

Did anyone ever wonder where Yoda got the power to his hut? I don't recall seeing any power lines or utility poles.
