They 100% have not. They announced the acquisition in October 2012 and was completed two months. Keep up the great facts though.

No... they haven't. The deal was announced in 2012 and finished in 2013. @HevyDevy was correct.

Disney bought Marvel in 2009, but Lucasfilm was clearly under Lucas' control through 2012. I don't know how you can actively deny that unless you also think 9/11 was an inside job, the moon landing was faked, and that vaccines cause autism.

Anyway, let's drop this idiotic conversation and get back on topic.

For the record, while I do not believe in any of these 3 conspiracy theories, the first one is not even remotely close to the same level of the last two.

Why did you need to put that in the record?

Lucasfilm actually bought Disney. And then Disney faked them out and bought Lucasfilm. And then Marvel bought Lucasfilm from Disney. And Disney bought Marvel. And that's how the DCEU was born.

    Over 1-2 weeks watched I-III, R1, IV - VIII.

TLJ is the best in the saga. It's a profound, beautiful, meaningful film.

I can see how people who have different values would be rubbed the wrong way from this. This represents liberal iideals. For me this film advocates so much of what I stand for. It's gorgeous. It's unobvious, clever, original, surprising and satisfying. People who dislike it aren't wrong, they're just very different to me with very different priorities.

My ranking is TLJ, RotS, RotJ, R1, ESB, ANH, TFA, AotC, TPM.

Lol I didn't notice your pun at first.

Fair enough, but I have left-wing ideals and I think TPM is quite a lot better than TLJ...

Economically left wing doesn't cover it. It's more about social values.

    Roger-Roger.

    Well speaking more about the films themselves;

TPM creates an epic myth. I have long felt its symbolic foreshadowing, and it's dream-like end of an utopian era element, and it's charm and heart aren't given enough credit.
I would not appreciate ROTS as a tragedy near as much without this setup. It has a lot of less than obvious depth. Even the title "The Phantom Menace" is quite appropriate for it's surreality when you watch the episodes 1,2,3,4. And if you accept the "Ring-theory" concept, it is also when paired with Return of the Jedi a great "greener" bookend to the saga.
Plus Qui-Gon! And a clever introduction to Palpatine/Sidious and his scheming.

The Last Jedi I am pretty conflicted on honestly.
As it's own film it is interesting in parts, even exciting at times, but comparing it to a film like Empire Strikes Back (a parallel to TLJ as the middle of its trilogy) it doesn't add enough depth to the overall story or do justice to many of the original themes and characters.
It has some decently dramatic action scenes, and some good dialogue and acting (although there are some cringey lines like "...because Kylo Ren is strong with the dark side of the force."). And I do agree progressive themes are generally a good thing, although some attempts felt a bit tone-deaf (like would any person in the audience with more than half a brain really find Holdo untrustworthy if the film didn't purposely blindside us just to later set up the reveal she is a "true Rebel" afterall  ). But generally the diversity in the new films is a decent positive.

Kylo's story still has me interested, but I already was from TFA. Rey however I think is a little less quality a character relative to her charismatic setup in the first film.
She just seemed more organic as a character in TFA. JJ, Daisy Ridley, and also John Williams made it work.
Rian Johnson is arguably more original than JJ was with Ep7, but I think TFA stays more "in character" as a Star Wars film. RJ to me felt like he was doing things he thought would be cool or deep without truly thinking about what story we are actually in.
Having said that, I'm guessing the film will remain part of my marathon (several day marathons with all the content we are getting) when I see what it was setting up in IX.
I get the feeling it's flaws will seem less stark when the trilogy is done.

Not at all. I just found it funny you decided to put on the record that you thought the 9/11 conspiracy theory is more credible than the other two.

The Clone Wars movie above The Force Awakens?

I saw CW at the cinema and it is the only SW cinema experience I regret.

But besides that I think your list is pretty good, personally.

I have no idea where to place TLJ, to be honest. It’s sort of...above and below my likes and dislikes. It sort of just...exists. I have almost no feelings about it.

I've never disliked TCW movie. I actually greatly enjoyed it in 2008, even though it most certainly has its shortcomings.

Same here, but you can add TFA along with TLJ for me. I just feel lost when watching either film, truly.

I rewatched TLJ today for the first time in a while and it really is working it’s way up my rankings. It is a fantastic film, such a shame that some of the fanbase cant see it. I hope EPIX can redeem TLJ in the eyes of the haters.
