ST Rank the Sequel Trilogies Trailers/Teasers

Now that we have had time to process the ST, I figured it would be fun to reflect on all of the trailers/teasers that came with it. This is a ranking based on which of the trailers got you the most excited for the film at the time, NOT A RANKING IN HINDSIGHT. My rankings are below!

TFA final trailer for me.

 

The final TLJ is great. Snoke's delivery of qoutes to Kylo Ren.

 

The teaser for The Rise of Skywalker has a really special place in my heart because I was able to witness its debut live from the Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration (my first ever Celebration), and I was a complete emotional wreck during it. But honestly, all of the Sequel Trilogy teasers and trailers have been fantastic, especially with the music. The Last Jedi trailer is very high up on my list, too.

 

The thing about TLJ trailers is they hid the terrible Canto Blight and Holdo subplots and they made it look like Luke was actually training Rey.

 

Man, I forgot how good The last Jedi trailler was. Kylo breaking his helmet, Finn vs phasma, Kylo reaching out to Rey, the Porg.

 

TFA, mainly because there was still hope.

 

TFA final trailer was so damn good. It didn't just sell the nostalgia-heavy movie to the fans, it actually made it look interesting for the non-familiar audience that for the first time became curious about SW.

 

TFA. None of them came close to TPM though. That was something else.

1. TFA first teaser (Lot of nostalgia with this one and it felt like the first step into a new era). Especially like this shot of Kylo Ren.



2. TROS teaser (That Palpatine laugh always gives me goosebumps).

Bit of a cheat, but pretty much what Chancellor Yoda wrote although I'd switch TFA final trailer with TLJ final trailer.

The final trailer for TLJ and the D23 saga trailer for TROS are tops for me.

 

TLJ trailer was the best. It was actually cinematic, not just context-free compilation of scenes that didn't tell you anything about the story or characters.

The worst is whichever introduced They Fly Now.

 

There was no trailer featuring the scene or part of dialogue. SW.com released that a sneak peak of the desert chase on YT and it was shown there.

Love the part.
