    I once had several thousand carpenter ants pour out of an electrical socket into the living room of an apartment I was renting. Fortunately the place was razed soon after and turned into a parking lot.

    Any chance of turning your house into a parking lot, Punk? I can attest it works for ants.

    I always thought rats were an okay strategy in Jyhad but there was never a lot of elegance to decks based around them.

    rats are no joke. We live near the woods and this last year have had about a half dozen mice get in and one big arse rat. My girlfriend said she walked in the kitchen and it was sitting on the stove.

    On its butt.

    Back legs hanging off the edge.

    Like a human.

    Pretty sure it was Brown Jenkin but she won't believe me.

    Eww.

    Update. Well it’s all go at Chez Punk. Pest control are coming to clear the debris the rats have created in the drainage system. After that they send cameras in there to pinpoint where they are entering the underneath of the house. Then they smoke out the *******, then they block the hole.

    We’ve got our cats patrolling the kitchen area in case the rats figure out a way to gnaw their way up, and we’ve got our Roomba on in the living room area to hopefully create the impression that we’re moving about in the living room at night.

    We’ve also been told we can get an Airbnb or hotel room for the duration of the works.

    Yes, do that! I had a mouse/cockroach infestation when I first moved into the house, but in both cases the infestations were centered around a single piece of furniture. Once we tossed the previous owner's built-in furniture, it broke the varmits' will to stay on.
