The comic book audience has not been primarily composed of children for the last twenty years, I really doubt they're concerned.

Kids these days see far worse things than a crazy killer clown who wears his own face. I see kids now getting their parents to buy them adult rated games and movies, which could have pretty intense content.

And most kids like to be scared anyway.

Yeah comic books really aren't for kids anymore except those specifically tailored to them like Batman Brave and the Bold or Superman Family Adventures etc. Superman is a fairly tame comic book though for the most part. Its safer than Batman would be I think.

Plus comic books are expensive, what kid can afford all that.

Considering that pre-Comics Code Authority, we got things far worse than the Joker having a slightly creepy face, I wouldn't worry too much. Click at your own risk.

Absolutely. The way the press in 2008 compared Heath Ledger's Joker to Jack Nicholson's was almost identical to how Nicholson was compared to Cesar Romero in 1989.
(Just to clarify, I'm a massive fan of Nicholson's Joker, it led to him becoming my favourite actor)

No, I'm not implying that at all - in very broad terms, a mass murderer is the sort of guy who snaps, shoots twenty random people in a public place, then usually blows his own head off. A serial killer stalks his victims one at a time, murders them in secret, then moves to the next. There's something much more disturbing about what drives a serial killer, as the victims tend to share certain characteristics - young girls, old women etc.
The Joker strikes me as someone who snapped, began killing people at random, then just kept going. Still a psycho, but not the sort who'll keep victims in his basement and eventually cannibalise them. He kills people because he likes it, not because of some sexual perversion caused by a stomach-churningly abusive childhood.
It makes him just palatable enough for 'entertainment' purposes.

Yeah I mean I'm afraid to do it in my Superman outfit because then the building might explode and kill everyone inside, and I wouldn't get the job because of it.

And as Batman you could just say that you were the hero they deserved but not the one they needed.

If and when I get hired doing this action, I hope the interviewer is like "You're our silent guardian, our watchful protector, etc..."

This will probably invalidate my opinion, but I haven't watched Batman or Batman Returns. Or, if I did, it's been so long I don't remember.

    1. The Dark Knight
    2. Batman Begins
    3. The Dark Knight Rises
    4. Batman Forever
    5. Batman & Robin

Please note that I think 1-4 are actually good movies (Yes, even Batman Forever) and... well we all know about B&R.
