Like everyone else, I've re-read because I've enjoyed what I read the first time and it is like watching films and television over and over.

Very well said, K_K. I think that goes for many of us.

I definitely like to read books at least twice, especially for picking up on things I didn't catch the first time that end up having huge relevance later and for the enjoyment of it. Of course, I usually end up reading them many more times after that!

I'll need to give a book a few years for the details to go foggy but, yeah, if the book is good I'll reread it. My father used to get on me about that. Like it was somehow the dumbest thing in the world to do considering the amount of books there are to read. I didn't care though. There are some books (not necessarily SW) that really should be read more than once.

I've lost count how many times I've re-read the Dune series and LOTR series. They get better every time and I always pick up different nuances on the re-reads.

I watch the movies a ton too and I play the LOTRO MMO. I'm a big time LOTR fan.

I always re read, it drives my wife nuts, but if I enjoy a book I always want to re read.

I also make a point of reading all of HP and LOTR once a year.

Sometimes I take notes when I re-read something. Especially if it's something I never noticed before.

I took notes during HP, just to keep track of clues...

The Dune series is the one I usually take notes on. There's so many subplots and themes going on in that series, that it's hard to keep track of. It's also good for finding plotholes.

I must admit I have never read the dune series, maybe I should give it a go.

You should definitely read Dune and God Emperor of Dune.

Just make sure that you read Frank's work of Dune.......

I will probably give Dune a reread after I finish my reread of Wheel of Time.

I need to reread that too - I intended to do it before the new book, but I didn't give myself time (and I don't even have them; they're on my bookshelf at home).

Something else that's on my to-read list :p

It was already on there though, so I didn't have to add it ;)

I reread books all the time. If the plot's really engaging in a OMG-must-know-what-happens-now kind of way, I sometimes even skim a book the first time round to find out what happens, and then reread it immediately after to pick up on the details. :p

What I've been doing lately is rereading books I used to love when I was a kid/young teen, and it's fascinating to see all these little details I missed the first time around and how transparent some plot things seem to me now. And some of them are truly atrocious books (not many, thankfully, or at least nostalgia is covering it up).

I have not re-read a book in many years. It's usually once and that's it. I used to re-read a few of my fav books or stories.

The ROTS novel I one of th ebest books I have ever read but I have only read it once. I have read ANH and ROTJ MANY MANY times.

I reread books a lot, and like to pick up on things I didn't notice before.

I am actually in kind of a contest with someone to see who can read HP more- I'm winning at 209 and a half. :)

209 and a half? As in 209.5 times you've read it? *blinks*
