Thriller Drama Limited Run OPEN Realms Between: Attack on Titan

Note: This game will contain spoilers for Attack on Titan Seasons 1- Season 4 Part 2. It will not cover any further manga material until Season 4 Part 3 is released.

The world of Attack on Titan, at its fundamental core, is one of a cruel, merciless world begotten by the cycle of hatred perpetrated by humans. A world cursed by this hatred, in the form of the Titans.

​

Almost all are mindless, giants of incredible, size, speed, strength, and power, driven by an impulse to eat humans. But even more disturbingly is that these Titans were once humans, that were transformed into Titans.

Not all humans can become Titans, and fewer still become one of the Nine, Titans with special powers that retain their human mind and can transform between their human and Titan form.

All these Titans, and the humans with the capacity to become Titans are Eldians, a race of people that only built an empire with their might than spanned the world. Subjugating nation, after nation including that of a large nation, Marley.

But as it is said Empires rise and they fall. Marley overthrew their oppressors, capturing seven of the Nine 'Titan Shifters' as they came to be known. With this newfound strength, they built their own empire, many Eldians fleeing to an isle in the South of their empire. Any Eldians outside the walls were placed and subjugated as second class citizens in the Marley Empire.

Those that made it to the isle, the Isle of 'Paradis'... had their memories of their past wiped by that of their King Karl Fritz who, for his own reasons, wanted the Eldians to all, in time, die so that the world may 'heal' from the cycle of hatred. He too created erected three, massive walls around his people to protect them formed from Titans with the vacant threat that he would unleash them if Marley ever attacked.

A hundred years of this 'peace' lasted until... That Day.

The day the Colossal Titan, one of the Nine, would destroy Wall Maria. The day the Titans invaded what remained of the Eldians, though they thought of themselves simply as the last survivors of humanity.

It too was the day a young Erin Yeager witnessed his mother eaten by a Titan.





And from this one moment, the story began...

It was on this path that Eren would face the Colossal Titan, once more.


To find that he too could transform into a Titan.

Learn in time of the truth of Marley, Eldia, and the hatred of the world against the people of Eldia.

The world viewing their island as nothing but an isle of devils. Driving him to one, solitary conclusion.



That Marley and the world...



...had to burn. To him, the only way to end the cycle of hatred.

It is after an event known as 'The Rumbling' in which Eren Yeager unleashed the Titans of the Wall to eradicate the rest of the world, in which the select few of the Omniversal Holy Order find themselves...

Though, even with the deep and intricate mayhem inherent to this world, it... is broken... shattered by their mere presence.

As they search for clues on the mysterious 'Titans of the Omniverse' it will become a question as to how they will deal with a world so close to eradicating itself. And what, if any, other Omniverisal threats present themselves...

This is a game of Realms Between... a singular realm of the infinite span of all things. What that means is the game is split into two modes:

The story of the Realm itself and that of those who travel between Realms. The two are intertwined and interconnected.

This is also a limited run game, which to me means it will last for approximately 100-300 posts [number varies based on player count, combos/singles, and other factors. A normal game takes between 400-700 posts] as such the story will be tight and focused in its direction.

There is an option for one to play a character that exists within the Realm in question. This is an option open to all. A character sheet is provided below for those interested in such an option. If your character is crossing over from another realm you are not required to post a CS. I do however strongly encourage to post an image or give a description of your character in your first post.

Where It All Began​

The air was thin, the sounds of explosion, gunfire, and the roars of beasts echoed and resounded everywhere around them. The red buildings stood over them, creating a cramped, claustrophobic atmosphere. The red brick roof tops lined each of the buildings as far as the eye could see. The walls that appeared to be made of stone were in the far distance, towering over the enclosed city.

Kardis, Cocytus, Alecto, Ike, and Victoria were caught, quite simply, in the middle of a massive battle. Victoria's eyes looked up to the sky, above them they would witness a collection of airships, extremely primitive by the standards of those that were here, but the height of technological progress within this world.

"We arrived several years after we meant to..." spoke Victoria. Though they had arrived at the correct place... it just so happened that this city had been a point of repeated conflict over the past several years. There was also, a few moments after they had arrived a strange twisting sensation as if the world was spinning upon itself. A rip, a tear, a shattering. Something had broken... what vestiges of the Force hung about their person could feel the faint whisps of a great discord.

Victoria and the others would have little time to discuss, however as a great roar thundered out from the end of city, brilliant flashes of bright yellow light soon fled up as then near and far they would begin to see them.

Three of the 'Pure' Titans that Aeneas had informed them about soon surrounded their position. Incensed to eat and consume them as the three bounded in from north, south, and west of them, with their east blocked off by a building. It seemed they would get to try their newfound toys sooner than expected.

IC: Kardis Talathee, Lower Sentinel Two
Attack of the Titans

For the most part, she’d opted to only watch in silent amusement as they bickered at each other, Ike, Cocytus and Alecto. They were like children, charming and unruly all at once, in need of much discipline, but displaying a wide array of potential. Their interactions revealed much about each single one of them, and she found them all quite interesting as individuals. Could they become a team?

“Challenge accepted…” She’d whisper to herself, and just loud enough for Aeneas to hear. He would also recognize the charmingly small smile that came to her lovely lips. A dragon spawn was not so easily dissuaded by circumstance.

A golden portal appeared and in a veritable flash, they were transported to their designated location: The Walled City. Yet, there was no time to wonder at the great architectural achievement, for that which they now beheld would come as a great surprise.

Victoria would be the first one to speak: "We arrived several years after we meant to..."

A incomprehensible rending moment encompassed them all, then a great roar thundered out from the end of city, brilliant flashes of bright yellow light fled up, as then near and far they would begin to see them:

Three Titans bounding for them. Pure Titans, the kind that mindlessly attacked humans. Humans like themselves.

Kardis Talathee, disguised​

Kardis cursed under her breath as they were so suddenly ambushed from three side, North, West and South. Behind them a brick house stood, observing them in contemplative silence.

Kardis felt no surprise when Ike became the first one to be grasped by a Titan. That one was a magnet for trouble, for sure.

"Impale! Shoot! Fly! Kill! Murk! Shank!"

Kardis gestured with her left hand as he shouted maniacally. One of her rings glowed with seemingly green eldritch energy.

“Such a brittle prison cannot hold you.” She declared, then added a command: “Ike, Break free!!”

There was another wave of her hand before the remaining two bounding titans.

“Eyes like Rock cannot grasp what they can’t see…” This she spoke, with the intention to petrify the titans eyes.

“Alecto! Snap out of it!!”

Kardis glanced at the vomiting young girl, then side-glanced her master, Cocytus. Her brief look was plain to read: ‘Straighten-up your apprentice’

“Victoria, we need an exit route, now!” Kardis shouted as she sought to bring their situation under a semblance of control.

Clearly, none of ‘these’ were the ‘Titan’ they’d come searching for, but first, they needed to survive their welcoming committee, if they were going to succeed.

Darth Cocytus
Attack of the Titans

Darth Cocytus sensed the disgust in his apprentice and his eyes narrowed in disappointment, for his secret was quite the opposite. He found other species, including the Human race, to be absolutely fascinating, in an almost xenophilic sort of way, especially the numerous cultures they all shared. It was part of what made Cocytus, in his youth, feel the city of Tipoka City to be more of a prison than a home of his. Unfortunately for him though, from the moment he stepped through the portal, he found little time to take in this new world, finding it in ruins and under siege by these so-called... Titans.

Ike was the first to be grabbed to no surprise of Cocytus. He was weak and a fool to even consider challenging someone like a Dark Lord of the Sith. So it was obvious that Ike would be the first to find himself in trouble.

"Impale! Shoot! Fly! Kill! Murk! Shank!"

Their companion, Kardis, was already giving him aid. So Cocytus merely observed, with a hand ready for either his lightsaber or Jinju Bang just in case. What caught his attention, and further disappointment, however, was the reaction of his apprentice.

His eyes narrowed with a sneer.

"Control yourself!" Cocytus hissed smacking her in the back of the head, before glancing at Kardis, "I believe that our destination route was miscalculated? How reliable are our means of travel exactly?"

Seemingly Trapped

The woman would look down at a little disc in her hand that displayed information to her, a winged key held in her other hand.

“Victoria, we need an exit route, now!” commanded Kardis.

"I believe that our destination route was miscalculated? How reliable are our means of travel exactly?" inquired Cocytus.

Victoria looked down at the disk, swiping it over and over trying in vain to get a different result.

"It would seem... this world, is a fixed one. The flow of time does not alter, and our very being here..." there was another terrible shift of the air and space around them as Ike was grabbed. It was not a product of the battle surrounding them, but of... well... something unknown.

Victoria jammed the key into the air and twisted, expecting the usual response of a floating portal... only for nothing to transpire.

"W-what?" she stammered as she repeated the motion, to any outsider looking like an utter loon. "The key is depleted we are going to have to gather--" She was interrupted before she could give a response. The two titans that had their eyes petrified by Kardis were not slowed in their pursuit. One screamed in utter pain as the only seemed completely unaffected, steam billowed from both of their eyes as in a matter of moments their eyes were restored, the old eyes crumbling to the ground in their rock form.

The third Titan that Ike had been handling began to squeeze, its grip tight and firm Ike was barely able to breathe at all as its immense jaw opened, carrying him over to be consumed. The spear flung out traveling in a wild crazed fashion mirroring the commands given to it by its master as it impaled and stabbed through multiple sections of the titan half of which did little to stop it, one however sliced through the forearm slicing the nerve there loosening the grip as Ike would drop to the ground. Other wounds stabbed through its legs causing it to buckle as it fell on the ground, steaming arising from each of its wounds as it began to try and clamber back up.

The two titans that Kardis had attacked then bolted, one going for Kardis and the other Cocytus, their speed beyond what anything of that size should be capable of, as their hands sought to grab their respective targets.

All while in the distance the cries of battle continued to ring out.

IC: Floch
The Roar

​

The battle was tense and as fierce as one would expect. In the distance from where they were perched on the walls Floch along with the other scouts that were with them such as Matthaeus would see Zeke, in titan form, in the distance his roar having just echoed throughout the air as Titans everywhere were transformed from it.

​

Eren was still pinned down by the Armored Titan, his hand left out in vain as Zeke continued to bellow.

​

The Armored Titan then quickly forced to pin down Eren, and that of another recently transformed Titan.

​

They would all then feel that warping, the twisting of the world that was wholly unnatural. Was that the power of the Founder? No, Eren had not made it to Zeke yet? But everything felt... off, and then Mattheus would feel as a if a great fog had cleared from his head, some part within him had changed, through he would not be able to describe how.

​

The Cart Titan was preparing to fire once more, at the now roaring Zeke... they had to be stopped.

In order for them to be free...

They had to win.

IC: Kardis Talathee
A many layered trap

Kardis noticed that Victoria was having trouble with her devices. Unexpected, but not the end of the world per se. However, this world being a ‘fixed point' was quite significant. It meant certain events could NOT be changed no matter what they did.

Why wasn’t this known to use earlier? Kardis wondered between ticks of time. In that case, 'who or what' was the focal event? If all this was supposed to happen….

Kardis pivoted as the Titans grasped for them at an alarming rate of speed, but she seemed unperturbed by the attempt, for she had made herself momentarily immaterial.

“Vapor and gas you’ve all become, blown away! Now Begone!”

Eldritch green energy flared from Kardis’ ring as she waved her hand once again. She exerted her will as she intended to turn the Titans into so much smoke, then cause them to be washed away as if by a gale, but if she was understanding things, they would simply reform meters away, instead of perish. At least that would buy her team some time.

“This place is overrun! We must move." She declared. "Victoria, our target. Where about would they be? Time is running out…”

Kardis knew her ‘distraction’ wouldn’t last long, but it didn’t need to- it had only to slow down the attacking Titans and recover some lost time.

“Over there!! There’s less of….”

A deafening great roar was heard through the walled city, it was followed by a multitude of yellow flashes erupting all around them, as more Titans suddenly appeared.

“Confound it all!!” Kardis observed in annoyance, her ruby colored eyes narrowing slightly.

“There’s no avoiding it. We must fight our way through!”

Darth Cocytus
Trapped

Just great. Omniversal "Holy" Order incompetence has gotten them trapped in a foreign world surrounded by foreign enemies.

Darth Cocytus sneered as he readded himself for the incoming titans. They may seem like giant, living, humans, but the way they acted made them appear to be anything but.

Initially, the Dark Lord of the Sith, staring at these monstrosities with the signature glowing yellow eyes, but more cat-like compared to his kaminoan eyes that glowed like candles in empty sockets, went for his lightsaber, as if by instinct.

No.

Time to give his new toy a try.

Cocytus grabbed the Ruyi Jingu Bang that was on his back and charged towards the rampaging titan.

He would leap into the air, just as a giant hand reached to where he was seconds ago, and landed on the arm.

"Let's see what power you can show these abominations!"

Running up the limb, Cocytus wielded the staff as if it was a double-bladed lightsaber, twirling around in his hands, before, taking the advice of Ike, striking it upon the joint where the arm met the giant's shoulder.
