Our social thread/random thoughts type thread got left behind way back on page 10, so I thought it was time to make up a new one.

We can use this thread to post little things we want to share that don't really need a thread of their own, general social chatter and other random thoughts.

I'll start off with this that I just read over on the Philly boards...

The Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are this year's winners (2005):

    1. Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

    2. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

    3. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.

    4. Foreploy: Any misrepresentatiuon about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.

    5. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.

    6. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.

    7. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

    8. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

    9. Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.

    10. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit).

    11. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

    12. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

    13. Glibido: All talk and no action.

    14. Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

    15. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

    16. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

    17. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit your're eating.

    18. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an a******.

I thought we agreed to stop making fun of MOST TRU and Target employees?[face_laugh] Not all of course, some of them are very good people. Fran and Dave have always been nice to me when I was at Henrietta

If anyone is interested in ghost hunting, the invite to the next hunt/walk is posted over at Rochester Fandom. I missed out on their last one to Mt. Hope Cemetery. This one is going to be a Highland Park June 26th at 8:30pm.

I was actually going to go ghost hunting out near Buffalo. They have an all night thing in what was a former poor house, insane asylum, orphanage, and nursing home. They have pizza a midnight and it sounds like fun.

Hehe. I wish I was around on Sunday night...aside from the drive I'll be coming back for a wedding out Ithaca way.

That sounds cool. Looks like they're actually closer to Batavia.
Sounds neat, but it's $35 per person...
I'm not sure I'm that interested in ghost hunting.

Ma-na-ma-na is from the Muppet Show many years back. It's part of a song. You may have heard it in a Dr Pepper commercial that started airing during the Super Bowl.

Who would win in a battle....

the Starfleet of the Federation (every ship)
    VS.
    Executor (with all support craft)

I guess I don't remember the Muppets that well, and I don't watch enough TV (or the Superbowl) to have seen the Dr. Pepper commercial. Unless it was that one with the characters all in black & white (or was that one for Mountain Dew...). Well, in either case - I still don't get it. :p

I would have to go with Next Gen era Starfleet since their ships have shields.

Yes true but the Executor has shields, ion cannons, and a couple of hundred fighters. A couple bombardments of ion cannons, turbolasers, and torpodoes shots might be able to bring down a starships shields while the Feds would be firing away with just lasers and torpedoes.

Hey D & I are thinking about seeing Batman & Mr. & Mrs. Smith tonight at the Vintage Drive in Avon anyone interested?

They are also playing Eppie III with Bewitched.

I couldn't make up my mind which I wanted to see, 1 movie I have't seen with a movie I 've seen 3 times or 2 movies I haven't seen, so the 2 movies won out

Ooh! I really want to see Bewitched! And, of course Batman Begins, but I think we might try that for Sunday. Have to see what KS thinks... I think he's hoping to get more work on his next costuming project though.

Good luck on the potential date Wingnut! Although, isn't the drive-in the stereo-typical date venue anyways? ;) Can't speak from experience on that one though as KS and I didn't get a car until long after we were engaged (maybe even married at that point...).

Found this site while browsing around NJO's boards.
    Unfortunate Star Wars Costumes
Now, while I don't condone people making fun of others period and especially fellow SW costumers, I must admit most of these made me laugh.
