Kanna's bolts struck home, piercing the engines and the propellent giving the inexperienced pilot of glorious send off, wreathed in orange and blue. It might have been another kill to put in her file but, there was something hollow in the victory.

"Good Shot." Waver congratulated the ex-con.

"They made it easy on me." She replied returning to formation.

"If they find out two X-Wings did this Yelen might be identified as one of our agents. Guess we can't allow that." Kanna looked to the other Headhunter running away. A long sigh left her as she threw a gaze over to Waver.

"You could have told me to kill him first... Would have save us a lot of time boss." She said following behind though not as skillfully since she didn't know this asteroid field. "I'm just saying I aint squeamish."

"Cover me, I take that one." Kanna nodded her head.

"You got it." Looking again her sensors were still in and out. Her only hope was getting just enough of a heads up. The X-Wings would quickly catch up hopefully cutting off any message getting back, to whomever. That was the hope, that they would take out the other fighter before any word to be spoken of what happened here so that she wouldn't really have to worry. Didn't mean she slacked off on keeping an eye on things even if her sensors were spotty. All they had in the rebellion were each other, they needed to watch each other's backs. No one else was going to do it for them.

Imperial Troop Transport, on his way to Teliad

Major Zern had left no doubt. This was a mass murder as retribution to the act of terrorism in the capital of Teliad.

They were going down there to kill children.

This was not war. This was not even a fight. He secretly despised the mission, but orders were to be followed. He turned to X-11-9 and nodded. Tevon Rache was a veteran like him, having fought in many wars and battles. Often together with Aren. He was probably the one soldier within the team to have the same level of experience when it came to fighting.


Without a further word he walked out of the briefing room and entered the designated dropship. He checked the maps and familiarized himself with the area. This would be an easy task, easy to fulfill. The hard thing was ... it was so easy.

"Let's get this over with. Zern seems to be out for blood." He said to Rache and the comrade nodded.

"You knew he was one of us? First generation storm commando. Unit Storm." Rache said and checked his weapons as a few ordinary Stormtroopers entered the ship and were ignored by the two elite soldiers.

"No, I didn't." Aren answered. It explained the Major's preference for commando units though.



A few minutes later they landed at the periphery of the farm and stepped out of the ship. He took lead and started wandering to the farm. "Who does the kids?" He asked when they were out of reach of the stormtroopers who secured the perimeter. Please do it, Rache

Alesya Brest
Near Dashona, Solen Farm

Alesya laughed at the little man playing Stormtrooper and watched him run to the house.

His father came out and she greeted him with a raised hand. He referred to Morwen as the "little Stormtrooper", but that probably hurt. His father was well known for his lack of sympathy to the Empire.

"I was looking forward to see him. Don't worry we will be fine as always. And the little trooper will get his marching orders to bed sooner than he wants to, trust me."

Waving his Dad goodbye she followed Morwen into the house. "Kiddo, no more stormtrooping. I expect a hug. Right now." She laughed. It was probably be a fun evening with the little one.

Teliad, Near the city of Dashona

Tab lay down in the grass watching the Imperials spread down there.

"We could go around them, but it looks like we are running out of time here and we would have them in our back." He sighed. "I'd say we take them out and try to catch up to the guys in black." He looked at Alistair and wondered what the grunt would say about it.

After all he was only the pilot ...

Teliad, Dashona Aqua Culture Belt, Solen Farm

Morwen came running and did as he was told and give Alesya a hug as hard as he could. Then he looked up at his babysitter and grinned.

"I have to show you something totally cool!" He whispered and ran away again. Pretty quickly the step on the ladder to the attic were heard as the small feet climbed them.

Nearby

"Whoever gets them first." Rache said under his black helmet and raised his hand as they stood on a hill above the farm. On the small road they saw a single man walk away. Rache took out his micro-binoculars and turned to Voren.

"Eyes on the target. Can you take the shot?" Rache was more of a close quarter specialist and left the sharpshooting to Aren, who was a much better shot.

Asteroid Belt, Near Rassil Station


"Got him." Waver confirmed and speed up, the Headhunter was not yet sending messages. The rocks were still to dense probably. He would not make it out of the field. That much was clear pretty quickly.

Waver catched up, pulled behind him and fired a first shot. The pilot was better than his colleague and dodged the volley. It exploded in a nearby asteroid. But the z-95 was not nimble enough to out-maneuver him. As the pilot broke away to the left side a second shot hit him and hit through the shields. The Headhunter began to tumble as the pilot lost control. In a bright orange explosion it hit an asteroid and was gone.

"Got him. Back to base." Waver said and obviously regretted they had to do this. "Poor bastards." He added and turned his ship, catching up with Yelen to escort him savely out of the field.

"I hope whatever he got was worth the bloodshed." Waver commented dryly.

Shysa followed Colonel Tesc out of the speeder and stuck close to him. "We should move quickly." She said as she looked around. Shysa looked over at Lerona and gave her a reassuring smile. Shysa reached over and tugged on her arm and pointed to Colonel Tesc. "The Imperials are strong, but together were stronger. Like a Clan."

Lerona absorbed the words and assurance of Shysa Eros, and returned her smile gratefully as they exited their vehicle and followed the Colonel. She was convinced that the Empire's penchant for power-grabs and self-interests would prove to be their greatest weakness while the Rebellion's cohesion would be their greatest strength.
She had a feeling that Shysa would prove to be a courageous and fierce ally.

The pair of X-Wings chased down the old Z-95 Waver taking the lead. Kanna dipped and dived below asteroids trying to keep up with the more experienced pilot. There were a few close calls and her sensors continued to fail her. Waver sent off a burst that missed colliding with a rock tumbling through space. It seemed this pilot had more sense than his colleague. Unfortunately that sense wasn't good enough to survive the second attack it stripped it's shields and sent it tumbling into another asteroid.

"Got him. Back to base." The wing commander stated, a bit of regret in his voice. "Poor bastards." Kanna just shrugged her shoulders. Their fault for getting involved in this. Besides what else were they supposed to offer them a place within the rebellion? They would have joined long ago if that would have worked. Besides they're security people they knew the risks.

"I hope whatever he got was worth the bloodshed."

"Don't beat yourself up boss." Kanna said dropping into formation with Waver and Yelen. "We were just doing our duty weren't we?" She escorted the slower ship through the field keeping an eye out for rocks coming her way. With the threat eliminated Kanna leaned back in her flight chair with a contented sigh. She wasn't expecting action this quickly when she got here but, it was a good way to get her some experience in the Belt. In the quiet she pulled down her sleeve a little seeing the tattoo of a broken chain on her wrist. The first tattoo she got on the outside. There were plenty of ametuer tattooists in the rebellion, though there was still a charm to the prison tattoos that covered her skin.

Suron a little while later the trio arrived on Suron, the jungle planet that served as the beating heart of the rebellion in this system. It was a green world a far cry from Kessel the dead planet only know for it's prison and spice mining. She followed the flight leader and operative down through the clouds and over the wild foliage below. As they approached the base Waver and Yelen turned hard around a mountain rising up over the landscape. She followed them half fighting her fighter to fly right in the atmosphere. Eventually she came around and dropped into the pipe slipping into the slight crevasse that led into the rebel base...more a rebel cave really.

With a flare of her repulsors she brought her half-an-half fighter into the marked space. She went through her shutdown sequence before pulling off her helmet and running a hand through her short black hair. A ladder was brought to her fighter and he gladly took it getting to the deck quickly. Right away she was hit with the heat and humidity. It felt like the mining tunnels after a long shift. Taking off her harness she stripped the top of her flightsuit off tying it off round her waist. She wasn't shy, not like there was a lot of privacy where she came from. On display were her rough tattoos down her arms and across what parts of her chest and back were exposed. If people knew what they were looking at they would know her story.

5 years in the mines, been jumped, jumped others, and survived by any means necessary. Hidden among the drill bits and boot prints was a simple writhe, two bands wrapped around each other and tied together. A promise she made to someone.

Back at her fighter she pulled out the spacer's bag she'd brought with her holding all her possessions, not much. Some toiletries, a few changes of civilian clothes, and a uniform. She'd learned to travel light and carry most of her belongings on her person. Less to get lost or stolen in the move.

With her bag over her shoulder she waited for someone to tell her where she would be staying.

Alesya yelled after the boy.

"Be careful!" She quickly followed him. The little guy just had too much energy. Whatever he had found up there, he would probably not go to bed before he had shown her. So she followed him up and entered the attic.

"Okay, show me and then you brush your teeth!" She clarified the rules right away.

Alistair Ryne
Dashona

Alistair knelt in the fields near the farmhouse next to the pilot, carefully watching as the Stormtroopers and Commandoes began to disperse.

“Looks like the Commandoes are focused on our smugglers inside, which is good for us, for now,” Alistair said as the two troops clad in black armor headed for the farm while the ones in white began to spread around the perimeter. He reached down to his blaster rifle and set it for stun. “I suggest you do the same, if you can. We’ll be more quiet that way.” He pointed at the four troops individually with his index finger. “Big farm. Watch, they’ll separate to secure the perimeter. Once they’re out of earshot of each other...” He pointed at the rifle by his hip. “They’d hear normal blasts, but stun shots are quiet enough that we should be okay. And it’ll minimize the body count. By the time they wake up, we’ll be long gone.” Alistair paused to wipe a bead of sweat from his brow and pull some strands of hair out of his face in one smooth motion. He looked back at the dispersing stormtroopers. “We’ll take two each, then converge at the front door. Field should give us enough cover that the Commandoes won’t see us from inside, but stay low just in case.”

He looked at the pilot, hoping he’d kept up with everything. “You want the two on the left or the two on the right?”

Aren Voren
The Farm

Aren saw the man down there and nodded. "Sure." He said and adjusted the scope of his rifle to the distance and wind. He took aim and breathed half out.

At this distance he did not need to lie down or stabilize the rifle. He aimed for the chest, waited a moment and then pulled the trigger.

He had killed many men from a distance, but wasn't it interesting how they had turned from key-figures and soldiers into guys taking a damned walk?

Another glorious victory for the Empire. Killing a man having a walk.

Teliad, Near the Dashona Settlement

"A clan can die, but the Rebellion is an idea and ideas are hard to kill." The voice came from behind before they could enter the Star Glow Tavern.

A devaronian had seemingly appeared from nowhere.


Tesc turned immediately. He had his hands on his blaster. "Loras." He announced.

"The Stranger is ready to see these two, but not you Tesc. Your actions at Vadassa have neither been forgotten nor forgiven." Loras whispered and it sounded almost threatening.

Tesc eyed him and looked up. Dropships were entering the atmosphere. "Are you two up to this?" He asked his comrades. He had no time to argue. The Empire was here. Chaos was about to spread like a wildfire and he knew it.

Outside the Soren Farm

The shot hit the target and the man collapsed dead. Rachel nodded. "Nice shot. My file says he has a little son. Guess we might find that one in the farm." He said and looked at Aren Voren. His black mask betrayed no emotion. But somehow it seemed unlikely his face would have made any difference.

The farm was right below them.


Soren Farm

Inside the farm building Alesya had climbed the attic and Morwen was sitting right in front of her with a cylindrical object that was bound in leather.


"Look!" He yelled and pushed the only button on it. From one end a green energy blade erupted and hummed in the dark, with Morwen grinning at Alesya.

Rebel Base, Suron

"Klackklack Klack." The sound came from behind and there stood a Verpine eyeing her curiously with his insectoid eyes.


"Texly. This is our newest recruit Kanna Rohas. Kanna, meet our engineer and tech guy. He understands you actually but they cannot speak a word of basic." Waver explained. The cave was otherwise mostly empty. Two more X-Wing and an Y-Wing stood around. The wreckage of a transport served obviously as an improvised headquarter. Two Bothans just came out of it. Otherwise the base seemed very very empty. The Rebel High Command had not lied when they said the station was undermanned.


"Leave the luggage here. We gotta talk to Yelen. Let a droid take care of it." Waver said and Texly began inspecting her ship.

The ramp of the barge transport lowered down and a rather small and green rebel operative came out of it.


"Thank you, I must thank you." He smiled with his haspa voice. "You both saved me out there."

Waver sighed. "Those guys probably did nothing wrong, so please tell me whatever you stole was worse it."

Yelen smiled. "If it is what I think I found ... it is more than important. Bring me to the General, please."

Waver shook his head. "C'mon. You owe me one. Tell." Waver insisted and looked at the small green guy. Yelen sighed.

"I think I found a lead to Zero-Point-Five." He finally smiled.

Waver sighed and rolled his eyes. "Spacer legend, a lost and deactivated fleet of droid ships from the Clone Wars." He explained. Obviously he did not believe in the legend.

She turned her head at the clicking sound, finding an insectoid standing behind her. She takes a step back her hand moving towards the shiv she has tapped to her other arm. It was a reflex at this point, getting defensive when someone sneaks up behind you. Where she came from you fought back or you were hurt, no two ways about it.

"Texly. This is our newest recruit Kanna Rohas. Kanna, meet our engineer and tech guy." She nodded her head towards Texly dropping her hand to her side. Taking a moment to look around she noted the relative emptiness of the hangar. This was going to be an uphill battle if all they had were two X-Wings and a Y-Wing. "He understands you actually but they cannot speak a word of basic."

"Got it." she nodded to the Tech. "Hiya."

"Leave the luggage here." Waver said as Texly gave her ship the once over. She looked away a little embarrassed. It was clearly cobbled together on short notice. "We gotta talk to Yelen. Let a droid take care of it."

"Alright boss." she let her bag slip off her shoulder and fall to the ground. Following him over she got another surprise. Yelen was a species she'd never seen before, and she'd seen quite a lot. The Empire loved to imprison non-humans of every shape and size. Small, green and wrinkled, it wasn't ringing any bells for her but it seemed Waver knew them pretty well.

"Thank you, I must thank you." Yelen said with a croak in his voice. "You both saved me out there."

"Those guys probably did nothing wrong," Waver sighed, Kanna gave him another look. It seemed he didn't like having to kill the two security guys. To her these things were going to happen. Those that stood against her and her comrades needed to be removed. "so please tell me whatever you stole was worse it."

"If it is what I think I found …" Yelen smiled, "it is more than important. Bring me to the General, please."

"C'mon. You owe me one. Tell." The wing commander pressed, he must really want to know.

"I think I found a lead to Zero-Point-Five." Yelen smiled. Kanna looked to Waver, he had to be joking.

"Spacer legend, a lost and deactivated fleet of droid ships from the Clone Wars." The disbelief was evident in his voice. She couldn't quite believe it herself. A lot of former smugglers, and spacers that got on the wrong side of the Empire. It was one of the stories told at lights out to pass the night. They were just stories right, they couldn't be real. A fleet of droid ships just hanging out in the middle of space. Wouldn't the Seppies of known where they got lost, or the Empire have found them already. She shook her head as well.

"We chasing bedtime stories now?"

Alesya stared at the Jedi weapon in the boys hands. She knew immediately what it was. Then she stepped forward and grabbed it from his hands.

"Are you completely insane? This is dangerous!" She yelled at him. Before she could regret that ... she heard something.

A shot?

Somehow she knew it was a shot. Somehow she knew she was in danger.

Lerona absorbed the words of the Devaronian directed towards Colonel Tesc. She looked up as Tesc did and saw dropships arriving. Are we up to this? She repeated Tesc's question inwardly.

"Guess we'll find out." She murmured. "We'll have to be."

Shysa jumped a little when Loras appeared and calmed down as he spoke to them. I wonder if this is such a good idea. We have no idea if we can really trust this contact. She smiled a little Lerona's reply and nodded back at her. "We will be." She said back quietly. As Shysa looked back up at Loras she shrugged. "Just lead the way sir."
