It was written by Greg Weisman and Simon Kinberg and directed by Steward Lee.

No wonder I love this episode so much. It has Kindberg written ALL OVER IT.

They need to just kick Kevin Hopps (fighter flight and lando episode) off the writing team and let Greg and Kinberg write em all.

Thank you all for the kind words! It's great to be bringing back dear old Tarkin (as Peter Cushing called him) to Star Wars Rebels. We kept this under wraps for a loooong time! I think you all are REALLY going to enjoy the rest of this season :) MTFBWY! -- Stephen Stanton

Too bad Greg Weisman has left the team, the only good thing this does is to avoid the "Weisman Curse"

Frankly, we were all waiting for your come-back as soon as the show was announced, it had to happen and yet what a surprise it was today... now that's a strong entrance!! (too bad a certain cab driver isn't around Lothal too, but maybe there's a chance a little green frog joined the empire...) cheers! :)

I quite enjoyed Tarkin in TCW (it's very much like how I pictured a young Peter Cushing acting/talking). But yes, it is cool to see "classic" Tarkin again.

Just saw the episode and it was the best episode Star Wars Rebels yet :D 10/10
+Tarkin's entrance was so epic and I can't wait too see more of him
+Tarkin is so fricking badass, he's even bossing the Inquisitor around. He's got such a commanding presence and **** goes down when he steps into the picture :D
    +Great voice acting Stephen Stanton
    +Awesome action
    +Awesome character interactions
+The ending scene with Kanan staying behind was so emotional and heartbreaking =((
A+ The scene in Tarkin's office was one of the best star wars scenes I've ever seen, seeing Aresko and Grint getting more and more concerned with the Inquisitor standing behind and then he just murders them. We really get to see what a cold man Tarkin is.
-/+It's nitpicking but I thought that Tarkin looked ridiculous in that helmet :p

I might be stoned to death around these parts for saying something like this, but I actually have come to identify Tarkin more with your portrayal of the character... of course Cushing is iconic and I'm not putting him down in any way, but we did get to spend a lot more time with the character in The Clone Wars!

I'm flattered you would say that--we DID have a chance to explore the character in more depth in TCW--but it's certainly Mr. Cushing's incredible portrayal in ANH that cemented the character in all of our minds and gave me something to build from. My mission every time I get behind the mic is to portray him as true to Peter Cushing's creation of the character as possible--I can think of no better way to pay homage to such a talented & versatile actor :)

Oh man, that episode. Things just got real.

Tarkin bossing everyone around was epic, especially the Inquisitor.
Double beheading on WatchDisney, so cool and so right in that scene
    Empire stepping up its game
Setting up perfectly for the next episode where they need to rescue Kanan
Things are moving along plot wise
Inquisitor is still badass despite being shown as a lacky
Action and score were all great too. Imperial March blasting in the background whie they redo the ROTJ opening was epic

So good. Next two episodes are gonna be good watching.

    Also:

I like flunky Inquisitor. Puts things into perspective when he's someone else's bitch. Reminds me of the legend that was Randy too.
And how great was it to see Kallus and that annoying governor lady put in their place and visibly shocked by the double execution right in front of them. I know these kinds of scenes are a dime a dozen in fiction but Star Wars always knows how to sell its villains.

What was Hera's reaction when Kanan turned himself over to the Empire?

She was angry/concerned, but not devastated or anything. She was trying to not get killed at the time.

Oh, okay. Thanks. :) Do you think Lothal might be lost at the end of the season? I mean, judging by how dark this episode seems to be. (I haven't seen it yet, but I'm just going by comments here.)

It seems Ezra and them might of just sparked an uprising by the locals so I think the city might be leveled by some Star Destroyers, Tarkin and such.

Tarkin always was one of the most competent Imperials. His undoing in ANH wasn't incompetence, but overconfidence. And even that was kind of understandable in context. He and Vader were the only Imperials that never made me go "wow that was really dumb" in the OT.

My Review for Call to Action.

    • Imperial March is always a good way to start the episode. :D
    • Good to see Tarkin.
    • And he’s still the same old guy.
    • “And they died. Every last one of them.”
    • The speeder bike chase scene was pretty good though.
    • And now the Ghost crew are officially enemies of the Empire.
    • I hope that makes it harder for them to stay hidden though.
    • ….The Inquisitor just killed Aresko and Grint and I freaked out a little. I wonder if Kallus and Maketh are going to meet the same fate? I hope not. I like them.
    • But seriously Tarkin isn’t playing around.
    • Ezra: “Does it see us?” Sabine: “Not yet.” Ezra: “How can you tell?” Sabine: “ Because were not dead.”
    • Lol. xD Omg the space cat attacked the Imperial Probe and it was brilliant.
    • Can I just say how much I loved Kanan’s talk with Ezra?
    • Wow, this is getting so good.
    • I love the music when Kanan is standing his ground while Ezra and the others escape.
    • The ending was great too, but I have a feeling things are going to be a lot harder for them from here on out.
    • Also, if the citizens stand up for themselves; does that mean that Lothal will be lost in the final episodes?
    • Anyway, this was an outstanding episode. I give it a 10/10

hi, newbie here. I went into this episode without any spoilers.

when I heard the imperial march along with that escorted shuttle in the intro I actually thought for a second that Vader might make an appearance. Wasn't disappointed.
