ST Rey's New Lightsaber

Red of course.

She will bring peace, freedom, justice, and security to the Galaxy.

 

I'm gonna guess purple single-bladed.

But my personal preference would be a blue double-bladed saber -- it would represent Rey carrying on the light side of the Skywalker legacy (as previously embodied in the ST by the blue Skywalker saber) but also making that legacy her own. She's a staff-wielding orphan from Jakku -- have her proudly embrace that heritage and let her have her staff back.

I do NOT think she will have:
- A single bladed blue saber -- blue is too similar to the Anakin saber and she needs to be moving on from that legacy
- A single bladed green saber -- too similar to Luke's blue--blue--green pattern in the OT
- A yellow saber -- I would love to see a stunning golden-hued saber on the silver screen but I don't think it would really pop like the other colors (esp against Kylo's red saber) so I think yellow will be out for aesthetic reasons.

Star Wars can do it. Whether they will though, I don't know.

 

Can't say I'm particularly bothered by the colour but Rey needs to make her own. Clone Wars had a whole arc on the importance of a Jedi making their own lightsaber.

 

Pink because she's a girl and girls like pink.
AND she should wear leather trousers too and her hair should be more flowing and she should have bright lipstick because LONG LIVE THE EU!!!!!

Okay so I'm kidding of course. Actually I like to think R2 just has Luke's green sabre tucked away in his dome but just hasn't told anyone yet so when the time is right he'll just flip out so she can use it to kill off the Knights of Red or something

 

I’m hoping for gold/white. Always thought it would be a great on screen saber color. Symbolically maybe even hinting that Rey and the new Jedi are entering a new golden age of light.

 

Green.

We haven't seen enough green.

 

Yellow.

 

Likely she'll repair Anakin's, so it will still be blue. It's the legacy lightsaber, but I think it should be completely destroyed at the end of IX. Like breaking a curse on a sword, then she'll have her own and it should be yellow.

She will have a rainbow lightsaber. It will unleash happiness whenever she ignites it.

 

It will be green, same as Luke's which makes sense. Balance is combination of red and blue = green. Simple

 

I like the idea of double bladed weapon and think this is where it will end up. The color is another story. I like the idea of having 2 colors, but then there's the question of which two? I'm not a fan of the red at all, because of it's traditional representation of pure evil in the GFFA. Green and Blue would be cool, but seems a bit too safe, and not enough contrast to really justify different colors. Maybe they go an entirely different direction, and use orange as one of the colors, or they could use the idea of a color changing lightsaber. That way she could accessorize by matching the saber to her outfit...

 

I suspect it will be the two broken crystals made into the double-sided saber but because the crystals are broken it will have a visual look a little closer to Kylo Ren's where it's a little more damaged looking. So, it will be blue but rougher around the edges than the original was.

 

Um, red and blue does not make green. It makes purple.

 

Purple’s the worst.

If it’s a new color, I’d like to see white or yellow.

Green is a combination of blue and yellow, I’m afraid.

 

It will be double bladed pink and blue.

And the SW internet community will erupt in fury.

 

I'm going to guess blue. The crystal inside the Skywalker lightsaber looked like it was still intact, so she may just repurpose that inside of a hilt that's more suited to her personal specifications.

 

I think she is going to use Anakin's crystal, so the logical thing is that the lightsaber has to be blue. If she gets her own I'd like it to be double and green.

 

Red and blue make Purple. Which says a lot about Mace Windu

Off topic but...

Could Kylo have fixed his cracked crystal and it's no longer bleeding by the time we get to E9? It would
Show his progress. A slightly new hilt. Smooth red blade. Could be on to something here...

 

Fixing it? Or using spare parts from it? Or just the crystal?

Personally, I don't think we will see what happened to it in E9. We will just see her with a new hilt, IGNITE then the color. (GREEN) I'm hoping for a double blade staff

 

Something about Kylo's RED blade on Rey's GREEN blade in the month of DECEMBER a week before Christmas feels right.
