ST Allegiant General Pryde/Richard E. Grant in Episode IX

I think his role is willing to negotiate with the Resistance/Republic for peace either because he is sick of all the fighting or because of that rumoured other threat. I thought the Republic and Empire treaty was really satisfying in Legends after all the years of fighting that went on, I'd love to see it on the big screen.

FORCE MAJEURE
First Order leaders General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) and Allegiant General Pryde (Richard E. Grant) on the bridge of Kylo Ren’s destroyer.

 

Grant looks badass. Always loved that more sort of 19th/early 20th century European or Russian navy look to the FO uniforms, that coat of his really fits that feel.

Kind of a weird shot though, Gleeson almost looks photoshopped in or something. Doubt he is, just looks a little odd, maybe just magazine airbrushing at play or something.

 

Grants involvement kinda makes me think Kylo will actually be doing his own thing while General Pryde will be leading the first order.

That picture seriously looks like a painting. Or like, someone went crazy with Photoshop filters.

 

I get a bit of that sense too, but tend to think Ben'll at least start the movie as the Grand Poobah of the FO. Maybe something along the way with the MacGuffin sends him out on some solo quest, or with the Knights, either this guy makes a play and takes over or Ben's just delegated running the show to this guy in order to keep the FO out of Hux's hands?

Given his age, I wonder if Pryde has any inside information on Palpatine, but was purposefully meant to operate separate from Hux, Phasma and Kylo in order to keep that information from them.

I swear hux was meant to be Tarkin. but they made him so unbelievably over the top it didn't work. shouting doesn't make someone menacing.

 

General Pryde looks badass as Thrawn.

 

Then they made him look goofy so they need a true villain like Tarkin or Thrawn.
