Discussion ROGUE SQUADRON - Patty Jenkins Film Potentially Back On

No. Just my personal opinion. This movie has been in developmental purgatory for like 5 years. It was supposed to release last year. It won’t release before 2030 at the earliest now.

 

Unless they do 2 movies a year, i dont see this come before 2029.

 

Like I said, let's hope I'm proven wrong.

Considering it'll be over half a decade since anyone's seen a SW film in theaters by that point, I personally wouldn't mind seeing two a year-at least for a little while. As long as they're not rushing production on them to achieve some "two a year" quota. If they happen to have two films ready within 12 years time, then sure I'll look forward to seeing them both!

At any rate, we won't be anywhere close to experiencing "SW fatigue" - at least for several years to come!

I'd feel a lot better if something officially was announced for this by Lucasfilm and casting rumors started rolling in did I mention Gal Gadot would be awesome in this?

 

If this does happen it won’t be for a while since we have The Mandalorian and Grogu first followed by the Rey film. So I wouldn’t hold my breath on any casting rumors coming any time soon.

I actually missed the drift entirely, as my understand of the movie is that it will bring together the various elements of the post-ROTJ television storytelling. So I thought you were referring to some other rumor about a film centered on Ahsoka.

 

If anything it’s a subconsciously derivative title as toward my dislike of Ahsoka still existing. Really I should be calling it the Dave Filoni movie

INO it would be dumb for Lucasfilm to take a name it sets expectations way to much

 

Not really we are halfway there.

 

I agree with the point that Ahsoka will undoubtedly feature heavily in any Filoni movie that's set during a time when she could conceivably appear; he can't help it. And I also think it could have a name other than Heir to the Empire, but of that I am less confident.
