My name is Clara Pluton and I am in my third year of a Media Studies and Sociology Course at City University in London I am writing my dissertation on people like you… on Star Wars fans The title of my dissertation is “How do Star Wars fans use new media in order to form community?” I need fan creators like yourself in order to answer this question for both myself and for the greater good in hopes of being part of the process that will aid in legitimizing ‘abstract’ communities such as this one. This would consist of a >30 minute skype interview in which I would ask you a variety of questions on how you commenced your relationship with the fan community, the friends and bonds that you have made within the community, and how your creations have changed and challenged your commitments to Star Wars. Reporting in from Co.Armagh N.Ireland here. Not as hardcore as most fans are with star wars but still a pretty big fan of the franchise. Heading to Belfast mcm comic con next month and am hoping and expecting to see a lot of star wars cosplay at it
