Lurking here, I've noted some audiophiles griping about the ROTJ SE release's sound quality. I wonder: is the Sony Classical release any better (I'm assuming one exists -- I haven't looked for it)? I've been itching to swap my 1997 booklets for normal plastic case versions for a long time now -- this would be one more reason to do so.

If you're referring to the edition that came out earlier this year (or was it late last year now?), the no, the sound quality's no better.

No, the sound quality is not improved.

Also, the Sony release doesn't come with the excellent liner notes the RCA one had. Instead, you get screensavers.

Ewwwww! I guess I'll keep my eyes peeled for the slimcase edition of the RCA releases, then, and see if I can trade my booklets for 'em. I like liner notes.
