[Round Four] Game 1: The Power Converters vs. The Dancing Ewoks

Looks like we might be going to the Tosche Station to pick up some Dancing Ewoks!!!

 

Neither team could get it done in the normal four rounds! Welcome back and ! This is the Sudden Death Round!

In this round I'll be sending the question to the next players in line. Point totals are again tripled but I'm looking for the number one answer only. So it's pretty simple: get the number one answer and you win the game for your team. That's it! However, if no player gets the number one answer then we move down to the next players in line. If both get the number one answer then we move to the next players in line with a new question. Everyone understand? Let's get going!

3 rounds vs 1 (the math still seems to me, can we not do the mod rounds next year since it throws everything off) - will soon be 4 rounds vs 1

 

Next year? LOL. The last time these happened were the 10th anniversary in 2008, which I sadly missed being part of, but I don't think we'll see this game again until 2028. If we're lucky and we ask nicely, maybe at the 25 year?!

 

First round: 83 points
Second round: 84 points
Third round: 33 points
Fourth round: 219 points

 

Yeah, having the mod squad question in Round 3 instead of Round 2 kind of messed things up a bit. But even if it were in the second round and we did the 250 points to win we'd still be here because no one got to 250 after round four. SO STOP COMPLAINING!!!

 

I don't really think the order of the rounds matters much anyway, does it? I was more just talking about the points totals for each round. Anyway, it's all good.

That was a good answer and it would have been on the board if this were a regular round. It just wasn't the number one answer so have a chance to win the whole game with this answer!

Congratulations ! I don't think it was any secret that I was rooting for you all in this tournament. This is a tough loss but you played fantastic throughout the tournament. Like I said earlier both teams deserve to move on!

All right now comes the fun part! You must choose two players to take part in the Fast Money Round for colors! Those two teammates will be sent the same five questions. You cannot consult with each other or your other teammates when answering. Your combined point total will determine how long the colors for your team will last:

If they score a combined total of fewer than 50 points the prize is for 24 hours.
Score of 51-99 points the prize is for 48 hours
Score of 100-149 the prize is for 72 hours
Score of 150 and 199points the prize is for 96 hours
200 points of more the prize is for 1 week.

So get with your teammates and decide who you're going to send to the Fast Money Round!

Sorry The Power Converters! You were great opponents and made this game fun to watch. Don't go to Heaven or Helsinki, but if you do go somewhere, like a pub to drown your sorrows, have one for me!

 

Not to come off as the whiny one, but typically each round is with more than the one before it. But round three was worth int 24 points TOTAL.

That makes zero sense. In our case, we manage to steal and win a round with all but one answers worth of points on the table yet the entire round was worth less than a single answer in ny other round.

I’m sorry, but that is really flawed. Should not round three be worth more points Than round one or two, and if there were only 24 available points TOTAL for that round, shouldn’t it be prorated to reflect an equivalent value??

Otherwise the round is kind of pointless and worth next to nothing.

Hypothetically, if the mod question was round 2 then the 11 points would have been doubled to 22
and round 3's 42 points would be tripled to 126.

So hypothetically, it would have been
1: 83
2: 22
3: 126

Your total would have been 231 which would still have not been enough points to win - still resulting in the same series of events with the 4th and 5th round so....

 

I'm not a sore loser, but the way it ended kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I really would suggest throwing out the mod surveys next time around. They are too subjective, unless they are prorated to be worth a base 100 (doubled/tripled according to the round) they really screw up the flow and course of the game and are kind of useless.

 

I hear ya. In our play in game, we got 8 points from the mod question round which didn't help us in the slightest in the end. I think the idea was that the mod questions were supposed to add some fun to the game but I understand it's frustrating as they didn't help in winning the game because the points didn't matter.

 

Congratulations on the exciting game, players! I honestly thought Hitler would be #2 on the 'most portrayed historical figures' list ...

 

It's my next favorite quote of the game so far other than Show Me a Stripper.
