Irishi pushed the gigantisk oak doors aside and entered the quiet and chilly training arena. Her Padawan has just recently written an essay about the five lightsaber forms and noticed her which form he's interested in learning more about. The time has come to put thing into practise. She remember herself how much time she had laid down in lightsaber practise to polish and master Soresu. Good, old times, she smiled to herself.

She took off her Jedi robe, folded it nicely together and placed on a wooden bench on the far side of the arena. Then she walked to the center of the arena, unclipped her lightsaber, sat down and crossed her leg. Then she placed her lightsaber in front of her and closed her eyes. Always nice to begin a lightsaber practise with a semi-meditation.

Waking from what felt like an endless dream, Blarg made his way down the wide, marble hallway. He always imagined that the ultimate feat of stealth would be to produce silent steps on this hard, clamorous floor. The long walk allowed him time to ponder about what comes next. I'm a padawan now, Blarg thought. Opportunities are everywhere! But most of all, he thought about all the people he was going to save. And not through endless acrobatics or harsh saber attacks either. Blarg was destined for another type of mediation.

Blarg stopped at the immense oak doors leading to the training area. He didn't know what to expect other than furthering his knowledge of the Soresu lightsaber form. He knew it was mainly for defense, but he worked under the idea that a spectacular offense was achieved by a disciplined defense. A bead of sweat rolled down the side of Blarg's temple. I can do this, he thought. I have to.

Moments later, Blarg pushed open the wooden doors and eyed the expanse in front of him. Appropriately lit by sunlight beaming down from the thick clerestory windows above, the training area was then a place of silence. Blarg scanned the room to find a lone individual sitting towards the center. His Master. She appeared to be meditating, with her legs crossed and her thoughts focused on what Blarg had only just begun to understand. Unsure if this was part of the training, Blarg made his way toward his Master and sat in front of her, closing his eyes and meditating.

Sometime during her semi-meditation, she noticed someone walking towards the training ground. Reaching further out with the Force, she found that it was her Padawan. Paying attentions with her Padawan through the Force, Irishi went through the most important things that one should learn/know about Soresu in her mind.

Moments later, her Padawan was sitting cross-legged in front of her and meditating. Through the Force, Irishi also felt that her Padawan was a bit nervous. Welcome, my friend. Glad to see that you manage to find your way to the training arena. At the same time, Irishi reached out with the Force, trying to calm her Padawan's nerves, Now, now. You must be calm, my young friend. Be one with the Force, it will guide you.

Opening her eyes, she grabbed her lightsaber, turned down the power of the blade so that it won't cut her Padawan in half if it made contact with him. We don't want that! And she stood up.

The Jedi Master entered the courtyard in a serene silence. His apprentice stood on the opposite end of the court yard.
"For this exercise..." The Ongree began. "I want you to focus on lightsaber technique. Force powers are not off limits, but they should be used tactically. Do not rely on them alone."
As consular, their instinct to call on the force would be natural. But as Jedi, their lightsaber skills must not be neglected.
Semajj threw is brown over-cloak on the ground, as he plucked the training lightsaber off his belt, and raised it over his cranium at an angle.
"Trust your in yourself apprentice. The Force may guide your hand."
His emerald blade ignited, parallel to his outstretched arm.

Vanora has examined the manual on lightsaber forms & tries to mentally prepare for the exercise. She mirrors the stance of Master Nosrep.
Being left-handed primarily, her pose is literally the mirrored image of his.

The Jedi knew a spar required action, and as he was the Master it only seemed right he be the one to begin the fight.
Semajj moved forward swiftly, bringing his blade down into a two handed grip, flawlessly switching to the more aggressive form V.
He swung hard, though not overwhelmingly so, at Vanora's right shoulder, testing her defenses as he moved forward.

Vanora held her training saber lightly -- it was perfectly balanced for her weight and height, and the blue glow it exuded was her favorite color. She hoped that when it came time to build her own actual saber, she would find a blue or green crrystal.

Vanora watched as Master Nosrep swung hard, though not overwhelmingly so, at her right shoulder, testing her defenses; he moved forward.

Vanora brought her training saber up to block at just the correct oblique angle, so that the others saber was deflected harmlessly to the side.

"Good form." The Ongree stated. He took note of her strong defensive stance, that her instinct was not to counterattack after diverting his blade. Patience was essential for the study of form three. That is a virtue many apprentices struggle with, even those who prefer diplomacy, as Consular's usually do. "It is natural to desire a swift end to any conflict." He continued, as he twirled his blade. "But it is the prerogative of any Jedi to bring about an end that causes the least amount of permanent damage."

Without missing a beat, and less than a second after he concluded his explanation he swung again, the point of the lightsaber came down subtly towards her left knee at an angle. "Stay alert, remember your sequences."

Vanora was happy with Nosrep's commendation, and listened attentively as he continued:
"It is natural to desire a swift end to any conflict." He twirled his blade. "But it is the prerogative of any Jedi to bring about an end that causes the least amount of permanent damage."

In a fluid movement and less than a second after he concluded his explanation, he gracefully moved the point of the lightsaber down subtly towards her left knee at an angle. "Stay alert, remember your sequences." He advised.
Vanora compensated with what she hoped was or would soon be equal elegance and agility to position her own blade at her hip, angled downwards. Then she decided to test the waters by making an overt move of her own. So she riposted with her blade at Nosrep's left side, towards the shoulder.

"Be sure to hold your arms strong and high." The Master spoke as he transitioned into a defensive sequence. "It's easier to lower them than to raise them."*
Semajj deflected Vanora's blade to the right before launching on another aggressive attack. With a two handed force he thrust his blade at her right shoulder, using his momentum to drag his blade down and left towards her hip, but he did not stop his lesson even then.

"With Soresu, you must be patient, and observant. Do not exhaust yourself on attack, your first goal is to survive. Wait for your opponent to grow frustrated, make sure it is they who makes the first mistake."

Semajj deflected Vanora's blade to the right before starting another aggressive attack.
Using a two-handed grip, he aimed his blade at her right shoulder, using his momentum to drag his blade down and then to the left, towards her hip.

Vanora watched his movements attentively so as to be immediately responsive as well as to take note of the skillful technique.

"With Soresu, you must be patient and observant. Do not exhaust yourself on attack; your first goal is to survive. Wait for your opponent to grow frustrated, make sure it is they who makes the first mistake."

Vanora absorbed the words and moved simultaneously by shifting her own blade to the side and positioned at a perpendicular plane so as to deflect the other's blade further out and to the side. She then moved back to the opening position so as to be ready to move in any direction.

"Wise." The Ongree stated as his apprentice fell back into a defensive stance. "Offense is not Soresu's strong suit." He stated as he arced his blade back into attack position.
"So you must be tactical when using it. Every strike must have a purpose. You must plan three steps ahead, lure them into a position that fits your endgame."
Semajj decided to push a little harder, offering three fast slashes at her abdomen so as to see how effectively she had learned her knew form.
