One of the reasons I make the comparison is that Grindelwald seems to care for his followers, or at least isn't unnecessarily cruel to him. He inspires loyalty, even if he's full of BS.

Voldemort, however, inspires terror and fear in even most of his followers, save for Bellatrix and Barty Crouch Jr., who were mental anyway. Even the idea of the Emperor visiting the Death Star caused fear among the Imperial military, and Vader himself said, "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am."

The ironic thing about my comparison of Grindelwald to Magneto is Zoe Kravitz: she starred in two movies where she was tempted and/or joined or pretended to join them. Her character first joined Sebastian Shaw, then joined Magneto at the end of First Class; in Crimes of Grindelwald, she pretends to join Grindelwald (echoing Darwin's attempt of deception against Shaw in First Class).

I can't believe the xmen franchise is finished

Did anyone see dark Phoenix?

It will be nice when they finally join the mcu

 

It might be some time before we see a fully fledged X-Men movie in the MCU.

However, I think they might include a character here or there. Maybe Xavier offering to help Spider-Man with the "everyone knows your identity" problem in a mid or post-credits scene in the next Spider-Man movie?

 

I think they said it would be at least 5 years before we see xmen in the MCU

Grindelwald reminds me of PT Sidious, something I should’ve been more clear about in my other post on the subject lol, while Voldemort reminds me more of the OT incarnation of the Emperor. At least as far as their approaches to corruption go, which was the main point I was trying to make. Haha

Do you know how I know that the US government has never had contact with aliens and Area 51 is just an advanced weapons research facility? Because it’s the US government and any time they have a secret it gets leaked. That’s how it’s pretty easy to tell that the government is not hiding aliens.

While yes it was. It was still infiltrated by Soviet spies. The secret there was only kept for a few years. Where’s Area 51 has been around since the 1940s.

 

You understand of course the intrinsic flaw in this line of logic: "I know all their secrets because their secrets always get leaked." Think about it for a moment...

That being said, I do not subscribe to any beliefs that Earth has in some way been visited or contacted by extra-terrestrial intelligence.

 

Faster than light travel just isn’t possible. While I believe there is other intelligent life in the universe I don’t think it is capable for them to get out of their local cluster of solar systems just as we probably never will.
