The Evil Dead remake was good. I respect your opinion about it being better VJ but you're insane and probably should be in a straightjacket. As for Quake I am amazed how well it holds up, it is one intense shooter.

The Karate Kid remake

I bring that up every time we have this discussion and I will not back down

although it’s been a while since I’ve watched it

and I’ve never seen the original

 

I am a big fan of the original KK but thought the remake was just as good. @Ingram_I s head explodes.

Jk of course; agree to disagree. Trying to think of other stuff...imo the Hannibal Lector verse is a good example of varied folks taking a stab at that material. Not all of the works are as well done as others, but most of it is different enough & brings new aspects of the story to the table.

 

The Nightmare on Elm Street remake was good, although I'm clearly in the minority on that one.

Agree! I like both, they have different tones which I like, makes me appreciate each on their own.

 

Didn't quite finish editing my finale tonight, but only 3 sections left to wrap up tomorrow. I dunno, it works in general, but there's a slight spark missing. Not sure how to refine it as of yet, but at least it's a solid enough climax, something to build on.

Also, I'm trying to think of any reboot I've seen that I like. I guess I prefer Spider-Man in the MCU to how it was before... that's it for movies.

As for tv, I guess TMNT 2003 is a reboot, the second show of that franchise (and my favourite). It's more of a direct adaption of the comics though, while the 1980's show sort of did its own thing, so 2003 wasn't really a straight 'remake'.

That's why I don't like the live action Disney ones, they don't do nearly enough new with the concepts

I remember back in the day my brother got a PSP and it came with The Karate Kid and at first I thought it was like a game based on the movie but nope it was just an actual disc that you could plop in and play the actual movie (the remake)

Then when I bought the PSP from him cause he had a ton of music stored on there somehow (I didn’t have any other way to listen to music at that time and I wanted to listen to it in art class) I didn’t take the disc out and it kept starting up without me telling it to for some reason so I could just hear it loudly starting up through the headphones throughout the day (luckily it never happened when it would have been embarrassing)
