Man, I gotta tell ya... If there's one uber-popualar franchise/movieverse that I for one could just never get into, it's all things Harry Potter. I've sat through every installment and...nnnope. Nothing. No purchase whatsoever. None of them are badly made, necessarily;I suppose The Sorcerer's Stone remains a solid enough kids movie for its own part while Prisoner of Azkaban is the most artfully directed of the bunch, but overall its a world that I simply don't care about. From storytelling to world-building, there's too much sentimentalism in place of genuine themes and, some clever FX sequences aside, a superficial use of fantasy.

Maybe at some point I should get around to rewatching the whole series to perhaps gain a fresher perspective, but it's hard to work up the enthusiasm. Sorry if I'm being a killjoy.

Yeah, I'd have to agree, attempted to read the Hobbit and didn't get into it. I don't really know why, it's just not my thing.

Also, since last night, my fanfic has passed 400 hits!

It went up by about 20 overnight, I'm very glad to see people are reading it

We're off for a walk to the village of Monyash today, weather looks like it'll be nice.

 

I thought LOTR: FOTR was boring. But the tv I saw it on is small w/awful sound, so I wasn’t paying full attention. Need to rewatch & see the rest.

HP movies are good, nice casting, just was never a Potterhead. So many ppl in HS were into that & Twilight, while I didn’t care at all. I’d like to get into HP but at this point idk if I can.

So much to still see lol. Goodness knows there’s things I used to totally not understand the love for, like SW & horror genre, that I love now.

Who is worse: Umbridge or Voldy?

I feel ashamed that I didn’t know who Coleman Trebor was at first, but after googling I’m proud to be him.

 

Especially people who let the movies turn them off from the books.
