We had a great time but it went by soooo fast! Galaxy's Edge was awesome and I can't wait to go back. I'll try and post some pictures later this week.

Watched 11-22-63 and really liked it. It's based on a Stephen King book about a man who goes back in time to try to stop the Kennedy assassination, and winds up with a whole new life and love in 63. Really good, James Franco does a good job in the lead. I never read the book but now I want to. Has a twist ending M Knight Shamalan would be proud of. It's a Hulu miniseries.

He lost me around Tommyknockers and Dreamcatcher, which were awful. I think for a while after It and The Stand he had nothing left. I think he stopped using an editor, and just rambled on and on. I started a bunch of his books but none grabbed me like that first chapter of It or The Shining. Unfortunately when he stopped drinking he couldn't write as well. :D Good for his health, bad for his art.

that is sometimes why his short stories are better.

He doesn't ramble on half as long as he does in some of those.

There is this one weird short story he did where there a finger coming out the sink in the bathroom. At first it's just a normal finger, but it grows and grows :p

Carrie is a really good book, and a relatively short one for him. His first novel.

you can watch a TV adaptation of the moving finger on youtube:

just type: Monsters: The moving finger :p

they did a few of King's short stories from Nightmares and Dreamscapes in its own TV series of the same name.

I rec. Skeleton Crew to people. A collection of short stories, most from the 70's. The Mist was in there. And The Raft from Creepshow 2. And The Jaunt, which the It director is doing next. That is messed uuuuup.

Hello everyone, been out to Oxford today, visited two museums, and got a lot of photos :p I'll split this into two posts, so buckle up. First off, in Westgate shopping centre where we started were these two funny art pieces:

Since I know some of you like it when I show off the nice food I eat out, I present this delicious brownie from Danish bakery Ole and Steen:

This is the old Oxford Castle/Prison, I've never been inside, but maybe someday:

Some cute art of a Moomin and Peter Rabbit:

I spotted those inside Blackwell's a famous bookshop that's so large it had three separate buildings in Oxford to fill all the books on offer. Here's a view of the massive underground floor of its main bookshop, known as the Norrington Room:

Randomly on one desk I spotted this old model ship of unknown origin:

What awaited me in Blackwell's Graphic Novel section...?:

Yep, a Dalek, it was awesome :D
    [IMG]

On a side street I passed this terribly worn down mascot statue outside a cookie shop, guy's seen better days:

Our first museum of the day was the Natural History museum cause my cousin, the Wizard, loves the subject, with dinosaurs as a particular fave. I've shared photos from here before, so I tried to spot new quirky stuff worth highlighting. Right by the entrance was this bear:

A cast of the skeleton of an Edmontosaurus:

The Wizard posing next to a Triceratops skull:

A delightfully derpy beaver, I never did actually find out what species it was meant to be ;):

A view down at the main collection of large animal skeletons (I took closeups last time I was here):

Amidst the insect section was a fun case that probably hasn't been updated in over 20 years, judging by the VHS:

A little fox I nearly missed by the entrance:

This is the gorgeous exterior of the museum (thankfully not showing the huge construction area currently blocking most of the front lawn):
