The Meaning Of Love By, ThatJediGirl

    Anakin's p.o.v

I once wondered what love was. The true meaning. The emotion. The power of such a simple word.

The sun finally sunk into the heavens beyond the blue sea to reveal the starry sky
above. Millions of stars twinkled high in the atmosphere, shinning like a diamond in the reflection of the sun. Just like home, suddenly enters my mind, so much like home.

The ability to change one?s life for forever, that word holds.

Love is not something to be played with. It?s not a food to be passed around. Love
is real. Love is what keeps my life life together.

I know the meaning of love. The know that when I am held I am loved. I know that when I am kissed I am loved.

I know that when I love, I am loved.

I turn my gaze back up to the many starry sky wondering how I could be so lucky as to have found my love.

But I did, and I thank the heavens above for that.

The gentle night breeze ruffles my hair, sending goosebumps along my chilled skin.
I tighten my arms around the wondrous beauty laying in my arms.

    So beautiful.

    So caring.

The sound of crashing waves creates a simple melody in the silence of the night and
I stand, extending my hand for it to be taken. The beating of our hearts slow to
become one as we sway to the unnamed song.

We must have danced for hours like that. Neither of us caring if we were seen or
    who saw us.

I look into her eyes. Those beautiful eyes of the darkest chocolate. The way they sparkle in the moonlight.

I lean my face down slowly to hers, just enough so I can feel her breath on my lips.

    ?I love you Am.?

I say before passionately kissing her, the action sending shivers throughout me.
The kiss is slow, passionate, and breath taking. My lips linger on hers only momentarily, remembering the taste of her lips.

    ?I love you to Ani.?

Nothing more is said, all that matters is that we love and are loved.

    Padme?s p.o.v.

    ?.................... when I close my eyes it?s you I see ...................?

    ?I love you Am.?

I look into those eyes. Those intense eyes. Those sweet innocent eyes. Eyes of the bluest morning sky.

I could get lost in them.

My arms around his neck, I look him straight in his eyes, marveling over the beauty of such a simple color. But his eyes are anything but simple. His eyes are fierce, bold, and loving. His heart could tell a story, but his eyes tell his life. He caresses my cheek with the back of his
hand, tilting my head up to kiss me.

His lips touch mine, electrifying my body and soul. Tiny goosebumps arise on my arms. His touch is like fire, burning everything it comes in contact with, sending chills down my spine.

We separate, his lips hesitate to leave mine and mine his, remembering it is oxygen that is needed to breathe.

?I love you you too Ani.? The words flow from my lips naturally.

We walk hand and hand down the star lit beach, relishing in the tranquillity the night holds. The waves wash onto shore, tickling my feet with each splash.

This must be love. This wonderful feeling filling my self control, allowing me to be free.

Two arms snake around my waist, enveloping me into a loving embrace. He buries his head into my neck, taking in the aroma of my lilac scented hair.

?I wish it could be this way for forever Ani.? I say, breathing in the fresh smell of the night?s water. He turns me around, looking me straight in my eyes before getting down on one knee. ?Ani....?

He reaches into the sleeve of his tunic, revealing a small black box. He opens it, holding it up to me. It a blue sapphire on a silver band. Absentmindedly my hands grab at my chest and tears begin to form in my eyes, as well as his. I can feel my breathing begin to quicken, and the tears come more and more.

    ?Padme, will you marry me??

I wipe away my tears, saying a simple,?Yes.?

He hugs my waist, bringing my up into the air, twirling us around in a circle. I begin to laugh and he sets me

    *sigh* that was wonderful.

I'm a closeted mush-fan. Maybe I should try it, no one is reading my fic. but i don't like to get toooooooo mushy, partially because (forgive me) I like blood and guts too. Action, romance, and comedy, the perfect story! I know I lack mush, partially because of my amazing inexperience...never had a single mushy moment in my life... so I'm putting this up for the cutting board. Like I said, I'm terrible at mush.

"Jacen, the transmission is flopped," Syana said over her shoulder to Jacen. Jacen put down the papers he had been shoving into the dozens of cabinets, and stepped over to the terminal, which Syana sat at, typing in controls and codes. Standing behind her, he stared at the blank screen and put his arms about her to try to type in a command. She fingered a piece of hair behind her hair, and tossed Jacen a look. "You could have just asked me to move, you know."

He grinned. "Much more fun this way though," he laughed. "So what's wrong?" he said seriously, all joking aside. She punched in commands, and squinted at the terminal monitor. Jacen was never very accurate with computers, and the characters looked like unfamiliar letters and numbers of an entirely different galaxy, jumbled in rows of code that he didn't quite understand.

"The terminal won't connect, and my comlink's dead. A strange look passed over Jacen's face, as he squinted his eyes at the bright screen. Reaching for his at his belt, he fumbled the switch on, but Syana was right, the transmission was gone. His comlink was dead too. He shook his head.

"Something's wrong, but I can't feel it," Jacen muttered. Her eyes moved to Jacen, watching the concerned look across his face.

"I don't have any of your crazy Force power stuff, but I've got a bad feeling about this," Syana said, continuing to punch in commands. "There's no use to it," she said moving away from the computer, slumping on the couch. "What are you laughing about, Jacen?" she chided with a taunting look. Jacen laughed even harder, and fell backwards on the couch beside her.

"You," he said choking on a laugh.

"Oh, you think you're all tough, don't you Jacen?" she said, swinging a playful punch at his arm.

Jacen made a face, and grinned wickedly. "Now you're asking for it," he teased. Leaning over, he moved himself to return the gesture. Jacen sat up on his haunches, but lost his balance, falling into his attack. He looked at her trapped underneath him and shook his head, laughing still. Suddenly he stopped, and his laughter dropped to an embarrassed smile. That, too, disappeared, and he found himself lost in her eyes. They were rich with color and deep with emotion. He vaguely realized he was practically on top of her, but made no action to move. She didn't resist.

Syana felt a gentle pressure rise in her stomach, as she stared back at Jacen, the room was silent. She felt as if her head was swimming high among the clouds as she felt the electricity of his solid arms around her. Syana blinked twice, and found herself leaning towards him slowly; barely noticing that Jacen's actions were similar. She could feel his warm breath against her neck, though she shivered at his touch.

Suddenly, Jacen snapped from the trance as he heard knocking on the door. He practically leaped off of the couch, feeling tremendously embarrassed. "Jacen, you ugly idiot, open the door!" he heard a familiar voice call.

and so forth. haha, poor jacen (that was jaina at the end, by the way). there is also a semi-mushy part with jaina and jag, but that's a long way off. by the way, this isn't posted on my story yet, soooooooo lucky you. get to criticize it before anyone else does.

Hehe, that was so cute! Don't you just hate it when people get interrupted before they get a chance to kiss? Or hate to love it. Or love to hate it...now I've got myself all confused!

Okay, I'm bored, and I was rereading one of my stories, so I decided to put this up. For those of you who don't like Anakin Solo and Tahiri Veila--I'm sorry, but the only two stories I have completed are about them...so here's a part from my second one. I'm just in a mushy mood, and I realized this thread hadn't been upped in a while, and A/T mush is all I have right now!

This part was written from Tahiri's viewpoint. Rix is an OC.

    **

I was headed back down the hall to my room when I ran into Rix again. I immediately felt that he was angry, and embarrassed, and he was hurt by my words to him. He wasn't thinking with his head right now. That much was clear when he grabbed my wrist. I sighed. "Rix, I didn't mean to hurt you. But you needed to hear it."

"Well, I think you're wrong." His grip on my wrist tightened.

I thought for a moment about calling to Anakin, but decided against it. "Rix, I'm sorry you had a bad life, but it doesn't matter anymore. What is it you want? For me to feel sorry for you?"

    "No! I want...I want you!"

Great. I had to go over this again? I deftly twisted my wrist out of his hand. "I'm sorry. You're not getting me." I tried to step around him, but he blocked my path.

"Why not? Because I'm not as good as Anakin?"

"Because I'm already in love with him, idiot!" My temper was beginning to flare up. "We just had this conversation! Now let me go to my room!"

Instead, Rix grabbed my shoulders and pushed me against the wall. Before I realized what was happening, he was kissing me.

"Mmmffhgh!" I tried to yell, but my mouth was kind of occupied. Without hesitation, I tried to jam my knee into his groin, but he jumped back just in time. Probably sensed it coming in the Force or something.

I was fuming as I wiped my arm across my mouth. Before I could do anything, Anakin appeared around the corner at a dead run. By the time I had registered that, Anakin had gone straight up to Rix and punched him in the nose. I heard the sound of bone cracking. Rix grabbed his face as his nose started dripping blood. Anakin glared at him. "That," he said in a deathly cold voice, "was for touching her. Do it again and I'll kill you." He turned to me and wrapped a protective arm around my waist. "Come on. I'll walk you to your room."

Rix glared and almost yelled, "You don't own her, Solo! You may speak for her, but she's not yours!"

Anakin ignored him and walked away with me.

*How did you know?* I asked him silently.

*I felt it as soon as he grabbed you.* I could feel the cold fury in Anakin's mind. We quickly reached my room. Anakin opened the door and escorted me inside.

I wiped at my mouth again. "I can't believe he did that!" I sighed and sat on my bed, shuddering. "He was always so nice to me!" I looked over at Anakin, who was still seething. "He's just jealous of you." I told him quietly.

"That's no excuse!" Anakin said hotly.

"I know that! And you think you've got it bad--you're not the one he kissed!"

Anakin's jaw knotted. I could tell that while he was furious about that, something else was bothering him. I stood up and walked over to him, taking his hands in mine. "What?"

Anakin gazed at me for a long moment. "I know I don't own you, Tahiri."

I wrinkled my nose. "Is that all? I'm not worried about that!" I kissed him playfully, as much for his benefit as to rid myself of the sensation of Rix's lips on mine. "And don't worry. I'm yours. Always."

Anakin was giving me an odd look now. "Do you really feel that way?"

"As you asked me just a little while ago, why would you ask me that? Of course I do." His blue eyes were staring at me so intensely I shivered, unable to think of something else to say.

    "Tahiri..."

"Yes?" My face was centimeters away from Anakin's.

    "Will you marry me?"

    I almost choked. "What?"

Anakin drew my body up against his. "Marry me." He said softly.

My mind was whirling. Marry him? My first thought was I'm only seventeen! My next thought was Who the Sit

I haven't been around for a while and here I find all these nice mush scenes. That really long Ani/Ami story was really sad and tragic. Very nice though, ThatJediGirl.

ArnaKyle: Not having experienced mush in real life doesn't mean you can't write it. It's the author's job to make the readers believe what you have written. You have a nice start. I liked the part where Jacen types around her and says it's more fun than asking her to move. You can even use the inexperience angle in the story; how does the character react to her first romantic encounter or what does she think will happen. Since you like blood and guts, you can work a mush scene around a death. Just put your imagination to work.

I feel that I should contribute something. I've got this one unused scene from Shackled Past.

Savoring every bite, Luke continued forking in the Corellian Sausage Casserole. It was wonderful after the prison swill. Once the plate was empty, Luke picked up his glass and went over to the refrigeration unit to pour another glass of blue milk. "Mara, you want some more milk?"

She shook her head. "No. I haven't even finished the first glass."

"Oh. I guess I did eat that pretty fast," Luke said before gulping down his milk.

Mara's plate was only half eaten. Taking a few more bites, she then put down her fork on the plate. She grabbed both plates and took them over to the dishwasher. Glancing at Luke, she noticed that he was now nibbling on a piece of ryshcate. "Didn't they feed you?"

Shrugging his shoulders, he replied, "Yes. But I ate better during the war."

    She smiled. "That bad, huh?"

Wiping the crumbs from the front of his shirt, he poured another glass of blue milk, then answered, "Yes."

Mara watched as he drank his milk, swallowing it quickly. Luke had relaxed considerably once they got home, away from the holoreporters. He had missed her as much as she missed him. Their bond was connected again, the emptiness gone. Eyeing him lovingly, she came closer as he put his glass down on the counter. Reaching her hand to his face, she brushed away some crumbs from his chin. Noticing a dribble of milk at the corner of his mouth, she used her finger to wipe it away. Lightly, she touched her fingertips to his lips then traced a line along the cleft of his chin, his throat, over his Adam's apple and over his collar bone, bringing her palms to rest on his chest.

Pulling her closer into his embrace, Luke covered her mouth with his. Her hands snaked up behind his neck as she pressed into the kiss, her tongue tracing his lips. His hands were moving up and down her spine, causing her to shiver in delight. She brought her hands down to his shoulders, then trailed her fingers along his chest, opening the fasteners of his tunic. Pressing her body firmly against his, he moaned in response. Slowing his caresses on her back, he brought his hands down to her hips. First running his fingers along and then under the hem of her tunic, he began to run his fingertips across her skin, causing her to gasp. With one hand, he reached the bottom fastener of her tunic and began undoing them, working his way upwards. When he reached the last fastener, Mara's hands grabbed hold of his wrists. Breathing heavily, she said huskily, "Let's move this party upstairs."

"Why?" he breathed, nibbling at her ear. "This is the perfect place for dessert."

I finally dug out the only piece of mush I've written to date. It was, coincidentally, my first fanfic ever--just a little piece of fluff about Luke and Mara's first date (after VOTF). This part is at the end of their meal, right after they've ordered dessert.

    *********************************************
The first notes of a popular Correllian waltz came from the speakers. Luke stood and offered her his hand. He tried to remain calm, but mentally he was reviewing all of the dance steps Leia had tried to teach him. They walked out to the middle of the floor and began to dance. As soon as Luke?s eyes met Mara?s, his nerves abated. His feet seemed to move automatically as he floated in the ocean of her gaze. A few minutes or a few years later, the music changed to a slower tempo Alderaanian ballad. Luke was relieved; all he had to do was hold her close and rock back and forth to the beat. He was pretty sure he could handle that. Mara melted into his embrace and he marveled at how well she fit in his arms, almost as if they had been made specifically for each other. He felt Mara smile at that thought and they continued to dance.

All too soon, though he had no idea how much time had passed, the last chords of the music sounded and the server entered with their desserts. They returned to their seats and marveled in the exquisite treat. Mara convinced Luke to try her Phys?Ra Berry sauce. It was delicious, but he still preferred his without it. After that, she looked at him with a twinkle in her eye. ?You know, you surprised me, farm boy. You dance pretty well. Did your sister teach you that??

Luke nodded and offered her his bashful grin. ?Well, she tried, but I?m afraid I trounced all over her toes at the time. However, with you to inspire me, I was able to do better.? He was amazed to see Mara blush a little at his compliment. Wisely, he turned the conversation in a different direction, since he knew she was feeling self-conscious. Instead, he told her about one of the twins? latest escapades at the academy. Soon he had her laughing, and just as quickly the last savory morsel of the dessert was gone and they were back in the stretch hover-transport.

When they reached Mara?s building, Luke opened the door and escorted her into the building. The Force was with them, for there was no one out in her hallway as the approached her door. Mara turned to say goodbye to him and realized that Luke was feeling nervous again. She caught his hands in hers and pulled him close, then she looked up at him with a special glint in her eye. Before Luke quite knew what was happening, he was kissing her. Many moments later, she ended the kiss, but remained within centimeters of his face. He opened his eyes to see that hers had become very intense. Finally she spoke, ?I love you, Luke Skywalker.?

A shock wave radiated throughout his body. He realized that he had known she loved him for a long time, but he had never actually heard her speak the words. He kissed her again, and then floated on a cloud of air back to the transport. As he left, he thought he heard her call out, ?Let me know when you get home safely, Farm Boy!?
    *********************************************
Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

On a seperate note, I think I finally realized the reason my current story has been stuck for so long is that I'm wanting to write mush (well, sorta), but I've gotta get through boring governmental stuff first. *makes face* Oh well, that's the corner I've written myself into. And I suppose there's no guaranteing my mush will be any better/easier than this.

Hello. My name is Josephina, and I am a mush writer. I don't mean to write mush, but it creeps into my stories anyway. I first noticed it in my Slayers fanfiction, where what I'd meant as fun little adventure fics kept turning shades of romantic.

The situation deteriorated from there... my many unfinished SW fics have blatant Han/Leia, Anakin/Amidala, and even Qui-Gon/Shmi scenes in them (I can't be the only person on the planet who thinks they should have hooked up, can I? :_| ). I went to great lengths constructing a plot for the novel I'm writing so that there would be no love story in it... but the main characters fell for each other anyway.

That is my sorry tale. I can't tell you how glad I am to have found this place... they do say that admitting you need help is the first step to recovery.

    Please... help me.

    Welcome, Josephina!
I agree that I saw chemistry between Shmi and Qui Gon that should have developed. In fact, (although I KNOW it's nto true), I choose to believe that Qui Gon is actually Anakin's father from a previous visit to Tatoine. That's partly because I like the potential for romance there and partly because I detest the idea of midichlorians. Oh well. :) Good luck with your mush writing.

Umm this is a small snippet from Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten it's just a little Hubby\Wife\kid mush ;)

Mirax was waiting for him when he entered the apartment's sitting room, fists on hips. "You kept my daughter up pretty late." She accused, crossing the room to him and straightening his shirt's collar. "Not to mention my husband."

Corran balanced Jysella in one arm, to free one hand up to press against his wife's cheek. "I'm sorry," he stared deep into her dark eyes, smiling at the love he still found burning in them. "We ran into something...interesting at the Spaceport."

Mirax raised a slender eyebrow at him. "Interesting is one of the few words I don't like to hear you say." She frowned. "It means trouble."

"Not too much this time." Corran assured her. "I'll explain in the morning. For now," He hefted Jysella back into both arms. "What do you say we put this kid to bed?"

Mirax studied his face for a few heartbeats, then nodded. "Sure," she rested her arm Corran's, "You've kept her up long enough."

"Hey!" Corran said defensively, leading the way to their daughter's room. "She's asleep, isn't she?"

"Yes," Mirax grinned. "You get one point."

They made it to Jysella's room, and Corran laid her on her soft yellow quilt. Mirax dug a nightgown out of her dresser, while Corran pulled Jysella's shoes off. He then lifted her up, allowing her to rest against his shoulder while he undid the buttons on her jumpsuit. Mirax found a white nightgown decorated with Ewoks and joined Corran on the bed. "Not that one again." He whispered, as Mirax eased Jysella into her arms and pulled the nightgown over her daughter's head.

"It's her favorite," Mirax reminded him, finishing putting the nightgown on Jysella.

"She's asleep," Corran said softly, affectionately smoothing a stray stand of hair behind Jysella's ear.

"Fast asleep," Mirax said, laying Jysella down and pulling the quilt over her body. "This kid could sleep through an Endor Day celebration."

"And not even stir," Corran said, leaning over to kiss daughter's soft rosy cheek.

Mirax kissed the top of her head, then got to her feet. "They're so angelic when they sleep."

"And devilish when they wake," Corran said, standing up.

Mirax smiled. "It's a shame night comes but once a day." She ran a hand through her short dark hair. "So, we have both kids in bed asleep... now what?"

Corran grinned slyly. "How about I put you to bed?" He asked, dropping an arm around Mirax's waist and lifting her into his arms.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Mirax kissed his lips. "Sounds good to me."

Corran returned the kiss, carrying his wife to their room. He laid her gently on the bed, and kept his arm around her waist as he lay next to her.

"Aren't you going to tuck me in?" Mirax teased, running a finger down his cheek.

Corran leaned forward, raising an eyebrow at her. "I have to put you in your night clothes first." He said suggestively, pulling her close to him.

How about a little Luke, Mara, and Ben from that same story? (Same night too ;))

    ***

Luke frowned. "Not good, but I think we will be able to help her." He hoped. He gently touched Ben's hand. "We really should put Ben in his own bed."

Mara studied him, recognizing his desire to change the subject; he was worried. "Sure," She said. "But if he wakes up..."

"You'll kill me, I know." Luke finished for her, slipping his hand beneath Ben's neck and legs, lifting him into his arms.

"After you put him back to sleep," Mara said sweetly.

Luke grinned and got out of bed. "You coming?"

"Of course," Mara slid out of bed.

Luke led the way to Ben's bedroom, thankful he wasn't even stirring. He entered the bedroom, stepping carefully to avoid tripping on toys. Very gently, he laid Ben in the cradle, feeling Mara come up behind him. Ben stretched, then his eyes fluttered open. He looked up at his parents, and grinned. He then rolled over, sucking noisily on his thumb. Luke let out a breath, and glanced at Mara. "I think he'll go back to sleep." He whispered to her, wrapping both arms around her waist.

Mara smiled at him. "I think so too," she whispered back, pulling a blanket up over Ben.

Luke rested his chin on her shoulder. "He's beautiful," Luke commented.

    "He's perfect."

Luke kissed her cheek. "Let's have another."

Mara turned in his arms. "You want to carry him?"

"Her." Luke pressed his forehead to hers. "And I would if I could."

"I know." Mara brush kissed his lips. "How do we know it would be a girl?" She asked softly, removing one of his hands from her waist and holding it in her hand. "Maybe all you're able to give me is a flock of farmboys."

Luke allowed her to lead him out of the room. "There's no harm in trying."

"Until we're the parents of a whole fighter squadron." Mara teased him, as they stepped out into the dark hall.

"Sounds good to me, as long as they're yours..." He began, losing his balance as something sped beneath his foot. Mara landed first, with Luke falling on top of her with a whoosh. "Hey!" Luke called to a tiny maintenance droid which immediately whizzed away from him. He glanced down at Mara, and touched her cheek. "Are you alright?"

    "Yes." Mara clipped.

    "You sure?"

Mara glared at him. "Yes, now, are you going to get off of me, or were you just getting comfortable?" She said sarcastically, but her green eyes sparkled.

Luke grinned and leaned over to kiss her lips. "Just getting comfortable."

Oh, more Luney mush! I'm so honored, I got a double dose! Anakin/Tahiri, really? Ooh, tell me if you do!! ;)

[face_laugh] The 'flock of farmboys' was hilarious! It also reminded me of something...my mom works in the OB department at the hospital, and one time, there was a woman who came in to deliver...and Mom ended up talking to her husband...apparently, they had four or five girls, and they kept trying for a boy...so the husband was like 'let's try one more time,' and his wife was in the hospital having twin girls! [face_laugh]

Oookay, that was way off subject...I loved that tidbit, Luney, it was fantastic!

LOL at Lady Hikari's story! Also, the fact that our names are the same. (My screan name came from my middle name... :))

LunettaorshouldIcallyouprincessauroraormaybesleepingbeautyorperhapsjustyourluneyness: Thanks for the compliment; I'm glad you enjoyed it. (And I couldn't resist imitating you and Gimpy. It always amuses me so much to read your long names for each other. Hope you don't mind!) And thank you for posting those bits from Shadows. It was nice to re-read them and I highly reccomend the story if anyone HASN'T read it yet. :D

Lady Blakeney: Good luck getting over your writer's block. I think mine has become terminal, which I guess is what I get for setting myself up to write about a fighter-jock ;) Oh wait, that was not my intention, it just kinda evolved that way. Oh well.

I'm posting back to back, but oh well.

Note for Melyanna: I just finished "Of Pilots and Jedi" (enjoyed it very much; will work on reading the sequels soon) and I just thought I'd mention that several people have read it since it ended and posted praise. I don't know if you check old threads, so just thought you should have the opportunity to go bask in your praise if you haven't already. :D
