    Alrighty, enough of this. I'd like a gimlet (vodka and lime juice) please, on the rocks and shaken please. I'm very particular when it comes to these.

    Sorry bout your luck Lady Vader. I've been flamed left and right in my thread in the IK forums about running for webmaster. It's been ugly and I've just been thinking about pulling outta the race. Just not worth it....so I feel your pain.

    Barkeep, give that lady another Smirnoff Ice! She deserves it!

    Ok now, I got a question. I know someone told me that if I ever asked for a "Black & Tan" that people in Ireland would look at my funny. So do Scots do the same?

    Well in Ireland I think it has miltary connotations whereas in Scotland it is a drink. Half of stout mixed with a half of beer. Or a Sweet black and tan is a bottle of sweet stout mixed with a half of beer.

    Ok, good! Yeah over here it is Guinness mixed with either Harp or some sort of amber beer. Still pretty good, though I cannot, for the life of me, ever be able to drink a whole pint of Guiness on my own.

    Thanks for the info, though. No one would tell me why exactly, just not to do it

    It's not Amber beer here it's like bitter or heavy (Scottish phrase).

    You could probably drink a whole pint of Guinness in Ireland as it's much more creamy over there.

    sweet black'n'tan [face_love]
    saw me thru ma student days, that drink..........

    and its easier, in maexperience, to drink a pint of Guinness than a pint of gassy lager.....
    but don't ever drink more than 5 pints of black stuff unless your prepared for the well-documented "5 pint hallucinogenic effect" 8-}

    Well over here often times an Amber and a Bitter are the same. I don't like ESB personally, but other Bitters I can do.

    Hrmm a sweet black n tan sounds good, though. What's a good example of a sweet stout?

    Youngers Sweetheart Stout, sold in half-pint bottles with an nice picture of a 1950's girl on the label, is very drinkable and mild.
    It would take maybe 8 bottles of it before you'd feel even slightly pissed, unfortunately........
