As stated above, ONE candidate received ALL of the votes (apart from one).

Don't read too much into that. Basically the field was extremely strong with a collection of excellent promotion prospects. After *everything* was considered most of the current RSAs and GSAs agreed that of the fantastic field of candidates there was one who stood out over the others.

There's a ton of discussion before the vote, so by the time vote happens there's a reasonable chance that it will go strongly in one direction. Those who didn't get voted in shouldn't be too upset - it doesn't really reflect badly on yourselves.

I was referring to the statement yosh made that the people who voted for the new rsa all voted for one person with the exception of one vote. So while the opinion on this forum has been very even between a few people, else where it seems that they only had one person in mind for the job.

 

No, Only 2 of the candidates got votes, Richie, one of them only getting the one vote, all other votes went to the winner.

So it was actually pretty one sided.

I'm pleased with who is replacing me, I would have been pleased whoever won it though, as all the candidates are fine upstanding posters.

Experience and length of time here doesn't even come into it Welshy. Take Luke (Seb) for example, he'd only been here for a matter of months before he was premoted to RSA here.

That isn't a clue by the way, just how it is.

 

Just to clarify SithLordDarthRichie, regular users can nominate anyone they like, but the actual voting is done by the current staff. (ie the RSAs and GSAs of other regions)

I agree with you there, but typically speaking someone who has been around longer is going to have a better idea of how a forum works compared to someone who signed up last month. Reg date isn't *really* a consideration though - no-one would rank an 03er over a 04er.

 

Has the candidate been notified?

 

I don't know what I want to know more: Who actually got the position of RSA, or who got that one vote that stopped him/her from getting the clean-sweep -- Oh, I hope that was me! I love being an awkward little bugger!
