Okay, here's the planning thread. Come here often.

Here's a few ideas I have concerning the story.

Obviously, the oligarchy is NOT as stable as it seems.

The Empire has already been in contact with them and they've lured Han and Leia there to capture them.

But there's an underground trying to enact an internal revolution to supplant the oligarchy and drive off the Empire.

Tazo is thought dead by the oligarchy shortly before H/L arrive, but we find out that he's working for the underground.

But he's actually a traitor, working for the Empire.

    Any other ideas?

I love those ideas, especially the one about the Empire luring Han/Leia out from the Core Worlds, to capture them.

The under of the underground, would be perfect with that maybe we could have Han/Leia meeting with them at sometime or another to ally themselves with them. What about the Empire occupying a nearby planet, therefore their influencing the oligarchy.

Tazo, being the traitor is fantastic - so he's like a spy in the underground. The Empire wants to know more about the underground so they send him in and when Han/Leia meet with the underground they discover that he's alive and well. Since Mon Mothma trusted him so do they and eventually he could capture them and hand them over to the Empire (the nearby planet).

The original plan is that they do not side or believe in any of the laws of the oligarchy and that's what attracts the underground to contact them; knowing that they might have a ally.

Ok, off to school for me - Love these ideas :)

Glad you like the ideas. The Empire occupying a nearby planet is viable, but I think rather than keeping them at that arm's length, they should have people and allies within the ruling clans themselves already so the next logical step is in conquest. The oligarchy, for all their "noble" aims, could have been collaborating with the Empire for years, keeping them as the invisible muscle.

I thought Tazo would be a prime candidate for traitor, since he survived the wars, even though most people in that position (Organa, Bel Iblis, etc.) weren't given the "option" of prison camps. The Emperor would have seen them as too much of a threat and had them killed, or at least that's my reading of it, given the entire premise of the Jedi Purges and his quest to destroy Luke Skywalker. So the fact that he emerged relatively unscathed, in my thinking, would suggest either that he turned to the Empire or was a Lusankya-style agent. I'm going to opt for the former explanation, because he will be developed as a slightly selfish, short-sighted person.

Since the oligarchy is obviously in league with the Empire, they will not be blatantly Palpatinistic in their philosophical ideas, but Leia, being the fledgling Jedi that she is, will realize that something doesn't quite bode well. She expresses her doubts to Han and then tactfully opposes the oligarchs in public, where agents of the underground pick up on that disposition and target them as possible allies.

So far everything looks good - but my main question is, how many ruling clans shall there be? I have already had ideas for all the clain leaders (their all men except for the Tzir clan leader):

    Doocha Clan Leader Issuan Airan,

Age: 42 Short, white haired, half balded, blue-eyed human male. Born on the southern most continent of Ghairan. Has a tendancy to wear dark black robes and has a Palpatine like dark aura surrounding him. Many of his people very much fear him - most of the underground members originated from his clan, but much prefered a better life away from his harsh laws and codes. He can become very agressive, when anything belonging to him is threatened and often in public meetings with the rest of the clan leaders; will disregard other clan leaders opinions and very much prefer to use his own suggestions or ideas.

    Nea Clan Leader Niam Thornen,

Age: 39 Tall, has a overgrown beard and black hair with dark green eyes. Was born on the northern most continent of Ghairan. Niam takes pride in his looks and is often to be found in ragelessly outlandous clothes. Niam could be called vain and would do anything to save himself. Though he is surprisely easy on his people and banned slavery a few years ago. In the middle of meeting with other clan leaders, he will stay quiet and keep out of the way and let the other make the decisions. If there was ever a war to start up on Ghairan, the Nea Clan would be one of the first ones to fall because of the lack of true leadership.

    Tzir Clan Leader, Radyall Scloran

Age. 23 Radyall is undoubtly the most prettiest of the clan leaders with her long dark red hair, light hazel eyes and a rather medium height. Rayall was born on the central Ghairan continent. Age does not seem to affect Radyall, she rose to power at a very young age and since them diplomatic functions and welfare have been her main goals. The Tzir clan, still manage to keep good relations with all the other clans providing with the most knowledge of secret projects started by their fellow clains, which is tells the underground of. Radyall is one of the most active people in a clan leaders meeting and arranges most of the deplomatic relations with the other planets in their sector. She is a strong willed woman, deciding against the clan laws and join the underground. Many of her people are underground spies. The clan population are very hard working people and like very much to keep to themselves.

    Saker Clan Leader, Alder Qutilin

Age 28 Alder is the most attractive man on Ghairan with his short blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes and a smile that shines like a million stars. He is very much a ladies man and does take advantage of his clan women. Alder is the first one to take command in a important situation or one that has to do with war and killing. Alder is fashionably one of the most evil clan leaders, willingly no care for human lives especially that of his women. Alder was born on the eastern continent of Ghairan. In clan meeting he's often the one to speak up and insist upon military action. His clan's population are killers, murders and most of them belong to the Sakeer Clan's Military.

    Lan Clan Leader, Jalanor Beltar

Age. 26 Jalanor has long dark brown hair and brown eyes, he is very tall and holds this regal air about him. He was born on the Western most continent of Ghairen. His beliefs in peace and to end the suffering of Ghairan's population is his main concern. He's a very smart, but silent man who prefers to debate a subject than go to war on it. He's always been in disagreements with the Saker clan leader, which has left both of those two clans very unstable around each other. Jalanor is one of main supporters of the underground, he along with Radyall supply information to the underground. His people are very kindly treated and he his put in place many laws for his people keeping them safe from harm. He is a very wise person despite his age.

I've had tweo ideas for some of the members of the underground. He

There are basically 5 clans on Ghairan that all natives fall into. The world was settled by political refugees and corporate magnates in the early days of the Old Republic. 5 families (these refugees and magnates) were driven from their homes and positions by the Ordi Coalition (whence cometh Ord Mantell, Ord Trasi, Ord Padron, etc.). In hiding for over a decade, they were forced to become agriculturally self-sufficient and when the wars with the Coalition were ended, they reestablished contact with the rest of the Galaxy. Hundreds of years later, their allies found it necessary to establish a bridging point between the Unknown Regions and the Rim worlds. A civil war was in effect and because Ghairan was in such a crucial position, planet-based design and construct facilities for snubfighters were developed. Over the years, they became legendary for their fighter designs.

    Do you like that?

::Claps:: What a plan! I like it very much - snubfighters, maybe Han and Leia could encounters some of those while entering the orbit of Ghairan. By them being forced to become agriculturally self-sufficient, they would have different laws than the Republic, both Old and New, right?

Ghairan being posited between the Unknown Regions and Rim is a perfect plan, which is even more than a reason why the Empire would be involved. I haven't read hardly any Post-ROTJ fics, who is left in command of the Empire? We could invent a Sith and crown him the new Emperor.

I was thinking of the Doocha Clan Leader Issuan Airan and The Saker Clan Leader, Alder Qutilin - being very greedy and self centered wanting to expand their businesses and mortal power to the surrounding systems and even maybe the whole Republic. The Leader of the Empire, decides to take advantage of this by telling them they will have all the money and power that they wish once the Empire gets back into power; ruling the Universe.

To do that, he tells them that they need to capture Leia and Han, they were also trying for Luke but he was unavailable. So they make up this fake story, report it to the Republic and ask them to send some diplomats out there to forge a friendship between their planet and the Republic. Once Leia and Han arrive, they keep them as their prisoners on their planet, but neither Leia or Han know that their prisoners on Ghairan. The clan leaders (except for the two are part of the underground), then wait for the Empire to arrive and collect H/L therby expecting what they had been promised as a reward.

But before the Empire arrives, the Underground and Katerra become involved stealing them away from the Empires clutches. The information that maybe H/L can maybe become their allies comes from Radyall and Jalanor. From there it goes on until the Empire does arrive, to find that H/L are not in the clan leaders capture. The Empire Leader, then kills the two main clan leaders and goes after H/L. Also, we could have a scene when the Empire Leader has just strangled Issuan Airan, dropping him to the floor.

He hears a movement, spinning around he see Leia pointing a tiny blaster at his face. She says something dramatic and then he reaches for his blaster and we have the classic blaster fight and a bit of hand to hand combat. I hope that all made sense.

Yes, I like. On approach to Ghairan, I intend to involve the snubfighters, but merely as escorts. Have a scene preclude that in which I explain everything I just explained to you so when the fighters come into view, Han's just thunderstruck, but tries to blow it off with comments about the Falcon. Leia is, of course, smug about it. :) So they get an official escort down to the planet, a great reception committee, and are invited to stay in the Palace of Justice, the Councils' chambers in the capitol city of Sagern. Yes, they have slightly different laws than the O/NR. The Empire is left in the hands of a succession of brilliant warlords who should have never attempted politics. At this time, it's either Ysanne Isard or Warlord Zsinj. I'd vote for Isard because she's more likely and a better character to play off of. NO MORE CROWNING SITH! ::Whacks her upside the head with a lanvarok.:: Don't you learn ANYTHING? Airan and Qutilin are definitely driven by greed. Basically, they're well-placed bounty hunters.
I like the idea of the Underground stealing them away. I think it would be rather amusing to have Leia think they're being kidnapped and try to blast them, but they turn out to be the allis. The "classic blaster fight?" I thought that involved tumbleweed, bad clothing, cheesy music, and moreover, one shot fired. No time for hand-to-hand. I think he knocks the blaster from her hand and proceeds to whup her...well, you know. She fights back and makes sure he whups her in the direction of reinforcements, whereupon Han finally gets his rear in gear and puts a bolt through the guy's forehead.

Ohh -- I like very much so [face_love]

Having the snubfighters come into view, would be fantastic! Can't wait to see that, Chose whatever warlord you want, Long as that person is evil to the bone. Han putting a bullet through the guy's head, we must be sure to describe it well and make it sickening. Lovely...so your next post shall include when they leave, their jounrey and when they arrive or do you want me to work on something?
