Toronto SFX 2007 Saturday Dinner

Hmmm... I think it all centers around what the 501st have planned for myself and Samantha... and right now they have nothing in stone... but... Sat night is the 501st parade and some other events...

 

It looks as if you could be quite busy -

The 501st are using the SFX as the host for their International Conference

The 501st Legion has called an International Conference to take place during Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, to take part in the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars festivities.

Albin and hundreds of 501st members will be on site at Fan Expo Canada running and taking part in all events related to Star Wars, including; The Droid Hunt, Masquerade, Light Sabre Duel Demostrations, Video presentations, Costume & Prop making workshops, Photo Sessions and more

 

We are trying to combine this as a 501st and FF event.

The 'Assembling a Galaxy' Exhibit at the Design Exchange on Bay street has a Stormtrooper bucket signed by Albin Johnson (founder of the 501st) as part of it's collection

Probably been in the collection for awhile

 

I really should go to that Exhibit... a friend of mine even works there... lol... I would have trooped it the day we did an event there... but my suit is a mess and needs fixin! (I was supposed to have already bought a new suit, I even have enough, but I have been worried about money - you know how it is)

But yes I believe we do know how it is.

I'm in for a dinner as well and I think the montrealers will join up as well.

However with the masquerade and all of the other events, I do believe it might be better to have this event taking place on Friday Evening.

Is there anyway the Canadian GPR could come over these parts of the internet and discuss this along with us?

 

I am coming up from Niagara for SFX on Saturday (Working the rest of the weekend, boo)

So put me down as a strong possible, It would be nice to have a little social visit after wandering around the convention all long

 

We could have dinners on both days. I will start a thread on a Friday dinner

Honestly dinner both nights would be awesome. I would come to both. I'm only actually coming to SFX for Saturday but if there is a FF dinner elsewhere on Friday, I will be there most likely.

Yes, a where and when would be great.

Also, a place where those intrested could meet up before heading to this dinner becuase the Con gets so crowded that there is a good chance that people may not run into each other during it, and also personally speaking I don't know Toronto so I need to follow someone else, lol.

 

well i know toronto decently. I'll be in a costume but I'll stand out a bit because of it. I'll be wearing a shinigami (anime costume; black kimono with a sword) or my jedi costume based off of zayne carricks jedi outfit. If we meet up I'll be more then happy to show you around.

 

I'm not the Canadian Garrison's PR officer, but I volunteered to coordinate the 501st's dinner for Friday.
Seating is limited so it's first come first served (we have a list started and it's almost 1/2 full) with 501st and Rebel Legion members getting the first slots. At the moment we'd probably have room for FanForce as well, but I can't tell for sure yet. I guess it depends on how many FF'ers there would be.

How is an 7:30pm dinner for people? This is after the masquerade.

 

that seems perfect for me. I just hope that the masquerade doesn't take as long as last years I remember being there till about 10:30 or 11
