Obi-Wan Kenobi once called the fall of the Republic the 'Dark Times'. Others, after that, said his vision of what constituted the Dark Times was nothing in comparison to what Darth Krayt actually created, over a century thereafter. They would both be wrong. The true Dark Times began sometime after the Yuuzhan Vong War. They didn't occur for the galaxy at large, no.

    They occurred for the Sith.

The dark times for the Sith came about after the Battle of Endor, when the numbers of Dark Jedi were replete, and the opportunities immense. But gradually their numbers dwindled, and their prices were vised from their grasp, leaving but a few dozen Dark Jedi and Sithlings hiding in Imperial and later, after the Bastion Accords, neutral space - until Darth Krayt came.

He had a vision of all Sith kneeling to him, and he would brook no alternatives. And so he slowly but surely absorbed smaller groups, isolated more powerful ones, or outright hid behind others, letting the Baneites and the Lost Tribe of the Sith be destroyed so he could take advantage of their leavings, and others, such as the Acolytes of Darkness or Dominion of Darkness were co-opted, infiltrated and final expelled into the Unknown Regions. Some fought him, or sought to infiltrate his One Sith Order, such as the Maleficarum, or the enigmatic Hoole.

Some were more ready for this, carving out regimes, such as the Acolytes of Darkness did with the Sith Imperium, but others holed themselves up in fortress worlds and waited, like the Dominion of Darkness. But these Sith were hardly the first darksiders who sought refuge in this region, and they would not be the last, coming across Sith older than the Republic, freshly awoken from their slumber, and the cult known as the Obscurum, which was making its move on the Chiss Ascendancy. They were shortly joined by the Guardians of Light and New Jedi Trials, factions of the broken Jedi Order, when Darth Krayt finally made his successful bid for galactic domination.

And now, amongst unknown stars, the Jedi and Sith and Unknown Terrors fight a war, vying for the opportunity to conquer the region and return to Coruscant as conquerers and saviors. That was fifteen years ago, for some of them. Now it is 146 ABY, and the Shadow War is coming to an end.

    Who will be left standing?

4 ABY - The Battle of Endor takes place, releasing ancient Sith from their slumber in the Unknown Regions, who resurrect the Ancient Sith Empire, taking with it rebels from the Empire of the Hand who discover the fate of the Emperor.

6 ABY - Dark Jedi from the Empire consolidate a [link=]Sith Empire[/link] to oppose the Empire after it [link=]turns away from their control[/link], which quickly consumes itself in warfare, retreating to the Senex sector, and, eventually, Korriban, forming into a New Sith Order four years later under Darth Dispicable, while the Rebellion retakes the ground the Sith and reinvigorated Empire cost them.

13 ABY - The New Sith fight [link=]off a coup[/link], but a separate group forms from the violence; the Red Sith

14 ABY - The Red Sith and New Sith, in the [link=]midst of civil war[/link], defeat a Kiasyd invasion shortly before being pushed off the planet as the Disciples of Ragnos? and New Jedi Order?s conflict spills over onto [link=]Korriban[/link]. The Red Sith betray the New Sith, retreating to the Senex sector and forming the Dominion of Darkness, the New Sith to Ziost and forming the Acolytes of Darkness. The Dominion goes through a succession of rulers, and reinvents itself many times over, ending up on Rakata Prime, while the Acolytes of Darkness ends up on New Ziost, also in the Unknown Regions.

100 ABY ? The Jedi Order undergoes a fission into the New Jedi Trials and Guardians of Light when the issue of governance comes into play; are the Jedi police officers, or vigilantes? The Dominion of Darkness make an attempt on the galaxy during the [link=]Force Cold War[/link] eventually being routed soundly.

127 ABY ? The One Sith under Darth Krayt [link=]cause[/link] the [link=]Sith-Imperial War[/link], allying with the Empire to crush the Jedi and Galactic Alliance, snuffing out other [link=]Sith[/link] [link=]threats[/link] [link=]along[/link] [link=]the[/link] [link=]way[/link] and crippling assets of the Dominion of Darkness and the Acolytes of Darkenss.

129 ABY ? The Chiss, seeking independence from the war, are invaded by the One Sith on the pretext of defeating an internal coup which seizes control of chunks of the Chiss military. This triggers a civil war, and the One Sith withdraw, unable to make headway in the region but netting allies. The war ends in 130 ABY, but tensions [link=]linger for years[/link]

130 ABY ? The Jedi are massacred at the [link=]Battle of Ossus[/link], but more than half the reduced Order escapes, some remaining in known space, and two factions of the Jedi fleeing into the Unknown Regions ? the Guardians of Light and the New Jedi Trials.

133 ABY - In Known Space, a lone Rebel warship becomes entangled in the machinations of Hoole and the infinite terror that is the Xenly, ultimately surviving the [link=]encounter[/link]; this cataclysm causes the One Sith to focus upon crushing all other Sith threats they

    Josch Decinchi's Expanded CS

    Character Traits:
Species: Erphae - They were once [link=]Sephi[/link] who were banished. A small group of young Sephi began a revolt against the ruling family. When their revolution was suppressed they were exiled from Thustra. The rebel rousers were all sealed into a long range freighter and sent away.

The Sephi had input a random coordinate that would erase once they arrived at their final destination. At this time hyperspace routes were being discovered and plotted. Thustra had not yet foraged into the know galaxy and was isolated from the core worlds.

The group of exiles crash landed on Vernet, a planet that was heavily forested, but lacked mountain ranges. Sephi traditionally lived in cavernous areas in and under the mountains. These exiles were forced to adapt and lived amongst the trees deep in the forest.

They eventually built up their society and developed farms in the open spaces of the forest. Vernet was eventually found by traders and was added to the many agriworlds in the Expansion Region. For a short time they had been the chief exporters of Hete Grain used in several alcoholic beverages and breads.
Special Racial Traits: Pointed ears that are able to hear slightly better. He has longevity with retained youthfulness. Josch can jump, without using the force, an extra-ordinary height and has extremely good balance. However he is not able to lift heavy weights, and cannot run for long distances or over long periods of time, without being aided by the force.
Languages: Basic, Mando'a, and comprehends Shyriiwook & Ewokese
Personality: Josch is an old, playful soul. He is always quick to strike up a conversation, especially with a female. He had been labeled as a trickster in his youth. Due to his longevity, time is not a concern for him. He has learned the value of remaining calm and being still. He still enjoys playing the [link=]Deej Pipe[/link] that his Ewok friend, Logray, gave to him when he lived on Endor. When meditating he enjoys having the sounds of nature in the background, but does not need it to concentrate.

Appearance: Josch stands at 5? 9? tall and weighs 179 lbs. He proudly displays the pointed ears that distinguish his ancestry. His skin is lightly tanned by spending most of his time in or under a tree. His hands appear to be delicate, but are as tough as leather. His skin is smooth and unremarkable.
    Eye Color: Deep, piercing Blue
Hair/Fur: Dirty blonde hair, collar length, with long bangs.
    Skin Color: Lightly tanned

    The Force:
Combat Forms: Form V: Shien / Djem So; Jar?Kai

His parents left him in the care of Scath Foumi, the protector of the Royal Family. Scath had once been a Jedi Knight in the days of the Republic, but left the Order because of several of the council?s rules that he did not agree with. Scath returned to Vernet to reassume the role of royal protector.

Josch?s parents knew of the political unrest on Vernet and did not want their son to become a victim. So they gave him to Scath who sensed his connection to the Force. As Josch grew up under the watchful eye of Scath, who encouraged his free spirited nature, he was allowed to follow his own destiny. Josch spent most of his time as any other youth would on Vernet.

He learned the arts of farming, hunting, and wilderness surviv

    [hl=black]GM Approved Character Sheet [/hl]

Disclaimer: For all the detailed history, this character will be played as nothing more than a normal Master-level character in regards to Force ability (though I will be taking into consideration him being a Gen'Dai).

    Sith Name:

    Darth Cruor
    [blockquote] 1.blood, gore
    2.(figuratively) murder, bloodshed [/blockquote]
    Name: Xen Gaal
    Age: 7,389
    Species: Gen'Dai
    Homeworld: Unknown
Titles: Night Herald, Battlelord and Harbinger of the True such he believes himself to be the Taral (protector) of the Ancient Sith Empire.
    Class: Sith'Ari Warrior (Master)

Personality: Generally approaches problems through a pragmatic point of view, but if necessary will also act with brute force and apparent rage, especially when provoked.

Devoid of the normal human responses to other people's suffering. He is also a sadist, deriving amusement from inflicting pain on others without any remorse. Does not recognize worth or value of life other than to serve the ASE.

To Nemesis and Venomis he is loyal without question. He would sacrifice all else for them and the greater good of the ASE.

Powers: Being an ancient Sith'ari, Darth Cruor's abilities are quite powerful. The physical aspects of being a [link='Dai]Gen'Dai[/link] are of great benefit to his aggressive style of melee combat, as he can afford to take wounds that would be fatal to others but is only minor to him. His immense strength and extremely quick reflexes are also an asset to this powerful warrior.

Darth Cruor, having had many millenia to explore the Dark Side of the Force, is well educated in it's use and is capable of preforming almost all known manifestations of it's power. His focus however is the art of combat and war, and the main areas of interest to him are lightsaber combat, Telekinesis, Sith Magic and alchemy.

Any power he uses though tends to be molded to fit his needs as a warrior.

    Personal effects:
    Weapons: [link=]2 red bladed lightsabers[/link], [link=]Sith lanvarok [/link]

Biography: Xen Gaal is a Sith'ari of ancient origins who has gone by hundreds of names and was able to survive the rise and fall of countless Empires.

In the beginning it was not he who found the True Sith, but they who found him. Around the year 7,100 BBY the True Sith Empire, seeking resources, came across the planet of the Gen'Dai. The peaceful species was no match for the full power of the invaders, and their planet was stripped of all that was valuable to the Empire. Including a young potentially powerful Force sensitive Gen'Dai, Xen Gaal.

Upon departure the True Sith destroyed much of the population on the planet and left it in ruin. It was that very day in which Xen Gaal was taken as the apprentice of the Sith'ari Darth Nemesis. The only other being who would ever know the truth of Xen Gaal would be Darth Venomis. For the next 100 years the Gen'Dai survived a training that was cruel and ruthless beyond imagining, but in that crucible a powerful weapon was created for the True Sith. Darth Cruor.

Darth Nemesis unleashed him upon the galaxy in the year 7,003 and in his wake Darth Cruor spread the seeds for what would become known as the [link=]Great Schism or the Hundred Year Darkness[/link], millions would die in the century that followed. As both sides were brought to their knees Darth Cruor was not known to be active in the galaxy.

He appeared again almost 2000 years later when the True Sith instigated

    Appearance: [image=]

Personality: Aden Kya - An independently minded Sith, ordinarily manipulative, inherently suspicious and things lowly of all things - himself especially, however these are just ancillary parts of his personality - he is deeply melancholy, afraid of the world at large... not that he would reveal that to anyone.
    Personal effects: None
Skills: A master of telekinesis, mastering projected fighting and other mind-related feats.

Crew: 1 Passenger limit: 13; currently made up of 13 assassin droids, include YVH-1s, Human Replica Droids and Synthdroids.

Biography: The tale of Darth Insipid runs from 7 ABY onwards. He has been many things; a boy, alone, a slave, a teen, a prisoner... and, finally, a Sith. But even then, he has been not just a Sith. He was a One Sith, and then a Dominion Sith... and then an Acolyte, and a Vapid... he has ruled cults, sprawling organisations, systems, sectors, regions, empires. He has loved, and been betrayed. And betrayed in return, of course, with spells in stasis and even a death spreading his schemes and efforts across the decades and the regions ? culminating in him learning how to hop between the anchors he had placed in his numerous bodies, leading several Sith cults which he wove into a Sith Imperium, cutting the Unknown Regions off from the main galaxy?

That tale no longer holds true.

At Lehon, Darth Ardeur severed this body from his master, and the sentient being within awoke, left with a mass of knowledge and power, and used it to save the Dominion of Darkness? unifying the elements that were loyal and disloyal, Dominion and Dragon, he now acts as Dark Lord, elected so by the masses.

His name is now Darth Malkuth, for he is someone truly new... and truly terrifying, to himself and to the Sith. Not quite a messianic figure, not quite a monster... what he is now, is unknown. But, for now, Darth Malkuth will do.

The spirit of Darth Nemesis, within the vortex of its energy, in the wraith-like semblance of its Sith form, front view.

Personality: Nemesis has none; he is an incarnation of the dark side and as such is nothing but a void hungering for Force power, a nexus of pure malice, hatred and darkness.

Powers: Sith magic. All conventional dark side powers. Master of raising the dead (summoning spirits, reanimating corpses), essence transfer, teleportation, Force storm creation and can, through the Force Cores, warp matter and energy into things ranging from mechanical constructs to monstrous Sithspawn. Nemesis can also fill beings with his power, empowering and enslaving them. Force Drain - Nemesis can drain life from entire star systems, leech life more slowly to create mindless thralls, and even without intention slowly kills all in his presence bar his servants, Venomis and Cruor.

    Personal effects: N/A
Weapons: The Blade of Nemesis - a Sith sword that is the anchor for Nemesis' spirit, and his only weakness; if destroyed, Nemesis will be vanquished forever. It also allows Nemesis to possess any who touch it; however, as it is wielded by Nemesis at all times, for an opponent to touch it would be seemingly impossible. The sword has a black aura, and lightning crackles down the edges of the blade.

Vessel: The Wrath of Vader, a Sith warship created by the Force Cores, 10,000 meters long, serves as the flagship for the True Sith and so is used as Nemesis' vessel.

The origins of the one called Darth Nemesis will forever be unclear. Did Nemesis ever truly originate from somewhere, sometime? If the dark side of the Force is eternal and timeless, then what about Nemesis, a being the Sith fervently believe to be the dark side itself, evil incarnate? Regardless of Nemesis' true nature, it is undeniable that he is an incarnation of the dark side, an entity of pure destruction and hunger and a sapient dark side nexus that came into existence over 100,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, on the Sith's ancestral homeworld of Korriban, and he had a form.

It is believed this form was a True Sith one, formed out of dark side energies, and served as the vessel for the essence of Nemesis. The ancient Sith believed, and believe to this day, that Nemesis' form was the first of their race, and after coming into existence, he created them. Regardless of whether this is true or not, it is known Nemesis forged an alliance with the primitive Sith due to mutual philosophies and goals, and imparted to them his power - the power of the dark side, teaching them Sith magic.

From the earliest days, he was, and will forever be, Sith'ari - Lord of the Sith. Nemesis led the True Sith species from Korriban, with their greatest sorcerers making themselves kings and gods though the power of the dark side. Like a storm, the True Sith surged forth, laying waste to entire civilizations and despoiling nations. Using Force bas

    Age: Chronologically, ~30,000

    Species: Sith
    Homeworld: Korriban
    Affiliation: True Sith Empire
    Rank: Shadow Hand

    Darth Venomis, holding his lightsaber.

Darth Venomis, confronting a Jedi prisoner.

    Darth Venomis, seated.

Personality: Venomous like his name, the Shadow Hand of the True Sith is deceptive, manipulative, cruel and, simply put, evil. He hungers for power for power's sake, and has no loyalties save to himself... and Nemesis of course, who to him is his invincible master. Acidic and lethal, Venomis' cunning comprises Sith legends.

Powers: Sith magic. All conventional dark side powers. Master of raising the dead (summoning spirits, reanimating corpses), Force storm creation, teleportation and essence transfer. Master of Force Drain - he is near the pinnacle of its maximum power. Specializes in Sith runes, Sith illusions and mind control; his telepathic abilities are extreme.

Personal effects: Two Sith amulets (wrist bracelets), Sith amulet (necklace), Sith neck pendant, Sith serpent figurine with protective sigil (head gear) - all Force made, Force empowered artifacts that grant a stronger connection to the dark side and have varying applications.
Weapons: A single red-bladed lightsaber. The weapon is multi-setting; through a unique Sith phasing system created through magic, there are three settings; a standard-length blade, a 10-foot-long, thin blade, and a thick, 3-foot-long short blade. The hilt is unique as well; it is created through Sith alchemy so impervious to lightsaber damage, and also has a Sith crystal affixed to, and comprising part of it, along with a transparent cylinder where dark side energy in the form of Force lightning is channeled. This function provides another option lightning can be channeled through the crystal, creating a lightsaber blade that is also comprised of, and surrounded by, forks of Force lightning. This added 'lightning blade' can work with any of the tri-phase settings.

Vessel: The Wrath of Vader, a Sith warship created by the Force Cores, 10,000 meters long, is the True Sith flagship and thus serves as Venomis' vessel.

Darth Venomis was born Nihl Raptor on the planet Korriban over 30,000 years before the Battle of Yavin; he led a solitary but harmonious early life, living with his red-skinned Sith parents in a cave in the Korriban wastes. He was born with unusual black skin, and from birth was taught the ways of the True Sith; that war was as natural as peace, that power would be sought for its own sake, that the weak were not worthy of life and the strong should rule. At the equator of Korriban, temperatures were so high that Nihl and his parents would only ever leave the shade of their cave at night to hunt wild beasts. They never came into contact with other Sith in their remote region of Korriban, and Nihl's father prevented him from wandering too far to avoid meeting other Sith.

Nihl possessed great power from an early age, however, and his abilities manifested at the age of 5, when he naturally found he could manipulate beasts into doing his bidding. At age 10, he was the primary hunter of the small family, as he had honed his talent to the degree that he could convince animals to walk fearlessly into range of his lanvarok. Nihl was wary of his own power, however, and never told his parents; they nonetheless discovered it, however, and they responded wi

Benin and Rochelle Nightcaster were force sensitive Morganian nomads. They were traveling from planet to planet to find some way of understanding their gift. It led them to the planet of Onderon. They found data about the uprising of Freedon Nadd in the old library of Onderon.

It fascinated the Nightcasters. They had a thirst for knowledge that wouldn't go away. They ended up on one of Onderon?s moons, Dxun.

During their excavations of the tomb where Freedon Nadd was buried a pregnant Rochelle found a Sith amulet, not long after she went into labor. Within the tomb, the taint of the darkside was strong. The pain of childbirth was more than any natural birthing for it seemed to fuel Rochelle with much needed strength.

What she didn?t know was that the darkside energy around the tomb and the amulet that was still on her had seemingly embraced her during the labor. Rochelle?s screams were animalistic as it went on for twenty grueling hours. Benin could do nothing but watch as his wife looked as if she was about to die as well as his baby.

    27 ABY

Finally, Rane'wen Nightcaster was born with the taint of the darkside within her. The baby was what the amulet was attracted to for the force was strong in her. She was much stronger than her parents were. It was a natural fit, for the child was its destiny at this moment in time.

Rochelle lived on but was not as strong as she once was. Neverertheless, the couple remained studying the amulet and history of the tomb. They found other valuable artifacts as well including a Sith holocron of Freedon Nadd. They started to form their own cult to worship Freedon Nadd.

For five years, the Nightcasters were strong with Darkside knowledge and influenced many people who were still loyal to the old ways to join them. People of Onderon were starting to get nervous with this new cult of Naddists. The Queen of Onderon asked for the aid of the Jedi to help so that the influence wou

    Wrath of Vader

The Wrath of Vader is the flagship of the True Sith Empire, and of Darth Nemesis, Darth Venomis and Darth Cruor. It serves as a veritable fortress, a mobile base of operations for the True Sith, making incursions outside of True Sith territory, but its primary purpose is that of battle.

The Wrath of Vader is a Devastator-class Sith Warship, the first of this new model of vessel, created by the power of the dark side of the Force itself on an unknown world - the Force Cores - around 75 ABY, the deaths of thousands of slaves fueling its construction and imbuing it with an innate hunger, a void that reeks of the dark side, akin to Nihilus' flagship Ravager or the Star Forge.

It is 10,000 meters long. It bears some resemblance to a Star Destroyer, namely the fact that, when viewed from above, it appears as a dagger. However, from the side the ship appears as a right-angled triangle, because the vessel slopes high to the bridge. The bridge is spacious and infected with dark side energy. Relatively close to the bridge are the personal meditation chambers of Darth Venomis, with two others serving as the meditation chambers of Darth Nemesis and Darth Cruor. The engineering deck is one of the largest areas of the warship. The ship is crewed by Sith zombies, victims of the True Sith's mass cleansings of worlds through Force Drain, reanimated by Sith sorcery.

It has a powerful armament, but its armament is fundamentally alien - and ancient. It is equipped with thousands of turbolaser batteries and ion cannons. All of its weapons are powered by a "Force Battery" - a nexus of dark side energy which is used to power inanimate objects. Through this, the Wrath of Vader can employ concentrated bursts of dark side energy such as Force lightning, rather like certain Sith fortresses are rumored to do.

However, one of its greatest weapons is the Ram - the Wrath of Vader can employ incredibly strong shields protecting a vast ram of Sith alchemy which deploys from the front of the vessel. Through this, the Sith Warship can ram and destroy enemy ships without damage to itself.

The Wrath of Vader is, as of the start of the game, orbiting the planet Rahaknor, commanded by Darth Venomis and Darth Cruor to take slaves from Rahanor and return to True Sith space. It has recently been attacked by Darth Insipid and an army of technobeasts.

    The Chiss Ascendancy -
    Core Territories
    Circa 146 ABY

    Csilla -

Csilla is the birthplace and homeworld of the Chiss Species. As of 135 ABY, it was declared as neutral ground in the Civil War between the Obscurum and the unaligned houses who united under the Phalanx of Mitth'raw'nuruodo. While the truce can be tense at times between the factions, the penalty for braking the truce is death to all parties involved.

Csilla has two major cities that lie beneath the ice of the planet. Csaplar, the capitol of the Chiss Ascendancy, and Ac'siel.

Though the City can be seen protruding from the ice at some points, it extends to several thousand meters beneath the surface of the planet

Just as Csaplar is the center of politics and industry within the Ascendancy, Ac'siel is the center of entertainment and innovation. The City of Ac'siel resides several thousand meters below the surface of the planet with a constant temperature of 76.8 degrees Fahrenheit in all but the lowest parts of the city where it grows hotter as you near the planet's core.

    Avidich -

Avidich is the current base of operations for the coalition of houses aligned with the Phalanx of Syndic Mitth'raw'nuruodo. The capitol city of the planet bares the same name as the planet.

    Sharb -

Sharb has been the home of House Tann and the Obscurum since the Tann colonists were rediscovered in 989 BBY. Though the planet was not ruled by the Tann's until Sharin family fell from power around the time of the swarm war. The capitol city of Sha'renis is now home to both House Tann and the central training facility for the Obscurum.

    Name: Rid Malt
    Age: 23
    Gender: Male
    Species: Human
    Homeworld: Dantooine

Physical Description: 1.77 meters, 126 pounds. Slender, lanky, pale skin, blue eyes, long brown hair occasionally tied back depending upon the situation.
Personality: Sarcastic, witty, caring, sometimes over-protective, has excellent perception for his age, seems to have above average wisdom but lacks experiece to apply it at times.
    Rank: Knight

Lightsaber: A unique hilt shaped in the shape of an "S" that counters his hand, as well as having an opening at the end to fit in small handled shotos. Has a green blade and a personel crystal he harvested on Dantooine that only responds to him.
Additional weapons: Handy with a blaster but rarely carries one unless undercover and doesn't want his identity as a Jedi revealed
Personal starfighter: Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor with hyperspace ring

Bio: Rid Malt was born on Dantooine and at a young age was discovered to be Force Sensitive after visiting a cave and taking a crystal that glowed while he touched it. He was found to be talented and enrolled into the NJT at a young age. He completed his Padawan training at a quick pace as compared to his fellow Padawans and was Knighted before many of the pre-existing Padawans who had masters before him. He had limited time as a Knight in the NJT before the attacks of the One Sith devestated the galaxy but before then he developt a bond with fellow Jedi Gaan Be-orar. After an incident she left causeing Rid to go in search of her, following the trail she had left behind her. Due to his travels he was not present when the One Sith attacked and felt bad he could be there to help defend the order, but also undestood his presence likely meant nothing and the Force didn't want him there for a reason. Continueing his journeys he found himself in the Unknown Regions with a recovering Jedi Order and hopefully his companion Gaan.

Rid was gifted with a lightsaber and due to his unique lightsaber hilt and understanding of lightsaber forms invented a new lightsaber for he dubbed Senbo Zakura or Thousand Cherry Blossoms, it is speculated that this form could rival Vapaad, but do to it's new nature and inexperience in weilding it is not a perfect form. A meld of Makashi and Soresu, Senbo Zakura creates what is described as an amazing defense that can be easily be weilded as an offensive form. Rid however still needs to refine the form greaty so it is still far from being perfected and as effective as it has the potential to be, if Rid can tap into the potential.

The stock VCX-700 heavy courier was a 26-meter-long armed courier produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation. Like the rest of the VCX series, the VCX-700 was equipped as standard with near-military grade engines, shields, and weapons: a dual laser cannon turret, four ion cannons, an autoblaster, and four concussion missile launchers.

But unlike the stock version, The Refuse Ranger, was converted into more of a garbage scow than anything else. Buzz reduced the armor plating from the heavier near-military grade to a lighter medium grade. He also reduced the passenger area to expand the cargo hold and installed a tractor beam projector. He then replaced the traditional forward autoblaster with an astrogation/steller-cartograph suite to assist with charting new routes and star systems in the Unknown Regions.

All of these changes were so that he could increase the cargo capacity without having to massively overhaul the engines. The VCX-700's hull configuration superficially resembled the Trade Federation's Armored Assault Tank, with engines mounted above and behind a hemispherical main hull, while other aspects of the design resemble the Firespray-class in it's landed configuration, such as the loading ramp beneath the tail section, the tail mounted cannon and the top silhouette.
