Jan Sibelius is dead, has been for ages, but yeah, definitely could have written good SW scores.

 

She was a real gem.

 

I'm over here reading these back slowly to myself so I know what they say .

 

I think they should bring in Wedge Antilles into one of these projects. Probably one post-episode 9. I think they are running out of the supporting OT actors at this point that they can still use, Which is a shame.

While the PT obviously has alot more actors that can come back.

 

I kind of think it's a good thing (I obviously don't mean that I'm happy several of them have died, I just mean I don't think SW should keep relying on OT nostalgia as a crutch.)

As for Wedge, he was barely even a character in the OT. Maybe the books and/or comics fleshed him out (I don't read them, so I don't know), but in terms of what we got in the films, there's really nothing there other than "generic background fighter pilot," so I don't how excited anyone other than the most diehard fan would be to see him again.

 

The point is not to be excited the point is to flesh out the OT side of the galaxy because the PT side is getting fleshed out with various actors coming back like the actors who played uncle owen and aunt beru in the PT getting another chance in Kenobi. While the OT side of it, there must be actors on that side who can be fleshed out more. Wedge seems like a character who could be fleshed out more.

Its not about depending on OT nostalgia. Its about being away that they are bulding a universe out here.

Well if people are complaining about nostalgia. Lesser characters won't tick that same nostalgia. But they are there so do lets give them more to do.

 

Can't remember why, but didn't Denis Lawson swear he'd never be part of Star Wars again for decades? To the point he even advised Ewan MacGregor (his nephew) not to take the Obi-Wan role?
I guess they got him back for TROS the same way they got Ford back? $$$

 

He did some voice bits for Star Wars visions and Star Wars: Squadrons as the character.

 

I think all he said was that the role didn’t really interest him as an actor. Which is fair given it’s always been just a bit part.

Casting now begun on 2 apprentices and villain, will be shoot in UK. From Daniel Ritchman, a leaker who is 50/50.

 

That latter is actually is true. I think it was during the time when Lawson was a little bitter that the bit role he had as Wedge was what he was predominately known for.

 

I had no idea that was really Mr. Lawson in Squadrons. I was all set to reply with "that wasn't really him" but checked Google first, and am glad I did. Now I wanna replay Squadrons and give his scenes another listen!

 

I agree and would rather they move away from the characters and situations of the OT, to better allow themselves to do new things in a new era.

So is their source actually reliable? All I can see from the article is editorialising about the out of context comments by the director.

 

EmpireCity works in the industry, though he is very much hit and miss as he isn't that far up the ladder to actually be in the know. Not to mention that he tends to let what he wants to happen seep into what he reports as news.
