Interesting bit of news I've heard. Apparently according to one doctor, meta tarsel damage doesn't show up in scans until the foot starts to heal. Which means in essence that is was broken LAST week in the first game against Deportivo and not picked up at all! If that's true... then the Spanish doctors are partly to blame...

ED: And if the bone ws broken a week before he wouldn't have been able to walk, never mind train and kick a ball. If what that doctor said was true and he had broken it the week before, it would be case of not knowing for sure it was broken, but he wouldn't have been able to play a football match. And the swelling would have stayed. Which is why sometimes the xray does not show ythe break.

 

That sounds like a bad choice, but only in the same way that Beckham as captain initially sounded a bad choice.

 

I for one, don't think strikers make a good choice for captain. A defender or midfielder would be better.
