Should they? I think so. Will they? Doubt it.

Absolutely, if they set themselves clear goals in exploration and scientific research.

This includes determining once and for all if the moon has any cheese content whatsoever, and if so, finding out if it was created by a giant space cow or a giant space goat.

    Yes, I also agree, absolutely.

To not go back to the moon, would be like Christopher Columbus sailing to America, sighting the continent, but then turning back again.

It is time America returned. It is cruical to have a base in the moon. If we have that we can easily set up future missions like that of Mars. We can also mine on Mars. I doubt Bush is telling the truth. I don't think we will set up a base on the moon for a while. We need a good economy and a progressive President and Congress.

Yes. From there we can build missile silos in secret and launch them at our enemies.

If we want to go to Mars we need to have a space port on the moon.

You can't just go to Mars without the proper training.

    I too voted for... "That's no moon, that's a space station." :)

Yes, I do think that NASA should go to the moon. Bush will even get my vote if he can make it happen.

**Shudders at the thought of Bush getting his vote**

Please! Don't ever give me the option of

    That's no moon, it's a spacestation!

    I'll pick it everytime!

But yes, we should go to the moon again. Why? I don't know but I know that I think we should not only go but also put a station there.

Would that change the line to:

    That's a moon! And a spacestation!

Yes we should go back to the moon. Technology has progressed so far in the last thirty years. We still have much to learn. As far as the universe is concerned, we are still Padawans.

Yes to the moon, yes to Mars, Mercury, Venus, etc.

It would provide crucial exploration stations and then we could stripmine uninhabited planets and the asteriod belt. I wonder if the liberals would complain about that?

Yes NASA should plan on returning to the moon. We should continue to explore space, and strive to push the envelope of our technology, and move out farther into space. Even as we come up on the 1 year anniversary of the Columbia accident, we should remember those who died in the pursuit of discovery, and honor them by continuing foward. The most imortant reason for doing this can best be explained by borrowing a quote from Babylon 5...

'Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics - and you'll get ten different answers. But there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on, whether it happens in a hundred years, or a thousand years, or a million years, eventually our sun will grow cold, and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us, it'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-tsu, Einstein, Maruputo, Buddy Holly, Aristophanes - all of this. All of this was for nothing, unless we go to the stars.'
