    A Night Fury! :eek: According to the Dragon Manual, they are the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself.

    Really beautiful covers, Iverna =D= I love the last one JediMara posted and Lane's looks like a classic Bantam book :D

    I'm really glad that everyone likes the covers I made for them! So awesome. [face_dancing] And it's cool to see everyone else's as well.

    I kind of miss the old Bantam covers, too. Granted, they mostly featured the Big Three, but even so. I love the Japanese covers of the NJO because they're more in that vein, I think. A bit of continuity with the Bantam era.

    So yeah. Oh, and I figured I might as well share the one I made for my fic "Stranded":

    Iverna's amazing works have made me think that it would be a lovely idea if I drew out covers for all my fics.

    ...would you believe it's a damn sight harder than it looks! XD I may just end up finishing out the sketches and then asking Iverna to help turn them into something that looks crisp and professional.

    There's also the hot mess that is http://flyingoverthegrass.deviantart.com/art/Masquerade-Cover-WIP-253350990 ...

    What I would totally like to see? What's the BACK of your fanfic's book cover look like? Summary? Any other characters? What's the tagline that draws people in? :D I'm curious - I think it could be a really fun exercise!

    That does sound like fun! I actually got "Solo Moments" printed as a proper book so I made a back and spine for it, too. It was fun. I even put a "review" (from TFN) on it to make it look really official. Having the cover and writing the blurb is always a good way to motivate yourself to write the story, too, I think.

    I didn't have any more images on the back, just the blurb and some texture and colour stuff. But yeah, why not post all that in here too? That sounds really cool!

    If we're doing that in here, the I guess I'll start of. I'm working on two stories. I'll do one now and the other in a few days.

    [image=http://i971.photobucket.com/albums/ae198/ivernasolo/mrjop2-tol.jpg]

    Prepare for another wild adventure of Hiccup and Toothless. When Berk is devistated by a dragon attack, His father and he lead a team to find help, only to end up shipwrecked on a mysterious island known as the Outcast Lands. Gobber is convinced that the Island is haunted, but nevertheless, Stoick leads a group to explore the island and see if help can be found. When they find a Viking tribe, it seemes like all will be okay, but the Viking chief of the Outcast tribe has another motive in mind, one that is much more sinister.

    Join Hiccup and gang as they explore this untamed island, full of exotic new dragons, and danger beyound imagination.

    Iverna, I bow down to your skills.

    I got a new computer the other day and it came with PhotoShop. I had never used PhotoShop before (but I've watched other people use it). I was messing around with it and I decided to make a cover for my AU "Dawning". It was not easy. This is how it turned out:

    Wow, that came out pretty good! I love photoshop, I can do some cooll stuff with it. When I program in VB.net a simulation of a popular old time gameshow, like Tic Tac Dough, photoshop really did a great job with letting me create a very realistic look game board. Photoshop is the best!

    That's a really good first effort, Briannakin!

    Iverna was very gracious enough to create a logo for me, that I'm going to make a T-shirt with. I'll post a pic of it when I finish.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/JediMara77/ec537fc0.jpg]

    FYI - it is really hard to make a stencil of the Imperial cog. But I think I finally have it figured out!

    Nice job, Briannakin! That looks great! One bit of advice regarding Photoshop - it should let you save as .jpg, too. You used .gif and that tends to make pictures look a bit pixellated. So I'd always suggest using .jpg or .png because they allow smoother-looking pics.

    And the synopsis sounds awesome, mrjop. I like it. I've never seen HTTYD but you make it sound like a really exciting tale! (Just two things, you typo'd "attack", and it should be "his father and he lead" since the verb's subject is plural.)

    I love the t-shirt as well. It came out great. Now I want to make t-shirts... :D

    Oh, and I'll share my full cover for Solo Moments as well, with spine and back blurb and all. I tried to make it look as official as possible, and I was really pleased with it in the end.

    Awesome cover, especially with the back cover! And if you haven't seen HTTYD, you need to! It's, hands down, the best computer animated movie to date. SO much, that Pixar is trying to emulate it's success by releasing the movie BRAVE next year.

    It's been a few Day, so I came up with this back cover text for the first two of my Superman Trilogy. No cover was made for the first story though.

    Superman: The Last Son Krypton

    It's the story of Super unlike any that has come before. Sent to earth, to avoid Krypton's destruction, Clark Kent is found and adopted by Jonathon and Martha Kent. Clark grows up like you typical child, forming a very close friendship with a young boy with a very rare disease named Lex Luthor. As he enters high school, he forms a very close relationship with with the most beautiful girl at Smallville High, Lana Lang. Then, his life would begin to change forever.

    As these strange abilities begin to emerge, he begins to to question his role ln life. As High School comes to an end, his destiny forces him to give up everything he knows and loves to become someone the world would one day depend upon.

    Now, Clark Kent has grown into earth's savior known as Superman, but holding down two identities will become harder than he could ever imagine. His desire for companionship again takes root as he struggles with his feelings for his fellow Daily Planet reporter, Lois Lane. Further complicating his new life, his former child hood friend, Lex Luthor, who has grown up under his father's shadow, is now his worst enemy. Knowing full well of Clark Kent's secret, Luthor begins to seek his utter destruction by creating two very powerful enemies, that even Superman may not be able to handle.

    Now the other one with the cover

    [image=http://i971.photobucket.com/albums/ae198/ivernasolo/mrjop2-mos.jpg]

    Clark Kent's journey to fulfill his destiny continues to run into bumpms in part two of the trilogy. Superman's quest of being accepted by earth and it's people begins to hit a snag. With Luthor gone, and the criminal underground supposedly dismantled, the city's crime rate ends up going up, not down, when the Intergang begins to terrorize the city. Things get worse when two of Krypton's deadliest criminals comes to earth bent on his total destruction. General Samual Lane, willing to do anything it takes to keep his country safe from hostile aliens, sets in motion a audacious plan that might not only rid the earth of these two menaces, but end up killing Superman as well.

    On the personal front, Clark Kent's life is about to be turned upside down when his former high school sweetheart, Lana Lang, comes to Metropolis. Now, his heart is torn betweeen the two women that he loves: Lana Lang, the love he gave up to follow his destiny; or Lois Lane, the abrasive and dominate news reporter who has become Superman's greatest alley. With two powerful Kryptonian villains out to kill him, this untimly situation only makes him more prone to defeat.

    In this follow up to The Last Son of Krypton, it will take everything Superman has to take on the forces of evil, and even then, it may not be enough to wave Earth.
