Nice, but I already posted the second mirror, noticed the "captain" connection.

 

Still, I love the coincidental "Green theme" in both scenes. Also the top one in natural surroundings (on land), and the second one the mechanical surroundings (on a starship) way above the atmosphere. Not to mention the flesh vs machine incidence.

Ha, hadn't thought about the use of green in the Grievous shot, weird.
And yes, there is a recurrence of nature vs machine in many places in the saga Imo.

Speaking on this thread in general, I have long thought that Lucas wrote ROTS based heavily on all other SW films at the time, most heavily ROTS and TPM. ROTS kind of being their "dark mirror".

Kashyyk and Endor are kind of inverse green planets as well.

Qui-Gon's Jedi saber is force-grabbed by Obi-Wan at confrontation's end. Obi-Wan is now a Jedi, no longer a padawan to Qui-Gon...

Obi-Wan takes Anakin's Jedi saber at duel's end. Obi-Wan is no longer Anakin's master...

 

To me, this thread mostly boils down to:

TPM: Great-looking shot
ROTS: Ugly-looking shot

 

Well that's slightly defeating.
But I agree TPM does indeed look better in some of the shots. More Earthly, maybe?
But it is more the thematic contrast I'm interested in.

After so much pages of great analysis, ranting again. Well, what could I say... Anyway, ROTS is beautiful and in the same way, scary and dark, as is should be, it represents the darkest time of the whole Saga. And in a way, the lowest. Great insights, Hevy and Mcjordan.
