It was pretty funny; just the other day I was playing a game of MLB The Show '19 where my Yankees were visiting Seattle when Hernandez was pitching, and you could see a section in left field of yellow jerseys.

Not the biggest fan of a player needing the full 10-years on the ballot before getting in, because if the case for him was that great/solid, well, it shouldn't have taken this long.

Jeter fell one vote short of unanimous. Someone fire up the outrage machine!

I’m surprised he was that high. I expected at least a dozen.

Good for him, he Tweeted today that he didn't think he had enough votes so I figured he wasn't going to make it.

He was almost right, he only made it by 6 votes.

In this case he was unfairly penalized for years by people who bitched about Coors Field

Congrats to the newest Yankee HOFer! (I'm not overly upset about the one vote).

I went to the Yankees Fanfest in the late Winter of '96 (around January or February). There were dozens of popular ballplayers like Mattingly, Bernie Williams, Reggie Jackson, Phil Rizzuto; all there signing autographs with tremendously long lines. Then I noticed a young guy a few years older than I was sitting at a booth with no one waiting for his auto. Feeling sorry for him, I opened up my '95 NYY Yearbook, found his picture, and he signed it, To Jon, Best Wishes, Derek Jeter.

Sure, and he's of course a very, very, very good talent, with some elite years... but enough of them to be in Hall? He, like Mussina, Baines and others recently of that ilk, are just at threshold, but shouldn't get in. Not exactly in the camp of having a big Hall of Fame.

Thing about Schilling is the folks on MLB think there's a high probability he'll get in next year.

Maybe, but look at the ballot the last 10 years. It's been packed. Hard to crack 75% when the writers are limited to voting for 10 players and the ballot has a backlog of talent.

    Amazing.

When will the Hall be done with their obvious anti-Yankee bias. He'd have been unanimous PLUS FIVE if he played for Boston or Detroit. Why do Hall of Fame voters hate the Yankees?

really didn't think Walker should make the Hall. Played 10 seasons in Colorado and still didn't hit 400 home runs. didn't hit more than 23 in a season before he got there. Batting average definitely inflated playing there.
