Fanclub Siri Tachi Fanclub (for stars sake, what are you waiting for, come on in!)

Oh, I hope nobody minds if I join this fanclub. I recently re-read the Jedi Apprentice series, and I was reminded of how much I loved Siri. She's just so feisty and fierce. It's great how her stubbornness and wit bring both challenge and humor to Obi-Wan's life. I enjoyed reading of their adventures where they grew to have a respect and prickly liking for one another in Fight for Truth (one of my favorite Jedi Apprentice books) and the Dangerous Rescue. Their romance in Secrets of the Jedi was so lovely and tragic. It broke my heart when they agreed to split because their commitment to the Jedi was so great that they couldn't bear to not be Jedi even if being Jedi meant they couldn't be together as a couple. The heartbreak tore through me again when Obi-Wan's response to Siri's death isn't a desire for revenge but rather to say he isn't like the man who killed her. It was just a powerful testament to the purity of Obi-Wan as a character and how selfless, how unpossessive his love for Siri was. Basically, Siri and her relationship with Obi-Wan are both beautiful, and I'm a huge fan as you could probably tell by this post, ha ha.

That scene in the Room of a Thousand Fountains where they agree to not be together because of their mutual commitment to the Jedi was so profound for me and such a great comment to me on how noble, self-sacrificing, and loyal to the Jedi Order above their own personal desires both Obi-Wan and Siri were. Their love feels so real to me leading up to that, I really appreciate what they are sacrificing in the name of being Jedi.

Their relationship really was beautiful and helped Obi-Wan grow in his sense of humor while I think Siri also became a bit humbler because of her adventures with Obi-Wan as well. They really helped one another grow.

One aspect I always loved about Obi-Wan was how selfless he could be, and I think that his love for Siri and reaction to Siri's death really shows that truth about him.
