Dear Diary Challenge 2009
I'd like to thank Trimaj for getting me interested in doing this. His Joker Diary scares the giblets out of me.

As ever, all these characters don't belong to me, I'm just pleased Mr Lucas gave us this joy to work with, and lets us play in his sandbox.

    Sith Keep Diaries!

    Katunda, 1/15/27 ABY

    Well, I wouldn?t call it a diary.

I?d prefer to call it a journal. More manly. Only female Sith keep diaries, though don?t tell them; they?d probably do something unpleasant to parts of my body I?m rather attached to. Well, more attached to than I?d otherwise be, being as they?re parts of my body.

Now I?m babbling. This is why I told Mr Wyyrlok that I didn?t want to do this ? I swear journals are the first step towards madness. Talking to yourself, at very best, or to an inanimate object at very worst. If someone had seen Darth Vader talking to the Executor?s caf machine, his ability to command would be so diminished he wouldn?t have seen those asteroids coming ? the ships navigator would have flown into them in a fit of madness!

Oh, so that?s why all those Captain?s flew into the Hoth Asteroid Belt and died; they saw Vader talking to a caf machine?

Concentrate, concentrate. Mr Wyyrlok is going to mark this, remember!

    .

    ..

    ...

It?s arguably more Sithly to call it a holocron, to be honest, but I can?t do that without imagining the thing chewing someone?s ear off with teachings. The holovids never show that part, the boring part of spending hours sitting in a classroom as the Darth Nihilus gatekeeper rumbles off some indecipherable gabble that we?re all supposed to understand naturally.

Of course, that?s the advanced classes, and I haven?t made it that far yet. My first lesson was with Mr Krayt, the Dark Lord, who apparently emerges from stasis at the beginning of the year to greet the new intake. Mr Wyyrlok is teaching us now. Some of us are quite old, into their thirties. I?m nineteen, and feel far too old to be at school. I sit next to Mr Wyyrlok?s daughter, Allena. I?ve never seen a Chagrian, so it?s strange to be near her all the time. I think she likes me, though I?m not sure.

Korriban is so different to home, to Fondor, where my father abandoned me to die in the workers digs. He left me there when I was seventeen. So I hung around with some Neo-Imperials. I just wanted him to reply to my letters ? to remember me, in boarding school.

The injustice... it?s... disgusting. Abandoned by him so he could be a Senator in that fake artifice called democracy... the mockery of government that let me become a slave...

    It?s unfair.

And that... childish whine, it utterly repulses me; I am weak, so pathetic that it makes me want to retch. But that boy is dead. Aden Kya died when I was seventeen. Now...

Now I wonder who I am, and who I will become.

I will take a new name...

    I wonder what it?ll be?>

    This is really funny!

Oh, so that?s why all those Captain?s flew into the Hoth Asteroid Belt and died; they saw Vader talking to a caf machine?

That would have been more entertaining than what actually happened!

I really like this so far. Keep up the good work!

    Sith Keep Diaries!

    Katunda, 2/29/27 ABY

    I hate this diary.

Well, I can't really say hate.

It was my fault I mentioned Mr. Wyyrlok's daughter, after all. But she does like me! I saw her giggle when Mr. Wyyrlok told me off. In front of the whole class. Then he put me on cleaning duty for two months! Mr. Krayt's scales are really icky.

So - I refused to write anything in you, because of what you, um, I, did. But today Allena asked about my diary, and I felt guilty for leaving you for so long. Not very Sithly of me, is it, to feel guilty?

Whatever. I still haven't been given a Sith name, and its annoying me. We're all going to be Sith, so why not give us a name now? I hate my old name. Aden Kya. Aden Lin. Whichever one you give me, I'm the son of an Empire-lover, to the point she chose a clone of her beloved Emperor over me when I was three. And Dad... I just wanted him to remember me. I heard they found him dead a few days after the Battle of Fondor...

    [dried patches follow]

After they took me. But Mrs. Plo saved me from the scarheads, and I'm glad. She came to see me yesterday, actually. Gave me a lightsaber, told me to keep it away from the other boys. We're not allowed our own room here, so I hide it under my pillow. Mr. Tremayne said it is character-building, sleeping on these stone beds, no curtains, nothing other than a candle...

It's really embarassing to undress in front of the girls. Allena looked nice. I think - she is Chagrian after all. I'm sure I saw her looking at me. I read in Ms. Gomorrah's 'Anatomy for Assassins' class that Chagrian's have forked tongues, and I was trying to see Allena's after class, and I'm pretty sure she was blushing. Hard to tell under those tattoo's.

There's a younger boy here, called Bob - what an awfully uncouth name! - and he seems to get on with me. Bob and I were paired in Biology class. We've been trying to give a Ranat poisoned teeth. Marcus managed to pull it off, and it bit him - Ms. Gomorrah let him die. That was scary.

I do wonder what Bob's after, though. We're supposed to be 'One Sith', but... didn't Darth Vader betray the Emperor?

Whatever. All I know is that I can trust you, Diary.

    Is that strange?

    Mrs. Plo?:D

The idea of that they have an 'Anatomy for Assassins' class is great! I love it almost as much as him wondering about Allena's forked tongue.[face_mischief]

excellent job again ryan. loads of fun reading this.

enjoyed the comments about allena, and how they got him in trouble. i'm sure that'll happen, as wyyrlok doesn't seem to... appreciate his daughter getting attentions of that nature.

LOVED the intro of bob, and how uncouth the name was.

keep up the good work my friend.

    Hey Diary!

I know I spoke to you yesterday, but I wanted to tell you what happened. Mr. Wyyrlok took an assembly today - my first! with the other teachers. Mrs. Plo, grandmother, stood beside Mr. Tremayne and Ms. Gomorrah. It was really cool to see Nan up there. Mr. Wyyrlok spoke about Lord Krayt - apparently I'm not supposed to call him 'Mr' - and his vision of the One Sith.

Apparenly we're supposed to be all equal within the 'Order'. So there is One - the Order itself. We're different to the other Sith, Mr. Wyyrlok said. I don't know how we are, but knowing that we're going to succeed where everyone else 'failed' is awesome! Apparently we're all expected to become Sith Lords, and some of us might even get to take on the 'Darth' title.

History was kinda cool, I guess, learning about Darth Bane and all the others who followed him. Darth Vectivus was the only one not deformed or weird looking. Allena said he was cute, and the whole class laughed at her. Well, I didn't. Bob did, so I pushed him off his chair. Mr. Tremayne congratulated me, which I thought was strange. I was told off for being violent at boarding school back on Fondor...

But the really cool thing is what Nan gave me. A lightsaber! She had even made the crystal out of her own blood, synthesising it from that and giving it a really blood-red blade. Everyone is really jealous. Allena even came up to me and spoke to me! It was amazing. One of the higher acolytes, one who has already picked his Sith name - Crawler - said that it wasn't fair and went to complain to Mr. Wyyrlok. I don't care what anyone thinks.

Apparently Nan is going to take me on as her apprentice! I'll learn all about grandfather, which will be cool. Apparently he took on a 'Darth' title before even Lord Krayt. I can't wait to find out more about my grandparents!

    Isn't this cool, Diary?

Great stuff. Mr Krayt! :D Yeah, it just doesn't sound the same, unless he was a covert shopkeeper or something. Enjoyed the laugh. Thanks.
