I just found out that my final interview with the Assistant Chief for the position of Field Training Officer will be on Wednesday afternoon (1:40 p.m.), so I probably won't make it to the theater until about 3 p.m. or so. No camping out overnight for me -- I need to make sure I look (and smell) my best for the interview.

Good louck on your FTO interview, Dylan! Haven't decided when I'm showing up, but I'll likely take all of Wednesday off for sleeping and prestuff (have training on thursday, which was the day I was GOING to take off).

I'll likely show around 2 or 3 depending on what I hear from Shannon. All the newbies need to make sure I meet you before leaving. Got to keep the membership straight in my head. I'll likely be wearing TK armor for much of the afternoon and a NAD shirt for the rest of the time.

Since our C3 NAD badges didn't say C3 on them, make sure everyone that you wear your badge to the H27 to ID ourselves. Maybe even wear your C3 badge as a badge of honor.

Thats sounds about right. Thats what they did fo us at Episode 2 and at LOTR. The like us there because the doors there lead right down to the hall way to the big theatres. But don't worry will have so much fun. I hope the camping over night trip is going to be as fun as last time. Only this time it will be hot instead of cold!

Any ideas on where we can let a lady change? I got myself and 2 other guys with us who have no shame changing in a car, but our friend might feel uncomfortable changing around us or behind a dumpster or something. Im not 100% familiar with the area so any help would be great. any thoughts PM please.

they said we could go in and out of the bathroom....maybe a quick change in there, and just re-load the stuff in the car afterwards?

To say it simply, I liked the movie & LOVED the book.

I felt like Lucas sacrificed major plot point tie-ins that evidently hit the cutting room floor for the sake of movie pace. Remember the big news about the casting for Mon Mothma, Bel Iblis, General Dadonna? ~ ALL absent from the movie. Qui Gon Jinn's voice communicating with Yoda ~ Absent. Yoda pledging to be Qui Gon's new apprentice ~ absent. Threepio saying he can't wait to tell the twins all about their parents (which is the reason for the memory wipe) absent.
The founders of the rebellion meeting in secret (with Padme) to find a way to oppose the new Emperor and realizing that its going to take at least 20 years to do so. ~ Yup, you guessed it. ABSENT!
In short, I felt like we got to watch the cliff notes version of the novelization. AND I know that these scenes were filmed because they've had images of them on the web, or the characters were all cast for these roles. I also thought that at the end where we see Vader & Palpatine on the bridge of the Star Destroyer & all the officers were around was a sudden jump. We haven't seen ANY officers in the entire prequels up to now & WHAM there they are in the same exact uniforms they wore in the original trilogy.

AND if you haven't seen the most recent Clone Wars cartoons, you will have NO idea why Grevious has the bad cough.

IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, WATCH "CLONE WARS" CARTOON VOLUME II & THEN READ THE ROTS NOVELIZATION. THEN GO WATCH THE MOVIE AGAIN. IT WILL MAKE BETTER SENSE.

Can't wait to read the book now..and that was funny about the cough...I know there were a million details we missed in the film, it's a shame, because the makers of the LOTR triligy make such long and detailed films but Lucas chops everything down and rushes it. I feel we were entitled to a 3 hour movie myself. I did like it, but will have to rely on the book to get the whole deal.

Dittos to what Scott posted above. The movie did seem truncated and I knew it was to get the running time down. I was disappointed that all of the Alliance formation AND Qui-Gon's voice over was cut, because it made Yoda's revelation to Obi-wan about 'more training' go right over the heads of most of the folks there. I had NOT read the novellization, but my brother from Chicago had, and he said having read the book first made the movie more understandable.

I don't think the loss of those scenes will affect the general public's like or dislike of the movie, but to us Star Wars obsessionists, having every detail fleshed-out is desperately desired.

One immediate comment from fans at the midnight show was that Anakin's turn seemed too ridiculous and quick, that more time for Palpatine's seduction was needed. Several scenes which would have enhanced Anakin's turn on Padme was Palpatine's subtle suggestion to Anakin earlier on that Obi-Wan was making moves on Padme. That was preceded by a cut scene of Obi-wan's first visit to Padme, and followed by the scene of Anakin asking Padme if Obi-Wan was there.

I know they will end up on the DVD - but I wish Uncle George would take a cue from Peter Jackson and put them in chronological order IN the movie and not by themselves on the bonus disk.

One thing my brother appreciated the film had done that the book could not convey with simple words - was Palpatine's revelation to Anakin about Darth Plagueis 'manipulating the Midi-chlorians to create life'. Ian McDiarmid's acting and pause while uttering those words and then looking at Anaking and saying '....life', made it clear to us that Anakin's "no father" origins were Sith - which makes Yoda's 'misread the prophecy' quote make more sense.

I do have to say that Paducah surprised me with the costumes and revelry during our line party. For the first time ever - we were first in line after getting there at noon. The idea I would wait in line WITH a ticket for a midnight show was so bizarre to the yokels here that I ended up on the local news several times last night.

The party really got going around 7 and by 10 it was full force party-time. We even had Sith versus Jedi mass duels that the news crews filmed. The theater management was awesome, asking me to pull my Sithmobile car up in front of the box office so we could crank the scores. Because we were first in line and helped the mgmt set up the barricades - they let my group of about 20 in first to pick our choice of seats. The projectionist came by to chat with us and asked how 'loud' we wanted the SDS digital audio - to which we replied 'so we can FEEL' the explosions' - to which he accomodated us well.

They got over 900 people comfortably seated at around 12:15 with no problems and when the 20th century fox logo came up - you could not even hear the sound.

28 years of waiting in line, having a ball with other fans, and experiencing the cheering, laughing and 'getting into the movie' like no other showing other than a midnight premiere has sadly come to an end.

The movie itself was tremendous IMO - despite the deletions and quick editing.

It will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of the saga, and will soon be a but fond memory told to future generations.

We have experienced the unique, and nothering like it will ever come again.

"We haven't seen ANY officers in the entire prequels up to now & WHAM there they are in the same exact uniforms they wore in the original trilogy."

To me that scene almost seemed like a flash-forward--I mean, it took 20 years to build the first Death Star and then 6 months to build a second, more powerful one? Also it looked like the TIE fighters were starting to look more like TIE fighters. Maybe they should've had this scene be the last one instead of Obi-Wan delivering Luke to Owen and Beru.

By the way, just wanted to send out a big THANKS to Shannon, Dylan and everybody else that helped secure seats for Amy and I. My work schedule got all screwed up at the last minute so we didn't wind up getting to the theater until about 11:00 (but we were watching all of you from back at the station during the 10 news!).

Now Im going to read all the books all the way through so I can get a well rounded experience. (easier said than done) We got in at 5 on the nose and I got to bed an hour after that and crashed until noon. But I couldnt go into work. I just had to finish playing Sith and beat it already. Now Im at work and total useless and a deadline over my head. I really should havee taken the week off completely and not deal with any of this stuff. I could be sitting in the theater right now watching it all over again sans the robes.
