Ten things learned from Liz Parrish on Reddit

I have kept track of this via Facebook and actually exchanged a few words with Ms. Parrish on a couple of occasions. There are thankfully a few others with far greater education who are happy to elaborate on certain items fro me.

The gist here is this is the first real attempt to make someone younger again. The CEO of this company is experimenting on herself. BioViva is keeping up with FDA standards but is bypassing them because they are sloooooooooooooow.

80. Anything past that and unless you took good care of yourself or are just lucky, you're pretty much on the crappy end of your life. Since I've got neither going for me, 80 it is.

 

o i wanna be ooold. i love watching old people. they come to the store to buy their newspaper and five daily chocolates and waffles and sweet **** and just give you this mean stare when you say hi to them. they don't have to give a **** about anything. and they say whatever is on their mind no matter what. my grandmother will point and laugh at people passing by like she hasn't got any ***** left to give.

o and they take their sweet time too. if they wanna take five minutes to move out of someone elses way, they can cus they're old and have earned it.

can't wait.

Not past 85 I'd say, I'd be the old guy with no family to visit me in the nursing home. Or.... Long enough to see the end of the world.

 

I agree with everything zapdos said and I would add that I'd like to have a scooter when I'm old so I can run youngsters over and I won't give a **** because I'll be old.

Buuut, none of my grandparents lived past 80 so chances are I won't live long enough to do that.

 

Nah, guys, the question was rhetorical. This is one of those "go science" threads about the biological immortality the rich will eventually attain.

 

Well, I'm old enough not to give a **** what the actual question was.

 

Next thing you know, you'll be mall walking and yelling at the janitors when they get in your path.

 

Only long enough to be alive to see the zombie apocalypse...and then I wouldn't want to be apart of the world anymore after seeing all that .

 

Taking care of your body makes a big difference, but I'd agree past 78 or so for men and 80 or so for women it's more about genetics. My father-in-law still hunts, skis, does mountain hikes, rides his bicycle, and swims at 87, though slowly and with frequent rests. My mother at 80 is almost immobile though cognitively still fit. Active vs. sedentary lifestyle is a big part of that difference, but not the only part.

Linguistic aside: the German word for real estate is Immobilien. That's my mother. She's basically become real estate: permanently parked in one spot.

If you don't want to be real estate at 80, stay active. But start now because at some point it's too late to change your lifestyle.

The rich folk who could afford life extending jiggery pokery are not the kind of people I would want to hang out with and I imagine one would quickly feel a disconnect with others when you live healthily past 100.

On balance, even given the choice, I'd settle for my three score years and ten.
