Long enough to see interstellar travel become a reality.

I just want to make it to my 70s, then after that I'll go with God.

You know, with all the bickering and hostility in the JC, it's nice to finally see a post everyone can agree on.

Yes, we noticed that you have suddenly decided to follow the rules, gaf what Montie wants, and be a happy helpy helper, but we actually don't care, Evan.

    Here we have George Church

I had already read about human trials for reversing aging in a year or two, but this is a recent item including that and an estimate for ten years. I'll be 55. Faster please.

This one calculates based on level of education, income and lifestyle choices. According to it, I'm expected to live to be 92 and have a 25 percent chance of living past 98.

85 for me, a bit less (1.5 years) than others my age. I have a 75% chance of living to be older than 76 and a 25% chance of living to be older than 91.

Seeing as how I don't know of any blood relatives of mine who have lived past 80 (the closest were my maternal grandparents, who both died in their late 70s), I'd say this all sounds fairly accurate for me.

I would like to live to 100, though. I was born in 1980--and I'm strangely fascinated to learn what life in 2080 will be like.

75% chance of living beyond 64; expectancy is 72. Figured on lower ages. :p

Mine says I have a 75% chance of living past 70 and my expectancy is 78. It actually tells me I could live longer if I have a drink a day. I think that is bogus. Alcohol can be a stress reliever sure but ti does bad things to your body no matter how small the amount.

I actually thinks it's a blessing that we all eventually die. Death is the great equaliser. The world would be a much harsher and more merciless place if people lived forever.

Yeah, I noticed that it's the absolute non-drinkers who have the lowest lifespan in that category (even under those who drink 8+ glasses a week).

The pro-alcohol bent of that survey does explain why Tracy has the highest life expectancy of anyone else in this thread so far. ;)

No, generic survey, I'm pretty sure there are extenuating circumstances meaning I'm coming out ahead.

75% chance of living to 73, could stand to eat less and exercise more. Of course I won't actually make it that long because I'm genetically predisposed to a veritable nightmare list of illnesses. Hooray!

For the record, I'm like-ing the first sentence, not the second, in which you detail the reasons why you think you'll have a short life. :p

Forever is a long time. How about a few extra decades or centuries in good health?

It did not tell me what I could do to live longer. I guess it thinks 92 is long enough.

FWIW, in addition to my alcohol consumption, I also put that I exercise 3-4 times a week (I actually workout more on good weeks). ;)
