VIDEO So is The Force Unleashed no longer canon?

Lucas ditched it, from what I remember reading.

However, I'd love to see Galen Marek in Rebels.

 

Love the games, starting another playthrough of both the games. Although I found TFU 2 to be a step down from TFU. But still, sad to see it be decanonized. Although if we get a more clear and connected timeline from it, then I'm fine by it.

Although didn't Lucas help with the story and make it fit in to the overall narrative?

 

TFU 2 was good but it was far too short. The Dagobah level was literally just walking up a hill. There should been at least some platforming or ghosts to fight or something.

Also because, let's be honest, there's never going to be a TFU 3, the ending is a massive, unresolved cliffanger.

Unless you think the evil ending is true, where all the characters are dead, and the dark clone just never turns up again.

 

Agreed Darkspine. TFU 2 was way too short,NAND the locales were not very diverse. I think the story could've been great, but they felt they needed to shoehorn in cameos from major characters like Yoda.

And TFU 3 was Banghazi fodder after the lukewarm reception of TFU 2, no doubt, and the big layoffs that hit LucasArts. I think a hire game could've been awesome on next gen consoles.

 

TFU 2 was too short. That's the reason for the lukewarm reception. Plus, we now know Lucas was a massive **** behind the scenes during the production of the TFU series - remember 'Darth Insanius'? The literally didn't care and took pleasure in ****in' with his team.

 

I thought that TFU 2 had some really interesting concepts, like the clone not wanting to replace the original, and how Juno would respond to this discovery, but because it ended so abruptly they never actually developed these concepts enough.

 

The duel with Vader was awesome.

Anyway, haven't played TFU 2 in a while (might start replaying them soon, though!), but was the new Galen actually a clone or not? I thought I remember the game not clearing this up.

 

It was meant to cleared up in TFU 3, but the series has been binned.

Vader escaping from Rebel custody would have been cool to see/play in TFU 3. Apart from that I don't care, TFU 2 didn't need to happen and was stupid

 

Mercifully. It was a stupid series and deserved to be binned.

The ending of TFU was silly; made Vader look too weak.

 

The story. The central concept. The Force powers. The gameplay. Everything from start to finish.

 

love the games. i really want to see the conclusion of the force unleashed trilogy. even though it's an alternate universe type of story i found it interesting and they left it on a cliffhanger. they should just complete it now regardless of the story because they can do whatever they want with it and it won't impact the canon. starkiller could do anything. kill vader, boba fett and the emperor. finish the story damn it!

 

Well the Outriders brief cameo in A New Hope will always be a special scene for me personally as it reminds me of SOTE. It punches that non-canon crap right in the kisser.

 

I'm glad it's not cannon. Good riddance.

 

It was a good idea, but Starkiller was WAY too powerful.

While I liked the first game (never played the sequel), I didn't care for Galen co-founding the Rebel Alliance.
