Again: What is shown on the YJCC was NEVER in the movie.

 

That's the irony of it, Salty. Everyone thinks this argument is about the pair of knockers sitting in the top left hand of the screen. It isn't, folks. Most of us who are against the banner just think it doesn't look good at all. We'd happily put a new one up there if we were given the choice, but as was said a few pages back, there was no contest, there wasn't even an announcement that a new banner was going to be created.

 

I keep seeing people say take it down. What about the people who actually don't want to take it down?

If you take it down it's not going to solve anything. All you'll do is make the people that don't like it happy, and the people that do mad.

 

Leaving it up won't solve anything.

The only chance to solve it is to compromise and make a new banner.

Now, it doesn't have to be non-offensive, non-denominational But too many people seem to be upset over it to leave as is.

 

I couldn't agree more, Hawk. I personally think that's the whole underlying issue about this. Is the chick skanky? Sure. Should she be up there? Maybe, maybe not. I think a contest in each forum would keep something like this from happening again.

At least the Outlander club has a bit of style to it. The diner was tacky in the movies, and it's tacky here. I couldn't care less if there were half-naked women in the banner.

 

Ok, why not keep the Diner theme, but in Hermione's place put maybe another character who is social from the saga. Maybe Lando. That would join the OT and PT, make it a saga, and keep a VERY social atmosphere.

Plus Billy Dee is so cool.

I find Kit Fisto's picture offensive on the "post reply" screens because I feel his "dreadlocks" are a mockery and a racist statement against the Jamacian culture.

Part of the problem with this is the thoughts aren't organized well. I'm getting lost re-reading this thread over and over again.

If the points stand out and are made clear, they'll be easier to respond to and will gain more attention.

Just because a very vocal minority has issues with the banner is to reason for it to be taken down. I think it has a very good "community" feel to it.

What DOES need to happen is that the banner is taken back and fixed up.

Then we will all be happy is Larry (most of us anyway).

Count up the "minority" and see how it compares to the "majority." Even those who aren't offended by cleavage think it's a banner that needs FIXING or to be scrapped totally.

 

I was reffering to the minority with the cleavage issue. I did, however, agree that it needed to be fixed up.
